   the best nutrient.!

    Hate is rotten fruit,
      spoiled food...

   He who chooses to hate
  is not making the right choice

     sits at the wrong table...!

From Soil to Souls

Food — The gift of soil and hand,
A miracle that sprang from sand,
Quenching hunger, warming souls,
Is the bite and sip from steaming bowls.

The ripened fruits and tender greens,
Eaten with crusty loaf of grains,
With flavours bold, textures sweet,
Making every bite a rare retreat.

A vital force that flows within,
Building bones and mending skin,
Is the dance of taste

Shades of blue spread across the sky
The sun shines over the mountains
The lake reflects colors all around
A clear, cool day, clears my mind
I am grateful to be here to see this
So many times, I could have been stopped
There were often minutes, so close to death
I try to make the best of the time I have

Beneath the Rubble
 

Unfinished artwork waits on the shelf,
     Hidden between dark pages,
Scribbles on paper long to be free.
      
As a lover waits, it too waits, 
      For the breath of life,
Seasons pass without promise.

Food is the nourishment of both mind and body

Nourishment Of Wild

Nourishment of wild,
we forgot where we came from;
It may be too late;

Destroying the sea,
wiping out the whole forest;
No regard for home;

Parasites feeding,
mono crops poaching the land;
Rich soil won’t come back;

Humanity’s ills
leveled with nature’s fury;
Violent minute storm;

It’s over in an instant;
The faithless now filled with hope.

Milk Factory

She kisses away the weariness,
Burdens – inklings of the mystery
Birthed by her dream, hope
Remembered in the evening when
The calf nuzzled – her nourishing, nurturing
Gentle as the soft, dark eyes – bleeding
Tenderness

The new calf stands, wobbly
Trembling – taking each tiny step
With quivering legs, long and sturdy,
Urging him to begin to live, to risk
Falling

She licks him over

Plea for Spiritual Nourishment

Revival cries my soul in need
Struggling against guilt of sin-breed
Then comes heaven’s refreshing

Nourishment

It’s coffee over tea for me
And bagels over bread.
My other drink of choice is beer
Or, rarely, wine instead.

I like my veggies crunchy,
Even if they’re somehow cooked,
And on pizza or on pasta
I could live ‘cause I am hooked.

My day would not be happy
Without cheese and also fruit,
Plus some cake or pie or cookies,
With an ice cream

The sun shines on me with gray skies in the distance
Walls of green trees stand between and a warm wind blows
As it dries the wet ground and puddles disappear
The rain has stopped for now after many downpours
I walk between different shades of weather,
Always knowing how fast things can change
It is nice to see the sun

A Outstretched Hand

What will I do?
How will I survive?
If they only knew
How much I need…
The hamburger
Potatoes, carrots
All the corn they 
Never realize
Sustains me

Despite my shame
I hurry toward the line
Where I’ll hide my desire
My hunger, my yearning
Beneath shadowed eyes
Behind a shallow smile

What will I do?

Do they not see
The worry in my eyes?

Sun
shining
across the
horizon, bright
whispering joy, hope
glimmering life
over the
lovely
rose

Rain
splatters
from the sky
singing graceful
songs that ring laughter
into the soul
raising smiles
across the 
miles

Earth
awake
brilliantly
praising heaven
with open palms, raised
to display hope
that comes from
knowing
grace

Pouring down the pane, singing
It’s the praise of soft rain
Gentle, like a sweet kiss falling
On whispering, hopeful lips

Gracious and gifted with faith
Painting the countryside in hues
Of misty gray music, forgiving
Thriving on the nourishment 
It drenches with life, a pure diet
On black earth and vibrant petals
Caressing, like laughter
Dancing on the hope of a hereafter
