Luna appears
pale, pocked,
and blemished by time;
rising majestically above the horizon
to traverse the ebony dome
of the night sky.
And as a Goddess,
She sits high above the planet,
monitoring the comings and goings
of humanity:
an unenviable enterprise.
For Man is a pernicious invader:
polluting the pristineness of space
with thousands of bits of accumulated junk.
And yet, it seems, nothing can dampen
Man's enthusiasm
for the exploration of space.
No matter the irretrievable, encircling debris,
left orbiting the Earth in His wake
as He attempts to touch the face of God.

Sheriff became racist verified as vicious;
His actions are presumed to be pernicious;
Undeniable;
Unreliable;
Whatever he does we became suspicious.

After looking at synonyms for pernicious,
seems like they all apply to both Trump
and here comes the Sheriff.
Towns have been built up on low land
with artificial drainage produced. My
lot is a mile from the Lockwood Folly
River and is 35 feet up from sea level.
This is why we built here.

Pernicious Goddess

I remember the loathing looks you gave,
Lashing out like i misbehaved,
I can still taste your fist as i stood brave,
How could you be so malevolent, so depraved,
I did nothing but love you, as your hate you engraved,
All over my face, In one crashing wave,
You said you loved me, but your actions misgave,
I wanted to leave and tried to stay strong but caved,
I opened the door for your return, this unsightly road I alone paved,
Now i sit alone staring at you, hopelessly enslaved.

It only happened once, that fluttering,
I saw the eminence of your beauty, so enticing,
I read the words on your lips, as my own were quivering,
They touched, I froze, You moved forward embracing me,
I realize now that it was always you, to whom i was waiting,
We never exchanged words, and yet now its only your love i am attaining,
We sit and talk, everything you say, to me, is exhilarating,
I couldn't imagine life without you, what i feel is never fading,
You saw through my own lack of character, abating,
When it came to you, it was well worth waiting.

My Pernicious Thoughts

My pernicious thoughts
is loosing me,
unscrewing me,
and killing me.

My scary musings
is taking me
on a rigmarole
to nowhere, it seems

Like a vagabond
with no direction,
it keeps pulling me
to all directions.

And surely soon
it will leave me blue.
One mighty pull will it take
to fill me full again.

My pernicious thoughts
keeps loosing me,
unscrewing me,
and killing me.

And, i can't fight it.

A Pernicious Trot

Springing with a boom zooming through the crowds,
Short rhythmic bursts of churning rage,
High octane rating strong gripping treads;
A two-wheel wonder of our sophisticated age.

Hard ridden machine crushing with pain,
Passing scenes with speeding cars,
Illusions veiled in the rattle of chains;
Super drain for thrust the three horsepower.

Deep pull for breath unnerving gushes of air,
Quick sprint for life rapid leap towards glory,
Fast nauseating climb oil dampened shudders;
Grinding gallop to speed wild reverberating fury.

This way and that low energetic drives,
The way into adventures a way of life.

Pernicious Pols

Drivel and
snivel or
swivel the words
to trivialize
the lies
and semantic games
played in the names
of citizens like ... Joe.

Pronounce
to pounce
and renounce
an opponent
in a smear word war waged
beneath our collective contempt.

Like the proverbial
snake with the pernicious
forked tongue,
they speak
to squeak
in rhymes of rot
caring not
for the confusion
delusion
of hopes lying shattered
in the booth.

Go ahead and vote
but don't gloat,
for the bloat
and secrecy
will always be.

Pernicious

another train passes
along the tracks of an addict
sweet liquid poppy
never was a good parent
although one may be found
at your nearest stop and go
anything to escape
those white picket fences

many clean shaven men
have stepped from the closet
lost in a woman's world
as guilt sends them to repent
within a cenobitic community
it is there they learn true love
yet remain confused
by the closed door of confession
which has become just another closet

a sixty year old maiden teacher
has settled for early retirement
to pursue an education of bliss
forfeited for the benefit of others
deflowered by a tainted gardener
marking an early exit from life
another lesson taught......
