Sundrops

Like rain drops but not ??
06/08/2023

A collaborative poem by:

°Chelsea Marie StufLeben
& my 9 year old daughter,
• Claire Christine Maki

•A dark stormy day,
With the city at Bay.

°Way off in the distance,
was a luminant ray.

•While the city was dark,
the people would say

•It was not a good day,
for the clouds to be grey.

°Why oh why,
won't the clouds go away?

°•Will we ever see Sun,
or its bright gleeful day?

•Oh look! Said a man,
On the streets of his town.

•°As he saw the clouds fade,
And the sun was now found.

°But even more brilliant,
The raindrops now glistened.

°•They'd turned to sundrops,
the town pridefully listened.

•To the birds as they chirped,
Far off in the distance.

•°They soaked in the sun,
In it's vitalized essence.

•So now that they bathed,
In the light of the Sun.

•their hearts were all full,
Joy had filled everyone.

As Snowflakes Fell

Moonlight glowed in a gown of gold array
Luminant stars sparkled above Calais*
I would drive my love in a horse-drawn sleigh
and keep her warm with blanket of crochet.
As snowflakes fell, I'd offer a bouquet
and speak words of love in polished cliche.
We'd dine by firelight with wine and filet.
Nibble sweet morsels on dessert's buffet,
then propose as tears filled her eyes of grey.

Premium MemberNight To Morning

Night…to Morning
————————————-
Very often,
my night hours
Keep awake,
Keep their occurrence
Until morning’s rise,
Keep their words
Under darkness…and
Their poems wait,
Disregarding
Inspiration from
The luminant moon
In favor of the sun’s
    birthing day.
I keep my sleep’s
    dreams abloom
In the acres of
    gently waving,
 Vibrant yellow,
Billions of sunflower
Petals
Opened to extend
    their beauty into the
Summer’s minuets —
Moving silhouettes —
Along the horizon…
So, so clear, even
To these sleepy eyes,
Through these
    glistening tears.

At times when the night glows so dark
And dawning too rises clouding the arc
Be the street lamp ceaselessly bright
Be the candle with halo of angelic light

When travails of life flood teary eyes
And forlorn hearts pulse in sullen cries
Be the echo of solace from hills divine
Be the hymn of grace tolling in shrine

Where guns of war embroil, stilling time
And lives struggle on impassable climb
Be not the one among callously supine
Be not voice of unsung to meekly resign

Hear homeless-bawl on troubled streets
Feel the discordant wail of hunger beats
Be the day that glistens hope of sunshine
Burn brightly the flame of love genuine

Be a mighty pillar to plight of the weak
Be a luminant purveyor on blight bleak
Be the omnipresent twinkle of stellar sign
Be the eternal glory of ubiquitous shine

Eventide’s splendorous motifs on blazing arc rise
Tinting golden horizon of glinting vermillion skies
Where setting sun inflames decaying gilded rays
As twilight glistens graying eve’s yellowing haze

And pewter winds rustle leaves, lilting meadows
Swaying hills of trees in rhythms of tilting shadows
Where bidding the day goodbye birds hastily fly
While enchanted in luminant sky people amble by

Reveling ebullience of nightfall glowing in moonlight
Dazzled by twinkles of stars lifting tenor of night
As nightingale’s love song enthralls nocturnal appeal
When orchestra plays above scintillating astral zeal

Quietude soon endows dreams of exuberant dawn
As the reign of moon and stars sparkles on and on
Till misty morn awakens to melodies of robin’s call
And sun rises again to walk the new day to nightfall

An Angel's Craving

An oblivious sight I can't deny
The thrills and demons solidified
Reckoning banquets of dust and doom
Whispering, beggings of spirit's gloom

Boundless era of dusks and fume
Revenge outstands the new millennium!
Stir the luminant shrills and sighs
Let Hades hear the deaths and cries!

Money, Power – have it and win
Join the quest of Pleasure and Sin
Lovely flowers? Have it undressed
Drank its nectar of pure finesse

Give no space to love and compassion
Yet strive for hatred and destruction
Let men endure and beg for Death
Ruin their souls and end their breath

'Tis oblivious sight I can't deny
The demons in me solidified
I reckoned banquets of dust and doom
For I bring forth my spirit's gloom
