It's the spherical objects in these galaxies,
That revolves and rotates
Brightened by the light from the red star not so far,
Fissions of helium.
Ever orbiting path never missing the track,
Kepler noted for us.
Apart from all, geometry in the cosmos,
Rapt its solidity.
Ever amazing facts that make us in this blue,
Marbled, as seen from space.
Deep, abyssal it enclosed in the Oort cloud rings,
Particles years apart.
We keep our time according to its deft motions,
Settings move in their ways
Rockets to visit neighbors in the Nebula,
A telescopic, view.
get beguiled by meteors those showers sometimes,
Falling fire from above.
Spectacles sparkling from afar, hitting at times,
Yet we feel safe as part
Wonder how the crates in our moon shaded airless,
Dimples it bore for us.
All seemed its static stationed somewhere with its moon,
What a place, we call home.

We come from the Kuiper belt,
Or from the Oort cloud,
We’re bodies of the solar system,
Guess who we’re?
If we’re short lived,
We come from beyond the Neptune’s orbit,
If we’re long lived,
We come from that spherical cloud.
We’re filled with ice,
And we’re so cold,
And when we pass the sun,
Our tail we show.
We wander here and there,
As we’re the child of our space home,
But we’re so selfish,
As we’re rarely visible to you.
Sometimes we’re visible before sunrise,
Or after sunset,
And you look at our tail an’ see,
Our beauty.
We’re icy,
We appear to be white,
Like white dust,
Or like white feathers.
But we’re so sorry,
We know that we hardly come to you,
But don’t mind that,
Because it’s our Nature!

Slit luscious green eyes
Lips fire red with passion
Tongue too tight to break the ice
Atmosphere steaming with tension
Fingertips tingle with anticipation
At the profile of her mountain peaks
Fragile aura – stirring perfumed lotion
Italian opera – when she speaks
I’m a hard rock from Oort
She said, I’m a flame from Venus
First time this side of the belt?
First contact - extreme - fire and smiles

The Oort Cloud Cometh
A few million years from now if we are here
Comets by the thousands will appear
Sent by cosmic forces originated from out there
Science says the Oort cloud is to blame
Some odd unseen entity called Nemeses is also named
A planet or black sun gone rogue
Gone wrong along the way
In elongated odd elliptic orbit
A distant anomaly around our sun will form
Mysteriously align at Oort cloud and collide
In a moment of eccentricity by chance
It hurls millions of object free in our direction
Without detection, meteors and comets head for Earth
Catastrophe is sure to follow if not deflected
I hope we find defense by then
If not, since we are already dead, long before this event
Why the pretense? Why pretend?
What would it mean in any case
If the Earth should shatter
It will only move our graves to outer space
With other matter

The Great Comet of 2013
By Elton Camp
Recently from the Oort Cloud it originated
An astonishing show for the earth is slated
And it should be arriving relatively soon
With a brightness greater than the full moon
If correctly astronomers the evidence do read
The Hale-Bopp Comet of 1997 it’ll far exceed
Comets were once viewed as a great mystery
ISON may excel any in all of human history
It may even arouse superstitious dread and fears
Since it will be visible from both hemispheres
Yet, astronomers cannot be certain of its fate
As it nears the sun, it could even disintegrate
A once-in-a-civilization’s lifetime it could be
A possibility, but we’ll have to wait and see
(Note: This is not to be confused with the much lesser comet that may appear in March of 2013. This, however, may become the “year of the comet.”)
