Meticulous

it's late
a rustic sound bellows
candles smoke
making love to the open air

I stare in silence
as thoughts dance upon my eyelids
an old Viennese Waltz aroused
where I first saw her silhouette

we succumbed to the night
her light
swirling across the cobblestones

It wasn't just my hands around her throat that took my breath away
it was her eyes begging for more
it was the moon howling
her inner glow
growling to be fed

given
taken
nothing else mattered
but her words
mouthed meticously within my ear

Meticulous Mind

M-eticulous mind of man
A-ims to carefully think;
E-very detail is accurate, as both eyes never blink.

M-eticulous mind all the time
E-xtremely considers correct information;
N-ever will it be negligent,
D-riving away mere speculation.
O-n the twenty-third of January,
Z-ealous and scrupulous attention to everything evil or kind
A-llows the good to prevail by using meticulous mind.

Smicklas So Meticulous

That is true about Tom and Marg Smicklas;
About music are marvelous and meticulous
And perfect to last iota, they have to be;
Are an incredible addition to our community.

It could be clarinet, string, bassoon or a reed;
To hear them play everyone does stampede
And always enjoy what his band has to play;
Should see all of their trophies on display.

Tom has led in college as well as high school
For him have found many fighting a duel
Along with wife who doesn't like to be late;
Her piano and organ playing is really great.

So why should you think that I am some liar
When their music will set whole world on fire;
Now that the Smicklas's are our new friend,
All of our love for music will never end.

Meticulous and Ridiculous

Meticulous and Ridiculous

Writing many poems which may be meticulous
All could be completely, utterly, literally ridiculous
And if you have continued to look all around
You might find each one in the lost and found.

From the very first moment that I saw them
I knew they would be grotesque and grim
And out the window would find them thrown
Like some ugly features made out of silicone.

Maybe my writing might be a mishap
And in the face there once was a slap
Even after further and more consulting
My poems were found to be insulting.

Mr. Meticulous

Using drill-sergeant precision,
the tank rolls through the lab
brimming spastic with drive
expedient to mine approval,
displaying can-do gusto
capable of fawning
up the ladder.

Beneath the hood, he charges
headlong into the viral putty
that liquefies somber knees
before hailing forgiveness
for hampering the fiber
set by vast divinity
never denied.

Decades of genetic sampling
present many puzzle-pieces
for breaking down strength
of code at a cellular level,
like dominoes in a line,
until life's sequence
gets plucked.

The equipment confirms the
databanks stirring premises
of scarred protein markers
and aggressive mitosis, a
triumphant emergence
of a newly patented
corporate life.
