Battle of the Sexes
A Collaboration Between: Pandita Sanchez and Eric L. Boddie
As beautiful and smart as you are,
you always seem to take it too far.
I know some of it is just;
but there is still so much that never needed to be discussed.
It could be that you too often misunderstand me,
overcomplicating and seeing life differently.
They say men are from Mars and women from Venus,
so things will never be simplified between us.
Tell me, what am I to think -
I mean, your mood changes within a blink;
so much emotion can sometimes get in the way,
you like pushing buttons - what's that shade of gray?
One minute you say that I’m too emotional;
then when I prove to be your equal, you call me irrational.
Is it just that I’m way too much woman for you?
And, perhaps, you really don’t have a clue?
There you go again thinking you are all that;
that's the reason we are always off track.
I love everything about you, but I tire of the stress;
and I can't calm you down unless I get you undressed.
See that's exactly what I'm talking about -
resorting to caveman tactics makes you believe you have clout;
but you're no longer a boy, so you should know better, Boo,
you're wearing me out with your commitment issue.
You see, I just can't ever win.
So don't stand there trying to pretend
like you are faultless in all of this;
but the blame always hits me - it has never missed.
While I admit that I’m not totally blameless,
I’ve been the one who‘s always willing to do more while you do less.
In fact, like Rodin’s ‘Thinker’ you just brood over our problems;
but I’m the mover and shaker who actually tries to solve them.
You know what? I am done with all this…
I mean, you know I am addicted to your sweet kiss
which, consequently, makes arguments hard to resist,
all because there is not a feature about you I want to miss.
So please just let me say -
the indifferences need to end, and let's start anew today.
Well we don’t need to be arguing all the time sinking into quicksand,
if like two adults, we address concerns before they get out of hand.
But in spite of what our differences may be,
I know we love each other to the nth degree;
and in the end, we know we’re worth it, and we’ll see,
man and woman, we can work it out together, Baby, you and me.
Can a man tolerate an incarcerate?
Madly in love with a madwoman
Throughout the investigation; Prior to the incarceration she's reflective
Two years on the verge of being wasted like Iron Maiden single "Wasted Years"
Additional two daughters she conceived not to mention she needs help supporting her two daughters "Homeless Agencies"
Two daughters means double the "Needs and Wants"
Two daughters means twice repeating the lady "Do's and Don'ts"
Repeatedly, she crosses her legs like a foreleg mantis as if in prayer
She prays for financial support, not willing to be a Hoe at Davenport (Davenport Hotel)
Scrolled through her cellular contacts and called close relatives her normal emergency contacts
Asked Steve, Keith, and her lovers longtime friend Daisuke he's a Japanese
All three smacked their teeth
Ironically Daisuke smacked his teeth on account of in Japanese the meaning of Daisuke is "BIG HELP"
As a mighty breeze passes a cry in the wind passed a message," Perpetually I'll Bless You like a allergic symptom sneeze
Stressing continuously over occurrences its mind-boggling she doesn't believe
Biting a forbidden fruit the fruit of lies first like Eve
Eventually she deceives her incarcerated lover and becomes aware of nakedness after she sinned
An act of independence, survival, an act of the Holy Bible
A social science woman is she her sexual desire an experiment, Puzzling for a woman to make known to a incarcerated man she broke her commitment
In no way shape or form a mistake, only a meant, you went along with it didn't it
After she risked everything and made known the fearful news both were thinking walk a mile in my shoes
But that gut-feeling she must of had waiting on his comment
FACT: He was wondering what Bruh "Cum Meant"
Did you do this out of shortage of cents or perfects?
Impossible to shop for love I guess taking care of our two daughters was where the money was spent
Baby my point of view is I'm pointing butterfingers at (U)
Tell the world I'm coming home as you already knew, and maybe we can work it out something brand-new, because Carrie KaeKae James after I read this poem I changed my mans point of view

One thing in common
There are different factions
In every nation
Fighting wars to get a reaction
Only bringing us pain and dissatisfaction
No one cares about the children
Who they claim to be fighting for
And nobody wants to talk about it
So peace can thru the door
And the only thing they have in common
Some of them like the same songs
So I got an idea to try to stop the fighting
If I can get them all to do sing along
In the name of the john~ let’s give peace a chance
In the name of George ~ we can work it out
In the name Paul ~ let's live together in harmony
In the name of ring ~ put down the guns lets twist and shout
So many different religions
But there’s only one god
And each wants the other
To die by the sword
And all claim to be working for the lord
But how can you go to heaven
God can pick out the false prophets
And all the blasphemes hadean
How many children must die?
For they to begin to care
How many mothers must cry?
In pain and despair
But if they really love the children
Then I come up with a plan
To break down in sections
So they all can understand
In the name of Jesus ~ let the children go
In the name of Muhammad ~ set the children free
In the name of Rama ~ let the children grow
In the name of Krishna ~ let the children be
Let’s see what happens
Only the future can tell
Bet many who say they work for god
Surely will end up in hell
It’s funny how man can go to the moon
In ships of metal fuel, and glass
And right here on earth
They can make peace last
I dreamt of you again last night.
You looked into my eyes as you held me tight.
You said "You silly girl, did you really believe,
That I wouldn't come back? How naive.
Don't you remember the promise we've made?
And if you do, how could you be so afraid?"
I held you and I didn't want to let go,
How could I after all that we've been through?
I can finally hold you and again be with you!
Baby, I know we've been here before and said,
This time is forever, and were that one lead,
And we might have a very long road ahead.
So call me a sheep or whatever you'd like,
I promise I will not let misfortune strike.
I know I was a fool, a damn idiot, if you will
But I would rather die than again run for the hill.
I can't believe you are really here, in my arms
I thought happiness like this just wasn't in the cards.
You laughed, than slowly kissed me,
The way only you can, and said "We'll see"
Oh how much I've missed you my love,
How I've longed for you and to hit it off
Just like always, I never really had a doubt,
That whatever we face, we can work it out.
Once again, we were as happy as we could be,
We made love, and there was none, just you and me.
We talked about everything, where we've been,
And how we'll never allow us to be apart again.
It truly was like something out of a fairytale,
Then I opened my eyes to the light and I realized,
I dreamt of you again last night.
Small pieces of driftwood
on the beach this morning
still wet to touch
with shapes and smells of salty wonder
Cautiously I move
Carefully I sift
I find a lucky piece on the high tide line
lovingly place it in my pocket
take it home
put it in a special place and watched it for a while
It doesn’t change
It stays lucky
It has a ledge along one side like tongue-and-groove board
a bevel on the opposing side
and a hole in the centre near the top like a keyhole
suggesting that it may have been part of a door
A lucky door perhaps
or a door to a magic kingdom
I feel a bit like a happy dog who has found a new stick
or a five year old
who has just realised that small pieces of wood
can serve some kind of important mystic purpose
If only we can work it out
We need to work this out
Lucky things can often exhibit magical tendencies
They fill our imaginations with unique thoughts
Adults can only think this way
when they think the way dogs and children do
We need to get it right
Let’s try to get this right
And for those of you who don’t believe in magic
and feel that magic plays no part in their lives
I will perform this small act of verbal prestidigitation
I will transform this piece of lucky driftwood into a poem
By the power of ancient spirits
I cast this driftwood spell for you
When you point a finger
There's three that's pointing back.
I was taught as a nipper, and I have learnt just that
To stand and judge another, you must be squeaky clean
And even then, who put you on a pedastool to be my king or Queen.
As to err is human, but to forgive sublime
And I have to live with my actions, its not your life its mine.
Until you've walked another's shoes,
how can you say which path you'd choose.
I try to treat others the best that I can,
can't be doing with judges ,they're against natures plan.
As with the laws of chaos, there's a very fine line,
Between love and hate, good and bad, sunlight and moonshine.
I have to take, whatever I have coming,
to forgive myself first, its about mindful knowing.
I do know people judge, when they feel guilt themselves,
cause its easier to point at others, then breaking down their own shells.
So if you've got a problem, come out and say it straight.
To hold inside and fester, will only create hate.
Then when its laid before us, we can work it out,
sometimes we gotta cry, laugh ,talk and shout.
Then we can leave the judges,to stand in their great courts,
to wear their robes and silly wigs, and treat their lowers worse than pigs.
And I'll answer to the goddess, and her crazy plan,
and I'll carry on being, exactly who I am.
"Come together right now over me,"the Beatles.
"Come together right now over me."
"Let there be peace on earth and let
it begin with me."
These are the troubled times that try men's and women's souls.
Injustices and discrimination's exist in The United States,
And around the world! Economic and/or social discrimination,
Imprisonment and harassment are being filled with an
Explosive flame all over our land. Leaving the survivors
To pick up the pieces and rebuild again!
We need to put down our weapons, our guns and our
Senseless acts of violence. Their is a violent civil
War raging throughout our nation. When acts of
Injustices happen. Pitting American against our
Brothers and Sisters. We need freedom of
Opinions and ideas. "A house divided
Against itself can not stand."
"We can work it out. Life is very short and there's
No time for fusing and fighting my friends."The Beatles.
"We need to declare times of fasting and prayer,
repentance, forgiveness and healing. Resulting
and accomplishing reconciliation. Human life is
valuable And a terrible thing to waste! "Thou shalt
Not kill!" "Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thy self."

What a TV Show
American Idol
There’s so many loonies seeking fortune
and fame
But I’m suicidal
Paula Abdul’s gone and Ellen’s just not the same
What a tv show!
What a tv show!
Some of them have talent
Many more are fruitcakes who love to screech
and howl
Oh so brave and gallant
‘Til they’re subjected to the snide remarks of
Simon Cowell
What a tv show!
What a tv show!
For every Clay Aiken, 10,000 Sanjayas
Are making an awful sound
You’re much mistaken if your burning desire’s
To hear Larry sing “Pants on the Ground”
Can I find a reason
To withstand my co-workers gentle rebukes
Yet every season
I tune in for more zany crazy tone deaf kooks
What a tv show!
What a tv show!
For every Fantasia, 10,000 William Hungs
Eagerly wait in the wings
They’ll amaze ya, these delusional throngs
Tell me why do we enjoy such things?
American Idol
There’s a bunch of loonies seeking fortune
and fame
Think I need a Midol
Good or bad, next year we won’t remember their names
What a tv show!
What a tv show!
For John Heck's "Beatlemania" Contest - The Beatles "We Can Work it Out"
Some of the little things
That tried to brake us apart
Should of made us strong in our hearts
Because you are the love of my life
I love being your wife
I treasure all our moments together
It is the funny things
That you do, makes me smile
And life is good with you
That our love can last awhile
(Chorus)
Between you and me
We can make our love right
Between you and me
And we can love each other
Between you and me
We can last forever
When we started out
Others and they had there doubts
They said we wouldn't make it
Between you and me
We can work out the mistakes
Together we can work it out
Together we can make it
Threw all the hard times, rough roads
We've climbed over mountians
Carried some heavey loads
Together we are rasing a family
And my sisters to
And if we have arguments
Between you and me
Realize we all make mistakes
But it takes us to make it right
( Repeat chours)
Some of the little things
That tried to brake us apart
Should of made us strong in our hearts
Because you are the love of my life
I love being your wife
I treasure all our moments together
It is the funny things
That you do makes me smile
And life is good with you
That our love can last awhile
Between you and me
This day shouldn't be so bleak
Find some strength- don't be so weak
We can work it out if you
Let me in I'll see you through
Whatever the days will bring
Our love can get by anything
I promise we will not fail
We won't sink, our love will sail
Through the stormiest of seas
Holding on tight is the key
Don't let go or we will drown
Together we are safely bound
Tied together we won't break
There is way too much at stake
To break down falling apart
I promised you right from the start
We'd always be tightly tethered
Bound through every kind of weather
Please hold on and don't let go
We'll be each others safety float
Treading the waters of love
Keeping both our hearts above
The deep water we can save
Each other --lets just be brave
Can we let our love seep
Into our hearts where we can keep
Every single heartbeat safe
Locked up tight with no escape
I don't want to lose what's standing
Right in front of me, I'm handing
Over my whole life to you
Where I hope it's turned into
Something more than what it is
Every hug and every kiss
Will not be wasted-- shoved aside
My words are truthful-- not a lie
