Wind lashed fronds whip a neck twisting air.
Florida bleeds green.
A large woman in a rainbow muumuu,
a toy poodle pushed tightly into her folds
wades into the storm determined
to bring a hurricane to heel.
The land has now flooded high enough
to expose alligator snouts.
The Cajun navy hoists its Jolly Roger,
golf carts are boarded,
elderly men in white and tartan shorts
are reluctantly rescued.
A badly shaken sunset dives for cover.
Along an invisible shoreline Tiki lights
twinkle on.

Chillin on the patio me and my Daddio
Jammin on the radio on my Bro's stereo
Then came a loco girl from Cocomo
She wore a thin muumuu doing quite a show
The music got too too loud oh don't you know
Then the Popo made a sudden cameo
They said oh no the radio had to go
Or it was bye bye for me and my Daddio
So it was bye bye radio on the patio
Then the muumuu went away very slow
Since there was just no no other place to go
The party on the low low on the kitchen flo

AQUAMARINE waves kiss the shore as gulls fly overhead.
CRIMSON Geraniums hang in baskets on the porch.
We've planted LAVENDER outside the garden gate for luck,
and lined the driveway with LILAC bushes.
There is a LEMON tree and a TANGERINE tree in the back yard.
They offer shade and luscious fruit.
I don my best CHARTREUSE muumuu and a CORAL necklace and bracelet,
with a SAFFRON colored ribbon in my hair to welcome my guests.
We will sit in the garden and sip WATERMELON wine,
as we discuss my new home and what to do with it.
This will be where I will come to enjoy nature and find peace.
It will be the place where I will come to retire in this quaint little village.
It will be my sanctum sanctorum.
My little house by the sea.

Little Lulu, a cute little girl.
in her sundresses loved to just twirl.
Around she kept going,
pink underpants showing.
Her life would become one big “whirl.”
In grade school, she grew to be wild.
Upside down, in the playground, this child
from the monkey bar hung
in her sundress among
all the boys standing round her, who smiled!
As a teen, Lulu still loved to wear
a sundress to make young men stare.
She was thought a great sport
when she wore a dress short,
legs crossed as she sat in a chair.
Little Lulu was so hot to trot
her affection by many was sought
till that cute buttercup
got finally knocked up.
Then a white wedding sundress she bought!
The years crept up quickly on Lulu.
On her porch she now stands and calls, “You-hoo!”
to every old guy
who might give her the eye
as she twirls the huge skirt of her muumuu!
