Persuader Poems

Premium MemberConsciousness

Within the dark mystery of evening,
he listens to two interchangeable discourses
One the gentle persuader, the other, life's ultimate blamer.
Troubled by these seething exchanges,
both conscious and unconscious currents resound,
As the master's inner thoughts boom,
pounding into trails of indecision
with wired quizzes on his mind.

In silence, he weighs dark and light perspectives-
question left unanswered in the din
of reflection,
and through gradual flow of spontaneous musings,
Logic nags his cerebral strains-
scientific, structured assessment of matters which do not really matter...

Somehow, amid the debate where reason pauses with the fragile voice of instinct, the heart remains silent
offering gentle hunches revealing the
wisdom born from honesty, truth...

Slowly, this inner prompting arises
as the master in quiet introspection
realizes: the mind can lie , pride is ego- based ...but the heart, can it in conscience cope with deceit?

Premium MemberSaying No But Wanting To Say Yes

Part of me says yes, yes, yes to a hot air balloon ride.
The other part shrieks NO! Because we know what could happen.
It happened once in Iowa, and the photos were on the front page of newspapers.
The balloon had burned up and the people had fried. I was about eight.

I can’t, I lie, simultaneously desperately wanting to take a ride in one.
They coax, they cajole, they tease me for years, begging and grinning.
Eventually the right persuader came along, and somehow got me on one.
We were like birds, floating effortlessly in the air. The wind gentler up here.

I felt like I was in heaven, watching the quilt of the land get smaller.
The silence was the most amazing refresher I had ever felt.
A loud sigh came out of me; my stress disappeared, my backache was gone.
I never wanted to return to the land of the walkers; I was an eagle now.

Premium MemberI Come Nearer You

I come nearer You
not for fear of lethal
wrath (fire and brimstone
is not an endearing
persuader)

knowing damnation
never more than a thought
away; even this realization
(having read the Revelation)
has never been enough
to alter my deep clay pace;

this is not why
to You, and to You, alone,
I pray…

but I run to You
after having tried
my own proven
feeble-way;

I come to You with
clearer eyes; as my
ego philosophy dies,
impaled on its own
lance of lies...

falling on its own
long-overdue demise...

world appeal now
seeming smaller when
compared with my own
repenting sighs—as my
once alternative gods
continue to shrivel:
lowly retreating
admitting defeat;

I come to You,
as one looking not
above, but as one
having determined,
there is no
life worth pursuing
outside Your
benevolent love….

Her

All i want is to roll with you in thy grass,
Next to you i want to always pass,
Besides you i wish to dance,
This tune that bares no curse,
Rather the joy of just us.

Lord help me not to tire,
Because this,I want to take it higher,
Lord help me not to be a lair,
Because I know she can not stand a lair,
Deep inside it burns quietly, but the effects can be seen, the fire.

She, I'll follow,
I'll treasure her because she is too good to be ranked below,
I can not explain but it can glow,
And everything acts just like a blow,
Sincerely what i feel,I only know.

I will sing, though I am not the best singer,
I will dance to my best, though I am not the best dancer,
I will tell of her good deeds, though i am not the best taller,
I will do my best to persuade her though i know i am not the best persuader,
I will do everything, so that in her heart i can be the only ruler.

The Hidden Persuader

Leave me alone!
I won't buy what is not my taste,
Go sell to another for my eyes hope
And searches for another that satisfies.
Don't entice me with your sugar coated
Tongue full of lies and deceit,
Don't deceive me with your words.

Advertise to that woman over there
Maybe you can control her choice,
But you can't control mine evenly,
I want a pepsi not Coca Cola.
Don't persuade me to go against
My will, you hidden persuader.

I don't look at any face to make decision
Neither do I burn bridges I may need to cross again.
As far as possible, I see to everything myself,
You cannot take advantages of my emotions,
I don't need your security and fame
You make me believe I need and want your product,
But I don't really need it, my dear,
I don't want it, don't manipulate my innocent feelings.

Leave me alone!
You hidden persuader, reaping from where you didn't
Sow.
All your promises on the products are lies
And your lies create fear and doubt in me.
Advertisers are liars, the promise of their products
Are never true as they claim to be.

Origins

Like the tale
Of the sun and the wind
Coaxing the coat off a man
Each poem inspires another

The wind is the enforcer
Using brute strength to get his way
The sun is the persuader
Soft and warm and winning

The chicken or the egg?
Oh that oh so old dispute

If a tree falls in the forest
Does it make a sound?

Yes, if a poet ever heard the question
While eating a chicken omelet.

Where did Wolverine really come from?
I'll probably watch the movie after I finish the comic
Like Rose
I believe in kindness.

The tiger or the lady?

Maybe both

Seeking to be the creator of her own testaments
To overcome her past
She wishes to live a life of worship

She walks her path
With her heart open
Influenced and inspired
By the stories and questions of others.

Flower Fury

Cloudy day
Daisy shivers
As Nature's enforcer blusters and blows
The persuader is no where in sight
Daisy isn't happy
She'd rather hide too,
But that's not her destiny

She straightens her stem
And furls out her petals
She gathers her anger
And pollinates the world

Wouldn't it be wonderful if all rage could be expressed so beautifully?
