“This heat clearly
has me beat,'
she said, 'it nearly
knocks me off my feet, and,”
then paused for a rest
long enough I deemed
for what seemed
an eternity
sufficient to warrant at best
a pregnancy
if not paternity test
which put me off my stride
as unable to read
the space between the lines
and in a quandary
not wishing to strain
the body and brain
or neurons scatter
within the grey matter
yet knowing who the boss is
decided to cut my losses
and as discretion
is the better part of valour
to make a confession
I gave up my place plus my seat
picked up the pace
and made a somewhat hasty retreat

Brains beam back connections as dreams
While sorting much data in streams
But these mind fables
Come with graphic labels
Like symbols in Microsoft Teams

The air feels dark.
What a curse
to know I'm alone
the last on the ship
drifting through space.
The ice creeps up my hand
I know I didn't make it -
when the rubble hit
a hole broke through
and the universe became silent.
Let me float amongst the stars and freeze,
at least I won't be there when Earth is vacant.

She began her journey
Encased in peaceful waters
Developing and growing
Into an orphaned daughter
Thrown out onto grassy shores
Left for dead, in her blood
Before she could draw breath
She was unjustly judged
...forsaken
Compassion picked her up
And delivered her to care
She found tools to survive
Under weights too heavy to bear
Always getting through
To moments, disappointing at best
Finding treasure and truth
But nothing to invest
...in LOVE
War, fight, dissonance
Always fuzz on the line
No clear communication
With anyone divine
Piece by piece, step by step
He led...she rested and fed
On waters erupting in her soul
Snakes out of the water
Sludge cleared in flow
Til she finally came to know
...whole

The void beneath the synaptic cleft
Place of precision warp and weft
Neurons are space ships fired at will
With dying breath then they still
Billions of neurons drive my brain
Trying to understand~it is in vain
Neurons are sparking as I contemplate
What next to write then I vacillate.
Second by second day after day
Neurons are friends as I wend my way
Different at night when deeply asleep
Neurons fire backward ~ we are unique.
Warp and Weft:
The art of weaving is a subtle metaphor for understanding the workings of the universe and our place in it.

There are about 86 billion neurons in each human brain
Methinks there are far less in some, it's desolate terrain
But others like this piece of cheese
Can stun you with such ease
Even blow my own mind, I'm on a different “plane”
