Malleability Poems | Examples

Premium MemberSleeping Thru It

I’ve slept in church
that must be when
I missed the answers.

“When will Christ return?”
I asked, waving my phone,
“I have this handy calendar app.”

"My child," he said, putting a
fatherly hand on my shoulder.
I wiped it off, like a spider web.

I’ll never get to heaven,
I lack the plasticine
malleability of belief.

Steep and Bleak

I found it necessary to get rid of some things
I don't usually argue with myself
so I cut some questioning pieces
those unnecessary chunks, you know?
but I think there's little left of me
I didn't have the naughtiness of this throwaway world
I never had the malleability of the insensitive
my soft and permeable heart dries up easy
dies if the shape of the clouds is not friendly
or feel the cold abandonment
when the roads are steep and bleak
when he hears the menacing rustle
of dark foliage hiding uneasy things
he imagines a block of pain that swells
I actually don't think I was ready
to the wild rage of this life
to these embarrassing final steps
at what point did i forget how to survive?

Courage To Consign Poverty To History Dustbins

Courage to promote humility
Courage to admit your mistakes
Courage to embrace malleability
Courage for noble stakes

To die
To tackle hurdles and obstacles that seem insuperable
To fly high
The flag of integrity for the vulnerable

Whose predicament makes you sick
Although your means seem puny
Dare to kick
Open the door of fortune to the many

Who can’t afford a meal
On their haunted faces no smile to file
Cos to them no big deal
Whether you flaunt designer lifestyle

When their dreams grow leaner
Insufficient sleep on bare floors squeezed in tiny spaces
Like sardines when June weather stings meaner
To rip traces of laughter from faces

Weather beaten, hunger stricken
By force of circumstance
Poverty sunken
In long distances they shamble for every conceivable circumstance

Courage they demand
From you, Mr Big Stuff
Morsels of dry fish from resources you command
Seizing poverty by its neck scruff

Courage to consign poverty to history dustbins
Where you can lock it up
To assuage your conscience and atone for sins
That fill up your steaming coffee cup.

Curiosity Killed the Cat

Curiosity killed the cat
How far will we go
To perpetuate self-destruction
Wallowing in self pity
Until our throats close up.
Staccato sounds and guttural groans
Unintelligible murmurs
Morse code on my shoulder
Giving way to the last request
For open communication.

Curiosity killed the cat
Did you bring your night vision goggles?
We’ll venture deep into the foliage
Tonight we’ll test boundaries.
Is it malleability or elasticity
Of that which we push off from
Trying to reap what we’ve sown
From the greener grass.

Curiosity killed the cat
But the cat was always dead
No fur balls to hack
For strapped to its back
Was a ticking time pack
With old brass buttons
It couldn’t help to press.

The Power of Drugs and Love

The Power of Drugs and Love

There was a time I ruled the world
with a brand new car mentality
using large words to articulate
my aura to sway the gentility
at a certain time in history
but soon I was to segue
to a different malleability

Confident to enter a vice
let freedom ring with Drugs galore
but as time passed on my destiny waned
to an old used car mentality
I had lost my keen acuity
slowly then quickly
to drift into obscurity

With no means to keep myself adrift
a worn out shell of my former self
the time had come to need a lift
with this large simian on my back
that weighed me down so heavily
I had no recourse but to seek
assistance as my will was weak

My kin and friends felt for my plight
and vowed to help me day or night
then began the dauting task
the journey to the Promised Land
with the aid of angels came a cure
God instilled his love in me
and now my heart and soul are pure

In memory to an old friend
