Until it's time to pop my clogs,
shuffle off this mortal coil,
I'll ensure my life is fun-filled
not just daily drudgery and toil.
As all work and no play
would make me one dull boy,
listless, senseless, bored witless,
not my Mother's pride and joy.
And so, in closing, I'm compelled to say,
"Exercise free will,
don't wait, hesitate or trust to fate,
before you're over the hill."

The woods never yawned
at the end of my stories
The streams never laughed
when I stuttered in haste
The mountains stood firm
when I lost my last footing
The sky understanding
in joy or disgrace
These natural things
forever behold me
Forgiving my weakness
rewarding my nerve
Their arms reaching out
through each change of the season
Pulling me onward
— my voice undeterred

Gradually, the stars and the full decided
to move onward,
And the golden dawn appeared as the bright
sun rose into daylight;
Blessed to be perpendicular, to labors of love,
I moved onward:-

Looking back, while looking forward
Am I really sate to go
Backwards, when I’m going onward
Pacing fast and sometime slow
One road ends, then goes another
Same exactly as the old
Where to go to, moving further
Do I really have a goal
Maybe I’m amnesiac
Partly this explains my doubts
If the memory I lack
Sends me back to same old grounds
How come that I feel uncertain
Within this unconscious drift
Pull down, or pull back the curtain
Either way makes no big diff.

Life is for the living
It is for a short a season
Whatever life throws at you
Receive it with equanimity and move on
When you make mistakes as all mortals sometimes do
Do not run away from God
Rather run to Him and make amends
And move on with determination
On your onward journey
And God will see you through
For He loves you so much
That He gave you His only son
To die a shameful death on the cross
So that you may be saved if only you believe

Over the rocky terrain
Over the mountains high
Over the choppy seas
Onward we struggle by
Still we brave the day
Still we stand and fight
Still we forge ahead
Onward through the night
With passion we live our lives
With honor we ever grow
With hope we dream our dreams
Onward and upward we go

Ever Onward Into the Light and Beyond
Ever-Rising, The Ethereal Psalm
where Fire and Stars within Collide
a Paradise of Wisdom, a Flower Of Life
Ever-Inward Into realms Untouched
where the Souls Ablaze, In This I Trust
Ever-Propelled by the Solar Thrust
I Wind Drift like Stardust,
To Infinity I Must
The Everlasting Golden Pulse,
Ever-Upward The Spirits Cypher
Ever-Enduring, Ever-Righteous
Ever-Triumphant, Ever-Valiant
Forever I Untether Entrapments,
Soul Aura Gleaming On Galactic

Many do not love my direct way
They shy from the truth
many just loved my looks
in my happy youth
some liked the achievements i had and wanted in on my fame
And some thought what I did for a living was kiddie stuff and kind of lame
So it's a conundrum you see, when you talk about me
It's up down sideways philosophy
I am never stagnant and forever growing
and the depth of who and what I am is possibility overflowing
I have walked through fire
and I am full of desire
And I create at the drop of a hat
and in minutes spit out a new artistic rap
My muse is now inside me
and fuels me from within
And my life is invigorated
I know I don't live by whim
Its purpose plan and accomplishment
which will drive my final goals
A story to tell the world
that as of yet was untold
And that my dear is a poem 12-4-23 Artimus (C) Susan Manley

Yet Pushed, Ever Onward, I Dare Tread
BEHOLD, I wade into darkening mists,
My journey, clarification of Fate
When I balked, black ghost said, I insist
Hurry destiny cries, it is too late,
Strolling deep within, horrific the sounds
So strangely pungent the circling winds
In distant valleys, baying of the hounds-
I fear what that hideous sign portends.
Now so afraid, through weeping years I trod
Yet pushed, ever onward, I dare tread
My shield, simply faith in Light and my God
And bushels of truth, to me, life has fed
I pray for salvation of divine light
Blessed ending of this courageous flight.

some days life struggles to define itself
other days the hours roll straight off the shelf
some days fickle wind refuses to blow
other days nothing can stop the wind’s flow
some days start out headed straight toward hell
other days impossible to foretell
will not always be a reason or rhyme
to go with purposeful use of our time
lack of confidence and indecision
second thoughts, stage fright, fear of derision
disturbances which mess with our feelings
existence often complicates being
not always going to be a smooth flow
yet ever onward is where we must go

As a boy
I explored shallow river beds.
I carried home in a jar unnamed water-bugs,
minnows, tadpoles and
little frogs that glowed yellow
when the sunlight swam in the creek.
Now the sun comes to my window,
sheds streams of light
to carry me back
to where shallow waters sing
of all unnamable things.
