Premium MemberGods of Gold

God, who created everything,
is God over both man and things.
Pure gold, diamonds, and precious stones
are among the vast treasures He owns.

When men refuse to worship Him,
their ego rises to the brim.
They make for themselves gods of gold,
like people did in days of old.

The gods of gold debase man’s soul
and on his spirit take a toll.
After he at their altars feast
erelong, he will act like a beast.

Worship of God lifts the soul,
transforms men’s hearts, and makes them whole.
The more men feast on God’s pure Word,
the more they become like their God.

Make not for yourself gods of gold,
for they will leave you in the cold.
They cannot give you what you seek,
but will sure leave you up a creek.

Turn to God who made your soul
He wants to cleanse and make you whole.
The gods of gold are all a fraud,
stop trusting them and worship God.

Glitter with Struggles

Some Stars are not made for glittering,
They make for breaking and leave sky
But in myriads of stars,we only
Came to know, the broken one,
Then break down and glitter with struggles.

Premium MemberTrapped In Your Event Horizon

black hole lover

you are

and I,

a prisoner in your event horizon

an astral point of no return

trapped in perpetuum-

two captive hearts

wildly beating

                                  out of sync

time warps, distorts-

cosmic love strings

unravel, become frayed

beyond repair-

despair

the universe

expands then contracts-

entropy inevitable

so too our love-

white hot then space cold

destined to spiral into

insatiable cHaOs

A prisoner I am

in your

salaciously spun silken web

and you

the black widow

enticing me, luring me

until at last I am at your

mercy

pleasure and pain make for an

alchemic, euphoric mix

but prey must be

devoured in the end-

evil fangs penetrate

my flesh

the poison in my blood

entrenched

delirium before demise

still, with my

dying breath

I whisper-

more please

Premium MemberMuhammad Ali And The Pelicans

The man who has no imagination
has no wings…
- Muhammad Ali

 …………………..

They waddle clumsily
on webbed feet not fit
for treading sand
and their folded wings
just add weight to impair
their already awkward gait.
Pelicans are made
for air and water, being
landbound leaves them
deprived of grace.
Sometimes I flounder
like a grounded pelican
on the mud flats of myself.
Dragging my body along
I make for a sorry sight
until I remember I have
the power to imagine wings
and then, with perfect grace,
I take flight.

My Confession

Two plus two is four
In the book of Leviticus
It's hard to ignore
Just in reading you begin to explore
Those little details that belong to the Lord
They say you find Jesus on every page of the bible
But little do they mention the names of His rivals
It's very important and for our survival
That we pay close attention to sins arrival
It may be something that we do everyday
Those little thing that drive God away
The habits we make for our own sake
Trivial to us but to God a mistake
Oh, why am I finding this on this day
How fortunate we have Jesus who washes sins away

Premium MemberYour Day in Paradise

"Somewhere beyond the sinkhole, past the magnolia, under the live oaks, a boy and a yearling ran side by side, and were gone forever." ~ Marjorie Kinnan Rowlings, from The Yearling

In heights above, see a dazzling sun.
Drink fresh air.  It's time you must awake.
Arise, make for the stream by the lake.
On youthful legs, take flight and swiftly run.
Hunt for frogs.  I know you'll catch me one.
Another day in paradise begun,
where clouds float aloft and aspens quake
in heights above.

Enjoy each moment, like a yearling fawn.
In boyhood's days, joyfully partake.
Gaze upon the stars in heaven's wake,
and spy that shooting star before it's gone
in heights above.

Table Topics

Turnips are delicious,
Turmeric is tasty:
Tartlets are officious,
Truffles make for hasty
Toss-ups. It seems vicious,
Turbot served in pasty
Titbits. It’s pernicious!

Premium Membersomnus

sleep god
Somnus
wave your wings like wands
take me
to the magic great beyond
make for my head an earthen pillow
i'll snooze
in the shade of a willow
and when nighttime's silver stars
twinkle
i'll channel my inner Rip Van Winkle
in crystalline canyons
i will take
a trip
in dreamland's mystic mosaic
all surrounded by feathery fluff
i could doze forever in that stuff
replace my machinations
and schemes
with a cornucopia
of fruity dreams
of an angel's warm and loving charms
as I slumber
soundly in her arms
blarrrrrng!
an angry alarm clock
blast
wakes me
tells me
heaven
doesn't last

Premium MemberHappy Women's Day!

Women’s Day

Women, the other side of life
Of Life. The Life can’t live
Without this side. Loved lives

In my life missing this side
But in my mind exists this life
I love ladies, all of them on the side

My side too, happy to know it
I am not alone, I feel all of them
I love You, I love you, Women,

Without you not exists the life
Please, open the gate to your
To your life, give me your side
Change and make for light
My heart

The Women’s Day
The best day of the year
We can say thank you
We can ask the ladies
For forgiveness
Our sins are so heavy
We have been hurting
Women for thousands of years
We are saying and waiting
the forgiveness
Happy Women's Day!

Premium MemberMixed-Up Vegetables

I open a bag of
mixed-up vegetables
their chatter is deafening
I ask them, “What’s the ruckus?
“It’s the day of reckoning!”

I open a box of
Hamburger Helper
hoping to quench veggies’ yelping
As H.H. interacts with
mixed up vegetables
he laments, “I can do no helping!”

It’s hard to decide what to make for dinner
when surrounded by conflict and strife
After thinking it through the only sure winner
Is to leave dinner plans to my wife

“What’s for dinner, dear?”

Life and Death

Staring down your enemy, conquering your fear,
Shadowed by death, by cruelty and despair.
The sight before you; is the same as before,
Walking alone, down the same dark corridor.

The beauty of the world is reticent to your eyes,
Your worst nightmares are reality; you NOW realize.
Dazed and confused, you make for the tunnels end,
Only to find you’re at the beginning AGAIN.

Again and again, you charge towards the light,
It floats far ahead in the tunnel, just within your sight.
Screaming out in frustration, you drop to your knees,
A deaf world catches your voice and ignores your pleas.

Waking from THE dream? Your reality anew,
Nothing goes as planned, no matter what you do.
Dazed and confused, noticing your life has passed you by,
Left with nothing but the desire to fall down AND cry.

The tears won’t come; your eyes ARE dry and cold,
Inside your heart; YOUR spirit scrambles for a hold.
With a sigh of surrender, you smile one last time,
You shed one tear only, as you close out this rhyme…

Our Time

Our Time

On a bed of rose petals I will tease and caress like the hands on a clock, on your belly lay you down arms out stretched a smile on our lips.

Your head is twelve I kiss my way down, till your neck is reached then down your spine instead of three my fingers entwine at the hour nine o’clock.

More kisses I plant as my way goes down, till I reach the spot at six o’clock, up and down with nibbles that will make you giggle, till at last up I go till the spot three o’clock is found.

Roll you over till our eyes do meet, in yours you see me lick my lips.
Kiss my way back from your fingertips, three o’clock is now the starting time, then I reach a rising chest on which tenderly it’s lovingly kissed.

Down, down slowly I go, till again hello six o’clock comes back around, the taste of fine wine with rose’s sweet smell I go up and up to stroke the hour which is nine o’clock.

Your eyes closed as each lid softly and gently are lovingly kissed, space you make for my head to rest, as we wait in peaceful slumber, to start a brand new day.

Social reformist Florence Nightingale -
her many good deeds make for a fascinating tale.
Not only a nurse was she content to be.
An innovative statistician was she.
