My heart is a bird that forgot to migrate

Fly, bird, why don't you fly away?
And the bird still stays
Even though it knows its a bad place to be

The bird's stuck there
Because its the only place it knows where to go
The only place it'll call home

And it knows there's somewhere
It can go and be safe
And the bird will like it

But it can't.
It wonders what it'll do
If the bird really did take flight
But it'll stay behind

My heart is a bird-
Who forgot to migrate

Bird on warm island.
It is time to migrate north.
Bird thinks, "Why bother?:

This was not my imagination
For I was alert and sober,
When I witnessed an odd migration
At midday, in early October

A dying leaf held me in it's spell
Tumbling passed limbs and bark,
Twisting and turning as it fell
And transforming into a monarch

Emerged a newborn butterfly
Just before it hit the ground,
Taking wing toward the sky
Helped by the wind around

Freed from her rooted tree
Let go, like a child's balloon,
A split decision it had to be
With no time for a cocoon

I watched as it beat about
New spots of orange and black,
Confidently and without a doubt
That it would not be coming back

Away she flew up into the sun
And my eyes I tried to shade,
To glimpse before this dream was done
Because in the distance she would fade

Answered were all my quandaries
Before this leaf met the grass,
Proving there are no boundaries
That Mother Nature could surpass

How could she be so agile
Soaring on paper thin wings?,
How something frail and fragile
Could do extraordinary things!

Migrate

One afternoon fatigued I fell asleep
and dreamed of wings,
since then i have been migrating.
In my gamble of life
I have wagered my happiness,
and lost my path.

As a bird bid farewell to the leaves,
falling to the Autumn breeze.
Stretching its own wings
to a new shelter beyond the seas.
will it fare well among the trees?
or the nest be pestered by snakes.

Days passing by as a fluttering butterfly.
The wind was blowing in the wrong direction.
Heavy wings in rain, can they carry me home.
Counting the feathers from my broken wings.
By the swing of the reaper's scythe, someday
I will resign to my sweet eternal sleep in peace.

To Miami Must Migrate

To Miami Must Migrate

To Miami people must have to migrate
Then stand in line while they will wait
One had been riding on a brown horse
We noticed was completely off course.

Migrants were caught betwixt and between
Bring both passport and card that is green
And they become annoyed and exploded
Passport and green card had been voided.

Parents brought daughter who was a beaut
Not only that, she forgot her bathing suit
So instead of people wanting to impress
She wore Jane jewelry and a long dress.

When in Miami you have to obtain consent
Of tall, handsome man, great travel agent
Your hair was beautiful and a bright blue
Yet still he wanted to come along with you.

You both sure must have looked weird
while standing together under the weather.
