A better gentleman there never was
Kind loving and generous man
Bon vivant and lavish tipper
Articulate, meticulous and dressed to the nines
Phoned his mother every Sunday religiously
Never a bad thing to say about anyone

It was a Friday after work
Celebrating the end of the week
More exuberant than usual
Spring was in the air
The days were getting longer
And the breeze warmer

He loved life till the very last minute
When it wasn’t baseball
It was Texas Hold’em
Then that fateful Friday afternoon he said
‘Tell my family I love them’
Just like that

We buried him on St.Patrick’s Day
It was a beautiful sunny afternoon
I’ll never forget that one final glance
That one lone sentinel by his grave
Standing guard
Up on that hill against the setting sun
A fitting tribute honouring
A man who had lived and loved
Every blessed day of his life

And now, a word from our sponsor:

Has your sirloin lost its flavor? Do you gag on fish filet?
Have you grown a morbid hunger for a terminal buffet?
Ok! There’s a menu made to die for down at Suicide Café.

You can start with soup and salad topped with Ricin-tainted Cheese.
And our Bathtub Gin with Razor lets you end it all with ease.
Ice teas? Quench your thirst for something different with our Botulism Breeze.

If you’re into dining solo, try our Arsenic Puree.
For the avant garde and daring, there’s our Cyanide Soufflé.
Ole! For dessert, try going retro with our Hemlock Mint Sorbet.

Belladonna Toadstool Nibblers leave you gasping with delight.
Our Curare Basted Spare Ribs take your breath with every bite.
Time tight? Have our Bang-bang Chicken garnished with a sprig of dynamite.

Do you style yourself a connoisseur and bon vivant gourmet
Seeking gastronomic climax to a soul-destroying day?
Oy vey! Come taste the fix you’re craving down at Suicide Café.

WE BELONG TO HIM-nOUS LUI APPARTENONS--French Verse

Nous avons
Tellement de
 Haine
 Méfiance
Comment pouvons-nous
 va et viens
 vivant
Nous devons prier ensemble
 Pour nous permettre d'aller mieux

Nous devons louer ensemble
Être une communauté que Dieu voit s'améliorer

L'adorer
Nous lui appartenons
Nous appartenons à HIm

Maintenant, maintenant
Nous devons louer ensemble
Être une communauté que Dieu voit s'améliorer

L'adorer
Nous lui appartenons
Nous appartenons à HIm

Maintenant, maintenant

tellement de
La tourmente
Pas plus
Amour durable
Rien que le péché
La gauche
Souille notre âme

Arrêtez-vous, commencez à croire
Croire, soyons dedans
Sur accord
Arrêtez-vous et adorez le Savoir

maintenant, maintenant
L'adorer
Nous lui appartenons
Nous appartenons à HIm
Nous lui appartenons
Nous lui appartenons
Nous lui appartenons, à droite
Maintenant

Dark haired Anne of Green Gables
Freckles and playfully naughty giggle
Hailed from Prince Edward Island

Easygoing bon vivant friendly nature
Everyone couldn’t help but love you
Your nonchalant laissez-faire demeanour
Often made you look as cute as Pippi Longstocking

You were a friendship magnet
People couldn’t get enough of you
Everyone wanted a piece of your energy
Your exuberant joyful freedom
Hoping a bit of your magic would wear off on them

You never doubted about the true treasures of life
When you talked about the fields of daisies down home
Your eyes teared up with nostalgia

When you did move back for good
It was a cruel jolt to us
We were sad and lost a chip off our heart
But we always did see you
For what you truly were
A captive bird trapped in a cage
It was time to set you free

"The Sunbeams below Sea" (the Moon under Water of restaurants for bon vivants)

Years have past but still can’t quell… won’t snub Orwell’s “the Moon under Water” pub as did cast a vast spell which did last….but pray tell what the hell should we call the restaurant of our dreams….which memes bestows seems to have all the right themes…glows how about “the Sunbeams below Sea”

Fables about higgledy piggledy chairs & tables

Cradles candles & scandals under their gables

Culinary cables run free no bland brand labels

Feast on every bit of the beast gourmet stables

Restaurant procured and manicured by a savant

Chef the ref hits the right clef is the commandant

An epicure tincture the cure for any bon vivant

An apothecary of wonders dispensed you adore

A third space with grace for either rich or poor

Service smooth as lace sings like a troubadour

Sweet as the smell after a downpour of petrichor

To attract and have a pact with every locavore

Delightful detour will always get highest score

Every encore makes sure come back for more

Beacon of light for us with appetite of a labrador

Another secret lover met palate whet paramour

The restaurateur not only a brassy raconteur

Flavour to savour taste bud flood provocateur

With bravura not bravado true entrepreneur

Not only an aficionado a classy connoisseur

Food looking pretty thanks to chef de partie

Maitre d’ quick with a ditty and slick repartee

Never sh*tty always a pity if they’re not witty

Cheer for every peer & the atmosphere is free

Sanctuary of treats from nearby streets so gritty

Harmonious not parsimonious not overly twee

Sybaritic symphony its rhapsody down to a tee

Glee of a miner finding gold & going on a spree

Umami tsunami a melody for my old china & me

Marvel at the majesty of a well woven tapestry

Pedigree and fancy free filigree the place to be

Treacle toned well honed academy of alchemy

Push the glutton button for a gourmands epiphany

Charms calms any qualms are like balms of apricity

Nowt finer for any city diner than elan & bonhomie

That it seems would be a restaurant of our dreams

Teems with reams of gleams “Sunbeams below sea”

Candid and fully exposed as the theatre’s light dims
She stands poised, dauntless disciplined and statuesque
A stance both stalwart and defiant yet supple are her limbs
Mango hued flower, shoulder's thrown back thrusting her breast

He sits rapped by intrigue as he studies her movement
A silver fox and raven mane is neatly brushed regally back
To beautify him further would take divine improvement
Only to be bathed in her impassioned embrace does he lack

Swirls of sangria red fabric charge like El toro spark undulating trails
Laced in pearly white with azure blue print mesmerize and highlight
And flow about her generous hips in a rage of billowing canvas sails
Flamenco dancers firm legs are revealed in fish nets that boldly invite

Whilst her furtive glimpse ignites his cavalier bon vivant smile
She bewiles with onyx eyes that glisten and fingers splayed for effect
He connects in a flash with a performers come hither guile
Upon times eternal river this fiery night's tryst they shall reflect

BON VIVANT FANTASTIC TOUR

       In those streets of buildings
       by Frank Lloyd and Corbusier
I dreamed of my dry landscape...
      In those temples of sumptuous
mystery, I dreamed of the little chapel
            of São João...
On the fast High Ways, I dreamed
     the trails of xique xique...
    In the monumental parks,
  of those megalopolises, I dreamed
of the backyard of the caatingas...
     In those exploded Meccas,
     I dreamed of my shotgun
          of soca-soca...
       In the nightclubs of
     high society, I dreamed
of Zé Lagoa's relaxation bal masquê...
I confess that I lived in those worlds,
         but I never left home...!

the light breeze

sensory feelings inside emote

ambling along piazzas wide

                a city's pride
byzantine palaces bridge of sighs
facias painted

gothic churches candles ablaze
carvings to draw the gaze
depicted ceilings vivant tableau
  golden bedecked reredos

houses emulsioned terracotta bold

A Bon Vivant Lifestyle

A bon vivant lyfestyle
of the Bohemians de Paris,
has always saddened and deluded me...
by seeing it in someone's happy smile.

Mademoiselles and jeunne hommes,
exchanging artistic and poetical ideas
at the Cafe' de Flore, or at the Les Deux Magots...
with coffee aroma on their breaths.

Living in legendary and vibrant Hollywood
is an honor to be seen with the admired and respected wealthy;
and whoever struggles, can't keep up with any of them...
whose only desire is the glitter of money.

And steadily dreaming of a bon vivant lifestyle with an aloft
imagination, I let this want often disrupt my peaceful sleep...
not being able to accumulate, quickly enough,
fortunes and stand on that pedestal of greed.

So snap out of fantasy and don't peruse into La Dolce Vita
of Hollywood! Stay away from those extravagant fashion shows!
And at the Cannes, Capri or Venice Film Festival, avoid contact with movie stars,
stare at them from far...they are as contagious as influenza.

Overflow Infliction

     Unswallowed lumps of lobster immodest
     Crustacean returns to pincers persimmon
     Waitress whisk indiscernible clears linen
Custom of one equates her eight hour day

Has It All Paul wipes away gourmet residual
     Exhaustion frightened by frothy latte
Fingers in pies finance necromancer denies
Bulging funds fail to complete, coins conflict

Periphery rebuffs, enough is finite, endless leers
Goblet of gluttony grape broth overflow inflicts
Victim of vanished virtue, bon vivant declaration
     Transmutes rules, outruns consequence

Guidance glued in buttery dough glides rhetorical
Yacht reined in quay quiver, another arrow for Cupid
Entertainment timed to change with shifting tides
Inglots tossed overboard drown in debauch

Drunk playboy Paul while vulnerable divulges
Disdain for greeds' steep scrag, perpetual pursuit
Outdo, prove prowess for those who never realise
Incongruent grapple for further forgets to cherish

Partners relent, resources force caucus to submit
     Patronising Paul procures boardroom obedience
Inundating debt retards bombastic boon reward
Promise of association silences indulgent sin
