I read poetry from forty poets last night
some of these missives were brilliant
others were stunningly fresh
I try to intentionally forget most of it
not wanting to be a word thief
or a plagiarists
I cannot fathom why any writer would use A.I.
What satisfaction could that give them?
I want my own words, my own way and no one else’s.

Sojourn of the Night Train
David J Walker
It was the night train
Sounding its warning
Pulling the evening
On a sojourn west
The night train commands
The stars and the shadow
Of the moon
Where fearful plagiarists
Erase all traces of
Expectations
And fall asleep in the heap
Of lower quarters
The night train is coming
And will not fail to follow
Its track beyond the horizon
Of the restless ocean

Following rules, we learned as kids,do you remember?
Do not take another's pencil, it is a sin, nor their precious toys
nor dimes to in your pockets, put in,
What allows us now, to steal with such giddy, sin-filled ploy?
Whether be it a car-jacking or a despicable looting done on camera
with grimacing, hideous joy?
Most of us are not thieves, and raise heck at plagiarists!
But things now escaped in adults as crooks as forgers or "fraud-sters anonymous."
The simple truth is that things taken, display a huge lack of integrity,
And simply fail, with their lack of character and bald- faced chicanery.
Play up front and honest is my call.
Pretend you made a home-run,when in fact, all you had was a foul ball?
Winners fulfill promises, losers on their faces will fall.
Cheating wins no games in life, that's a big loser's call.

Dedicated to Maria, my daughter, a woman of ethics and
elected to office legally. Thank you. It was a hard road but
you made a difference for the good~ in many!
Wow~ a woman of integrity. Without that, nothing works.
Love, Mom

Plagiarists are very wrong,
either in poems or a song,
not a way to try get along,
my standpoint's so strong,
hit them with a loud gong,
their actions never belong,
they can hurt like a prong,
back again, won't be long!

I can't believe that he could claim
A poem by Edgar Allan Poe,
Titled as is, but with his name!
That is plagiarism, we know!
Wallace Stevens, Stephen Foster,
Thomas Moore, Sir Philip Sidney,
Famous authors whose works are here-
Posted as this guy's poetry!
Plagiarists steal written work,
And thrive with inadequacy.
Their minds are warped, there evil lurks,
They're crooks, that is seen quite clearly!
When someone would post as his own
The writings of well-known authors,
Then to the whole world he makes known
He's a pathetic pretender!

Note: Plagiarism is the "wrongful appropriation" and "stealing and publication" of another author's "language, thoughts, ideas, or expressions" and the representation of them as one's own original work. It is "intellectual property theft" . ---"It’s robbing people of their ideas, inventions, and creative expressions—what’s called intellectual property—everything from trade secrets and proprietary products and parts to movies and music and software." Plundering stuff to clone is obscene
Leeching from others whose work they have seen
Always alert for what comes their way
Grabbing their windfalls by night and by day
In their bid for acclaim and contests to win
As they strive to be first to get copyrights in
Redoubling their effort with every deed
It flies in the face of our Creative Creed
Shunned is the justice they'll get for their greed
Their peers, once alerted, will expose them by name
Serves them right when they're Caught and Outed in Shame

I stole this poem
with cutlass and eyes
words lusted and trusted
so I took of this prize
it's chests of golden
it's flashing jeweled verbs
and left letters worthless
to be picked by the birds
sailing 'cross bleached pages
under azure blue skies
I stole of my own life
and took what implies
existence on dangerous sees
to the edge of the earth and
boarded keyboard south of the keys
taking every word of worth
pillaging the hapless literati
demanding chains and trinkets
relieving authors boasting haughty
of bootied lines me think it's
better to hold to bright sun
to see glint in the daylight
some pirated pentameter outdone
without sword of pen to fight
so hang me dashed by a yardarm
an' tell lies of me glories
whilst takin' maidens in arm
regaling wild legended stories
but, me matey, ye'd better beware
of plagiarists fast on your tale
'cross oceans of notions they dare
pirate your own words to unveil
to their own laughing lasses and crew
drinking and toasting remembrance of you
what's a pirating plagiarist to do?
- but pirate a poem out of the blue
aaarrgh matey -
I'll be takin' them lines now...

Racists o
rarist,
repulsive
rapists,
thy allure
makes
thee
atrocious
artists.
Thou hurt
the heart
of the
harmless
only to get
haunted
and
hopeless.
Racists o
racist,
stupefying
sadists;
thou art a

plagiarists,
Injustice is
the

injection
with
which
thou reel
rejection.
Cute colour

thou preen
on a

I wonder if
you
created
the paint
that make
you feel
like a

Spare me

you flaunt,
you did

why stunt?
All men

PLASTIC BAG PLAGIARISM
I thought it was all over but I have
Been assaulted by a plagiarists’ wave,
And I felt used, abused, dirty .
I’ve received insults about a plastic bug (about thirty)
And a plastic bog. Some have referred
To my plastic as being merely big; or claimed (and erred)
To have seen how my poor dead plastic begs.
But the most heartlessly cruel dregs
Were making “plastic dog” jokes,
Not to mention the bombastic pseudo-erudite folks
With their sarcastic references (often sick)
To elastic clastics in the mastic,
And how my “idiot” dog was enthusiastic,
Though drastic and rustic.
From people’s cruelty there seems no refuge
But, who knows? When they get to the pearly gate
They could come face to face with a huge
Plastic dog determining their fate.
