Lydia Poems - Poems about Lydia

O Lydia

When Lydia and I
resolved to climb that apple tree together
it was over -

not all at once, I still had a child’s love
for shiny distractions,
but when her long bare legs
arched over my eyes to gain the highest branch
it was over,

it was over next Spring, next-door girl,
next school term, next crush,
next hopeless infatuation.

O Lydia.

I hope you can

Can Marrying Lydia Be Good Idea

Can marrying Lydia
Be a good idea
Or one to shrug off
And from her keep off?

Lydia would men ride
In her Giant Pride;
Not blinking her eyes
Drop them chosen lies:
“From parched lands heard ‘squelch’;
Beer drinkers don’t belch!”

Is shunning Lydia
A Male Coward’s fear?
Her eyes on India
Like it should be “Now!”
She a sacred cow;
You to not ask “Why?”
For she shall still

Lydia

When Lydia and I
resolved to climb that apple tree -
it was over.
Childhood slipped away,
not all at once,
it took a few moments,
but when her long bare legs
arched over my eyes,
when her skirt
swung over my head
to gain the highest branch,
it was over,
I knew it
and
she knew it.<>

Lady Lydia

With a false embrace and smile
I brought you close to my heart
With false fetters I deceitfully bind
Your sweet emotions and mine

Oh! Lovely lady Lydia
Oblivious of the devil you ride
This serpent has no apples to give
This love is only an illusional Eden

I’m only after the breast of the milk
And after the honey between thighs
I seek

Lydia, Don'T Desert Me For Life

Lydia, don't desert me for life; I've waited years
for an answer and certainly won't give up now,
you can be kinder than you've ever been:
I've struggled through the hardest of times:
feel sorry for me, don't let rejection grow,
no man should be on his knees as I've been!

Nobody looks at you more than I do,
nobody admires you

My Lydia, My Lydia

My Lydia, my Lydia,
You undoubtedly have contracted chlamydia.
During one of your sex-capades,
In a beloved city, somewhere in Syria, or India,
Or presumably from the talented guy,
You willingly met at the cafeteria in Nigeria.
maybe it was the Presbyterian at the meridian?
Oh My Lydia, my Lydia, you say its just trivia
Remember Olivia

Premium MemberJust Give Lydia a Stack of Books

Lydia had a fantastical mind that loved summer breezes
She loved filling it up with pirates, dragons and daring deeds
Just give me a stack of books and a meadow, she would say.
Gone all day, entertaining herself, enjoying her adventures.
She loved the sound of the grass gently moved by the wind.
She adored the birds who cheered

She is very slender and her eyes are brown.
Her hair is lovely, long and dark.
Sometimes she wears colors in her hair or paints her nails.
When I visit at her house, she often scurries away
to be with her own little visiting girlfriends.
Not too interested in Grandma any more,
she is eleven going on twelve.

Sometimes she comes with

Puppy Love For Lydia

Tears well from my eyes as I remember you today
Happy tears, I feel so deeply on the surface of my cheeks
Since the gravitational force of the universe
is what brings the water to the earth

I miss you already but hardly know you

I know all of your friends though

Tears fall from my eyes softly
Like the

Lydia

I first thought it just an old purse,
hand-tooled- child sized-
with braided leather strap and aged patina-
purchased in an antique shop
to hang on a wall or place on a shelf.

But something unexpected came with the purse,
it seems to have an id-
that draws and imparts deep melancholy-
that speaks to me over the years-
of

Lydia At Philippi

He’s new to this district
And found us in prayer
All down by the river
Our burdens to share.
We women were needy
We women were dry
We women were hopeful
That God would come by.
And fresh from the harbour
There came this strange man
Who, serving one Jesus,
Extolled a new Plan
Where wrongs were forgiven
Where mercy held sway
Where lives were transported
From night into Day.
We clung to his
