I’ve slept in church that must be when I missed the answers. “When will Christ return?” I asked, waving my phone, “I have this handy calendar app.” "My child," he said, putting a fatherly hand on my shoulder. I wiped it off, like a spider web. I’ll never get to heaven, I lack the plasticine malleability of belief. . **plasticine malleability = Play-Doh like*

Nicely expressed, subtle, searching, bold. Well done.

This makes me sad, for without faith there is no hope. Of course believing simply because you're told to or scared into is is not belief at all. It's the facts leading to belief that must be researched, studied, meditated on. This I have endeavored to do over the past forty years, dear Anais

I was raised Catholic but I reject the Trinity, hell, fate, and many other false ideas. But I do believe there is one true God and that he has some wonderful things in store. For what it's worth...

This is just a poem. I think poems are like essays - the writer must take a position. While I can’t say I believe in the Catholic trinity, that doesn’t exclude the possibility of God or an after-life. There are too many variations of religion. But thank you for your thoughts - I have a skeptical, open mind.
