No news is good news how true today
dying media rotting is the truth decays
Just report the facts and let us decide
why the nastiness, meanness and lies
Never even facts just ugly speculation
grabbing headlines for ratings sensation
Ruined lives innocent hurt for their fun
can reputations be repaired when lies undone
Stopped watching national media long ago
happier without the trauma they impose
Crisis and threats pile up each moment of the day
doom and gloom besieges using fear to persuade
Nothing is good, their bias always right, all is bad
never time for gladness must remain sad and mad
toxic narratives leads to violence galore
their sick believers only want more
Don't need em, won't listen to them anymore
they are fake news with falsehoods I deplore.
No news is good news, they say
I thoroughly agree
I had no news today
No news is good to see
Old news remain the same
As always and before
But I don’t play that game
I qualify no more
I read the items labels
I need to know the truth
How much of carbohydrates
They’re selling me to use
I watch the youtube travels
Without a sound, just views
No mysteries unraveled
That is the best of news
I’m playing cards with AI
I’m reading books I’ve read
I don’t exploit my eyesight
With other people’s bread
And other people’s wine
Which I will never taste
Because I’ve some of mine
My little news to waste.
you took me down to Eastbourne boarding school
to offer me a palliative
to cure my dyslexia
I lived for your letters
until the teachers got it
to a fine art
" No news is good news"
Each teacher telling they cured you
one naturally took exception
Latin and French lessons seemed to be a distraction
I needed English
Every pupil a curates egg
their backgrounds so prosaic
The cat with three legs
and the whipping tails of the Heads Labradors'
And preparing strawberries
with the Dutch chef
told me I missed my North London abode.
No news is good news; the known saying goes
Whether stated in prose, or its meted in rhyme
That's the outlook it seems the eu's designed
Whether covid or conflict, they play the same way
There's no voice of dissention, allowed; it's all bad
Yet they're in control of its outflow, and in general
That's sad' Maybe RT was biased? to a certain extent'
Yet people did watch, and so adjudge; on its bents
I could always turn it off though; and often I did'
I didn't need a big brother, with volumes of kid'
So they believe the known saying then..)
(No news is good news) yet straighten their ties
Slap on greasepaint; and polish their shoes'
Then feed out, even more jollop
To you'se; thats no lies'
I have listened to your stories
You're very good at what you do
The fear you've kept inside our heads
With all your doom and gloom
They say no news is good news
To leave it out you think is best
Plus you can't be bothered
With the little thing that they call facts
This has gone on so long you see no wrong
In how you spread the news
Well time is up Mr. and Mrs. Media
You're like the little boy who cried wolf
You've lead us on for so long
Some of us are starting to see
That in the wake of what you say
It's mostly make believe
You've fooled us once, fooled us twice
So why not try a few more times
It's monkey see, monkey do
As these blind monkey's follow you
You think a noble fight is being fought
But it's more like bought and sold
Where you'll go down in history
As the media who cried wolf
So you can scream the sky is falling
Or the Big Bad Wolf is at the door
What's the word they say...oh yea "FAKE"
As we don't believe you anymore...
The doctor had not gotten the paper work back from Atlanta so he could
not say what they said..
No news is good news so they say..
He put me on a heart monitor to wear for 24 hours..
So another trip back to the doctor tomorrow..
No news is good news we’ve all heard that before
that said I’d like less bills when I open my mailbox door.
If it bleeds it leads with more than enough yellow journalism
where facts are shifted and twisted then shown through a tainted prism
then a little tease to keep you hanging through long commercial breaks
this isn’t the news we’re being abused and it’s giving me a headache.
"What A Week"
What a week I've had,it's been so hard,I don't know where to start
I did'nt think I'd make it,fair dinkum,I mean it,I thought I'd fall apart,
So many mixed emotions,a roller coaster ride
Not one that I could simply take, peacefully in my stride.
II wondered how I made it,I'm pretty sure I did
And if I have'nt,and I'm not there,It's because I ran and hid.
The cooking and the cleaning, the shopping and the bills
No wonder Doc has prescribed for me,so many differant pills.
The weather was'nt fair at all,it's mood would change like mine
Although I could'nt read it at all,I never got a sign.
The dogs been barking madly,my son's been restless too
I really thought I'd lose it badly,I'd be better off with the flu.
There's been no phone calls,and that's okay
No lettersin the mail,no-one to say good-day.
They say no news is good news, and I've always believed that's so
But when you've had a week like this,I'm not quite sure I know.
So now,I've winged and wigned so much, about the week I've had
And I don't want another one like this, especially one so bad.
