What do I see when I look into the persistence of memories?
Does it carry the same effect if my eyes were microwaved?
Would the clocks be suddenly corrected
Or shall they be straighter than the vision of Dali's
Melting in the feelings of the sunlight should they be saved?
Mine are are mine, though no matter how they're erected
Give it your best shot; to understand if their just follies

Last week on Wednesday
I was thinking the same thought
I am thinking today.
Time gets dazed out of mind,
gets rotated and recycled.
Each day is a next card
in an unshuffled pack.
The repetition is comforting
a pillow for a dazed head,
a microwaved chicken dinner
you can warm up once again.
The same can always
trip you up, make you see
the probability
of yet more stones upturned.
Wednesday gets dressed,
walks out into the early shine
finds a stone to overturn
nothing to see
but last week a millipede
wriggled away
marking another day.

Born unto a century after the fact
What can i say ?
That has not been said already
Everything i say
Feels like i am just copying the cat
Word's of love and passion have
been overdone
So to is pain and loss
The changing season's are 2 a bit
And both history and dystopian future
are 10 to the dozen
All that's left is microwaved leftovers
And combing through the archives
For something or anything
Left or better unsaid
That nobody as has yet discovered
But is worthy of repeating

Tepid water from the bathroom tap
Washes my face with a flanneled slap
The water trickles between my fingers
My reflection in the mirror now lingers
Whilst I study the dampened brow
My face portrays the years unbowed
The morning’s call a morning news show
Tells me a lot more than I want to know
Microwaved wheat- bix and milk spooned
As I ponder the morning’s gloom
No anticipation of the coming day
Just a routine hum-drum not delayed.

Eating my microwaved Salisbury steak
Pretending winter is gone
Saving pennies to move our trash from A to B
Humming a sad little song
Writing memos and signing them well
What would happen if I actually fell?
Arguing religion with a guy from Maine
Taking my mind off the constant pain
Stepping out in the cold to smoke
Laughing life off like a joke
Tomorrow is the same as today
So I guess I might as well stay

Our grandson Tony had never eaten bacon until he came to our house.
He was four, completely deprived, raised by parents who obviously did not care about him.
What is it? He asked us.
Bacon, and not that awful cardboard-tasting turkey crap.
That truly is what came out of my summer mouth, as I can cuss in the summer, and I do lavishly.
My husband tried to give me the stop-that-eye, but we have known each other for years,
And it has never worked on me.
Try it, he told our grandson.
He kept eating and we kept fixing.
First we microwaved it, then we let him watch it sizzle and fizzle in a pan.
He wanted to move in with us.
We let him eat two pounds of it.
Grandparents without limits.
We sent him home fifteen pounds heavier
With two new cuss words.

Rainbow lips smiling shaped my joy
I heard birds of paradise singing
as she spoke
When she was asking me
for directions,
my thoughts got lost in translation
Such virgin beauty was foreign to me,
a battle-scarred heart
vegetated marching
to the skin war of the sexes drumbeat
I drank the poison potion before,
and died emotionally
A tempting pain elixir
that pleasure seeped into the belly —
It turned my legs to jelly,
had my dinner desires microwaved telly
Got my brain screaming: Whoa, Nellie!
Now I’m wondering,
what in the curved V is wrong with me
This dual repeat
is happening with much stronger
aorta telltale intensity
Inward prisoner of hope
got iron cell released
And I don’t even know her name, yet ...
But a baby ask
is gonna feed my curiosity
High pitch fever ~ daydream revelry
Helium infatuated new love
has inflated my dual inward curved V

ON BEING A SAUSAGE ROLL
Our other sausage acquaintances are real –
Flavoured, pigmented, heated
By boiling or frying :
They have their dignity, though they too be eated.
Our natural features, our inner glories,
Are pastry-coated and abide
In small bags from ye take-away,
All similar and eaten cold outside.
Or at best saucered and microwaved
With ketchup to add insults :
Not only hidden under pastry,
Yea also ‘neath red chemical lab results.
Never are we savoured like frankfurters
Or slowly chewed like wurst.
We are hurriedly snapped up like cakes and ale
By a fat eater ready to burst
In a line of crawling traffic,
Or in a static bus queue.
Inside an expanding waistline - Zwounds
Ye fat paunch - with no limit in view.
But soft! Life on the savoury pastry shelf
Is a production line existence - not a role.
Oh, to shuffle off this pastry coil -
I’m just another sausage roll.

a question of definition
camping?
luxuries au wilderness
juxtaposition
air conditioned lassitude
with untouched raw nature
three piece baths
next to outhouses
wheels rolling through trees
electric lights break
the pristine dark
camp-fire-crackle ambiance
food microwaved
hot running water, lakeside
even the chipmunks shun
mere bread
for more sumptuous fare.

Witchy, with a big fat wart
so horrid not a man would court.
She could have shed it with a spell,
so handsome men would ring her bell.
But Witchy's not the sharpest tool.
In conjuring, she was the fool.
A spell to be craved and adored.
She giggled as her magic poured.
Now she sits upon a log.
Just a big old slimy frog.
Toads adore her big fat wart.
Droves of them hop by to court.
Handsome men, her legs do crave;
fried in a pan or microwaved!

Friend to pancakes and scrambled eggs
Slices of heaven from succulent pigs
No sleepy head can stay asleep
Bacon's aroma makes taste buds weep
No cheeseburger can survive
When Bacon is piled up high
The sandwich of the gods
Bacon from the meat of hogs
Flavor savor smells so good
Eat it Eat it you know I would
Save the grease for extra flavor
Bacon is the taste I favor
Bacon bits make a salad palatable
Bacon strips make liver eatable
Bacon is the real deal
Bacon Bacon for every meal
Bacon cooked with cabbage
Without it life is savage
Bacon is a dog's favorite treat
Forget Fido let me eat
Smoked with hickory or applewood
Cured with sugars is understood
Crisp or chewy Yum Yummy Yum
Maple or peppered give me some
Baked, microwaved or fry
Without it kiss life goodbye
Bacon Bacon fills my freeza
Best part of any pizza
Bacon can never be eaten raw
Buy precooked if no time to thaw
Bacon makes a wonderful jerky
Bacon is pork never turkey.

Standing head and shoulders
Above seated students
Professing all he knows
And much he doesn't
Through squeaky chalk
Bored with lessons learned
Tattered black jacket collar
Covered with white dust
Like the dandruff
Of faded knowledge
Waiting for the last bell
And cacophony of students
Exiting for a night on the town
So he can trudge through
The gray slush home
To empty house and
Microwaved sirloin tv dinner
Wishing he had a yipping poodle
Instead of the silent company
Of Jim Beam to while away his hours
