Programing a VCR and other terrors
In the old days
I used to dread
the chore
of programing my VCR
just never got the hang
of doing that
the VCR sat there
taunting me
begging me
to do it
to her
but I just never could
learn how to program
that damn machine

Smoking a cigarette, how stupid was that
Suckered in like so many, smoked pack after pack
Weird!!! Made us choke
Sucking in smoke
How ridiculous was that, common sense we lacked
I have 20,080 magazines and 400 books.
Each sadly out of date as soon as a reader takes a good look.
My house is full of them, in disturbing crannies and armchair crooks.
Spider webs are hanging off some near the ceiling, like grappling hooks.
I would let you come around and go through them, take a giant courtesy look
But I'm embarrassed by the multitude of out-of-date magazines and books.
