Let's Go Mets
If you think it best, I'll go away
And wait alone until someday
We'll meet that day at Citi Field
Behind home plate in seats that yield
The perfect shot for the kiss cam
I'll kiss you first then take your hand
And with my hand atop your ring
The ring of promise that you'll bring
I'll ask you if you'll marry

After the Mets Victory
Sitting here on the fabled Lower East Side
I watch the electric warriors on my TV screen
7 innings of shut out ball for the Mets
But relievers came in and gave up a few runs
Victory is sweet
But they rarely let a pitcher pitch 9 innings anymore
Would have been nice to see Noah Syndegard

Reflections of An Aging Mets Fan
Been a fan of the New York Metropolitans
since the beginning
The early teams were hapless
Leading Casey S to ask
"Can anybody here play the game?"
This year they started out 10 and 1 -
a record rarely matched in baseball
New manager , new hopes
They managed to take the series in 1969 and 1986
so this season hopefully

The Mets Or the Met
Should one watch sports or
go see great art
Why not do both ?
After all Carl Sandburg wrote a poem
about baseball
and he was an artist
No. I don't draw as well
as the old masters
but I do enjoy doodling

An Aging Mets Fan Responds
In the exhibition game today
The Mets are battling the Yankees
I remember the early Mets
Kranepool and Hunt come to mind
Baseball defines this country
As it did in the movie "Field of Dreams"
I read in a men's magazine
that a ballplayer made it into a prestigious poetry magazine
The years come and go
A new

A Journey Into the Ny Mets
The game continued on TV in the Big Apple
I even talked my mother into watching it
The N.Y. team played well and triumphed!
My team - the Mets - the one I support
I played catcher 45 years ago
If I had focused more - who knows

Ny Mets Blues
Now I see
that
World Series time
has arrived
Seems to me that something
is missing there
The NY Mets
aren't in it
As a fan from their inception
I remember Mr. Stengel and Art Shamsky(Another Jewish Ballplayer

The Amazin' Mets of 1969
Two National League teams departed New York City
when the Dodgers and Giants left the vicinity.
Both teams went to California out on the West Coast.
The Big Apple was without a National League host.
An expansion four years later brought another team.
Newspaper editor Joan Payson fulfilled a dream.
Again, New Yorkers could see a National League game.
A new team
