Playdays Nursery Rhyme
Your rainy play day comes to an end
Running and jumping in puddles with friends
Creating rain paintings – making mud pies
Wearing warm rain coats – boots with googly eyes.
Time for a “tubbie” to wash off the mud
Duckies and bubbles – rub-a-dub-dub
Wrap up in a towel so fluffy and warm
Now jump into bed - cozy, safe from the storm.
Stories then prayers as you close your eyes
Dream of the days when snow fills up the skies – Night! Night!

Thanks for coming to my play date.
I'm so glad you’re still my friend.
Let’s forget our little quarrel.
[Duh! You think it’s gonna end?]
Hope you’re ready for a good time.
[‘cause that’s just what I intend.]
I’ve got games to entertain us.
Girl, it’s gonna be a gas!
We’ll play leap frog, tag, and Twister.
Girl, we're gonna go first class!
Pin the tail upon the donkey.
[Girl, you're such a sorry ass.]
We’ll have cookies, cake, and ice cream,
Chocolate swirl, and mint pecan,
And a couple sweet surprises
I’ve got planned for later on!
[I put Quaaludes in the Kool-Aid;
Hid a camera in the john!]
Then we’re gonna to take some pictures....
[Girl, I’m gonna own your soul]
...to commemorate our play date!
[I’ll have absolute control.]
All your friends will want to see you!
[Passed out on the toilet bowl.]
Playing in the meadow behind my house,
I noticed a lovely little creature; it had wings.
It started talking, but I didn’t understand it,
To my surprise, she sprinkled some magic on me.
I got tiny as she was, and I grew beautiful wings
The next time she spoke, I understood her
She said,“ Hi, my name is Abigail.” In a tiny voice
“ Hi Abigail, My name is Tabitha. What are you?”
“ I’m a fairy, and so are you too. Let’s go fly.”
“ Okay, I can go fly a little while; I have chores.”
“ Chores? What’s a chore? It sounds funny.”
“ It may sound funny, but it’s not; let’s go fly.”
“ Ok, but what is a chore, Tabitha? I want to know”.
“ You are funny, Abigail. A chore is a cleaning thing.
“ Oh, I don’t want one of those; let's go fly.”
The new best friends flew up high in the sky
they even passed the milky way and the Big Dipper.
When they made it back to the meadow, Tabitha
changed back into a little girl. As she was running
home, she turned to wave at Abigail, but she was gone.
PLAYDATE WITH MY GRANDSON
The cool of morning wind. The playground free.
We run on vitamin D, set sail for
the timberset of castles and swings.
Our wings on fire — Spring cheeks so ruddy red.
I think of slower days - those not sublime.
It’s a grand time. The trees dressed white and pink.
The lift of heathery feet and the grass
a treat. The sand - a miniature twister.
Of all the wishes wished this one is sweet.
