songs of winter

trees rustle
sea of dreams
rustle trees

winter of songs
sings

Deep in the hollow the night at its height,
Song of the nightbird echoing in the quiet,
Stillness as that of the past in our hearts,
As once again the nightbird starts,
Call of the wild in the deep groove,
The nightbird on a constant move,
All across the forest drizzling raindrops,
Shining sapphires, the lovely dew drops,
Reflection in silence in nature’s abode,
Away from the bustle of the angry road,
Tenderly gripping, the greeness of the new,
To the beginnings of those touching the blue,
Magic of the moonlight so mesmerising,
A flurry of emotions slowly arising,
Whispering quietly the flow of the brooks,
Melodies bursting from hidden nooks,
Songs of silence filling the quiet,
Deep in the hollow the night at its height......

Room full of candles, crystals and paintings
Well and this one is my little masterpiece...
De ja vu in my silver and black I am pulled
back in a flash like lightning from out of the
midnight blue to a certain place and time
but I never did ask forever from you.
And as the Nightbird sings in the shadow
of moonlight it overcomes me like some kind
of ghostly possession in the dead of the night
haunted by the coming storm I am no stranger
toxin my heart and in my life but it's just another
lesson learned where my higher self is concerned.
The thunder breaks like an earthquake and the
Nightbird takes to flight.
Oh but in my room full of candles, crystals and
paintings,
this is my little masquerade of dreams…
In my silver and black well I am thrown back in
a blaze of lightning from out of the dark mountain
sky to a certain place and time but never did I
ever ask you why...

You were but three inches tall that day
When I heard you cry and ran outside
To stand between you, my beloved owl
And a swooping hawk, wings three-feet wide
Little me, new born owl of the night
Staying in my wooded habitat
Being brave enough to venture out
Golly, Ollie, thinking what was that
Each night you have serenaded me
But today I bring sad news, sweet friend
I must move away and leave you here
Our life together's about to end
To part, but in different places
The lovely times we shared together
This so sad Barn Owl and his neighbour
We two birds will always be tethered
And when the moon overcomes the sun
I'll listen for your cries o'er the waves
Your gentle croon brought peace and comfort
It's a memory my heart will save
