If the plural form of "goose" is "geese",
why isn't the plural of "moose" "meese"?

The Four Seasons

The Four Seasons…

It was spring and I was young when I had wine.
I was singing and dancing and doing fine.
The wine was so divine, made my blossoms glow.
The spring is for the youth, makes everything shine.

Summer came and I was older, full of joy.
I was in love, and love taught me to enjoy.
I was flying, kissing, dancing having fun.
Didn't know that the end is there to destroy.

The autumn was yellow, tired, full of pain.
My garden was there but flowers lived in vain.
The nightingales departed, my youth as well.
I could not see the way, clouds were crying rain.

Now is winter and winter promises cold.
I am there but alone, with no one to hold.
The garden is barren, empty, no more youth.
The only thing is there, is me that is old.

This poem is in the form of "Rubaiyat", it is the plural form of Rubai. Rubai is a quatrain with rhyming of AABA. Each Rubai is a book by itself, it starts and ends within the quatrain, but when it's in a form of Rubaiyat, it follows the single theme with the same meter throughout. Poetrysoup has a good explanation of this format.

Distant Things

Like the distant sparkling stars
You are, always looking at me
And by serendipity
When I happen to come across you
Your smile sheds tumultuous hues
But to disappear like fugitive dew
Okay, my dear, let it be so
The secrets of distance I only know
Hands are best held when they are miles apart
Balmier are the touches of a distant heart
Oh, distant star, miles and miles apart
Your brief encounters are there still in my shirt
Tightening closeness loosens in some time
Distance keeps up loveliness of rhyme
That overwhelmed us with that heavenly sweat
Last time when we met:
“What do you see when you look at me?”
“From distant love how you set me free”
The distance is no hurdle but a feel so sweet
When sleep eludes me I do listen to your heartbeat
And fall asleep into a boundless deep….
Inside the embroidered steep
Again the tap on the window
In a starry voice of lovely low
“What do you see when you look at me?”
“Those loves in the stars of your beautiful poetry”

The Game

The die are placed on the board of our lives,
Both sets of eyes, horribly kept shut,
The exchange of fantasy from reality; and the stage set,
Here, turns are not given but literally taken,
An entrée of malice with Devilish intent, Surely time well spent,

Roll after roll, When will it end?
The paths on offer are many, reaching toward eternity,
The climax at a bridge, An offer to fall,
A glance at each other, and we know not where we go,
As this is the course of the Game of our ties.

NOTE: "Die" is plural form of Dice

Indigo You Are Violet

voices skating secrets across the rim of a wine glass,
breath advocating a glance. Plucking nerves like a guitar string
wind revealing the liars tongue,
never failing to encapsulate
the quiet tuck, serenades of existence

pouring solitude down a rusty rainspout
to particular seasons that shadow
a present future;
as corrupted stain glass contributes
a haunted soldered image.

We never fully realize the petals won’t wilt,
gardens remain constant
hope becoming a postal card;
parchments sealed with the adieu
real like hairline cracked sidewalks
sowed by constant sorrow.

Distribute me from your straight jacket of resents,
sanction me to feel the softness of
the salt water breeze;
a chance meeting with eyes unable to ascend
knowing that the plural form of time is indigo
you are violet.

Salving Heights

Sky aglow upon your reflection
Blue eyes of glass bestowing affection

A symphony segueing perpetually,
A Psalm of praise ascending gradually

One by one you extend along,
Road by road you chant this song

Heights you reach, you soar, you shimmer,
Your translucent eyes they shine, they glimmer

With pride you stand, built to build
A future ignited with glory, fulfilled

Your widening roofs, a reflection of sun
Amidst thy beauty, all beauty has begun

Abraj of Dubai… Decorum of future
                                Adornment of sky
