Woman in Chains

Inner child blinks back tears through the cheval glass
At a bruised reflection staring back,
Battered by the hand of perfection,
Wearing chains in glimmering pearls deception,
Beauty and the beast - beauty now turned beast -
Though in the grip of vogue,
Restrained designs fettering creativity,
Beneath the veneer of outlandish style,
Wears hand-me-downs;
Wounded dove, kissed with a rose from the mist
Gasping on the runway of perfection
Beneath the blazing sun of cutting tongues
Behind made up faces,
Disappears into a chalice -fiery crucible -
Of coveted, borrowed, chains –
A dark kaleidoscope of shifting shapes and sizes -
Of stolen sublime – esteem devoured – ravished -
In runway parades of opaque flawless delusion
Skin hanging from a bony dress frame
Of starving wings scarred by black veils of distortion
With the salt of conformity heaped onto tender wounds
Searing tender flesh reaching out
In manacles for models of the meticulous
Bound up in chains of unforgiven imperfection
Forged in expectation’s subtle abusing links
With parables of precise precision
Handmaid designed by faultless perfection unseen the in the reflection
Till, clothed in a sheath of a new creation,
Slips out of leg shackles, greased by grace,
The inner child in somersaults soars on wings re-stored.

About 30 million people suffer from Anorexia Nervosa – both women and men. It can be a fatal disease effecting heart, kidney and liver functions. It is most prevalent in teenagers and young women. Anorexia took the life of singer Karen Carpenter, ballerina Heidi Guenther and model Isabella Caro. Princess Diana suffered from Anorexia. The recovery rate is very low – about 20%. This is definitely the story of Beauty and the Beast.

"Hail Mary full of grace"
These words you demand of me
I sit in this dark box
Confessing
Crying
Talking to a shadow
Eyes that never meet
Untouched by your hand

You say my secrets are safe
I wish to be set free
Yet there is no relief
This is a cold place
A box
The walls close in
I feel no relief from sin
You ask me to begin

Forgive me father
For I have sinned
I have had impure thoughts
I have done things in the dark
The beast has left it's mark

You sit there
Do you understand
You speak softly and demand
Tell me more
Tell me more
Your secrets are safe

Why do you sit there
In the dark
Separated from me
Is it somehow easier to see
I'm sorry
It makes no sense
The wall becomes a fence

In the end we are both just men
We will sin again
Hail Mary's won't be enough
Only God can forgive our stuff
I will talk direct to Him
Through Jesus I can begin
His blood spilled for me
Now I know I am free
Redeemed
Forgiven
Jesus
Sweet Jesus
It is only him
To whom I confess
The one who paid the price
He cleared my debt

It isn't mother Mary
Or a man in a robe
Who set me free

So I walk away

Unforgiven

By man

State of Grace

An Army nurse hoses blood off the floor.
while the doughnut dollies smile and flirt
        with the wounded boys
	down the hall.
Back home they scream baby killers, Spit in our
        faces with sadistic joy.
White sheets cover the dead soldiers, just boys, being wheeled
out one after another, out the door, too late.
Body bags await, and body parts stacked up by the door.
She held his cold hand, as he lay dying, in fear… calling
	calling for his momma,
Nurses in tears can’t take any more, but they wheel in
another dying boy through the door.
Screams of pain, dulled by heavy monsoon rain
pounding on too thin canvas walls.
Unforgiven... in a State of Grace one boy after another dies
time and time again, she must hose their blood off the floor.
Padre telegram in trembling hand, knocks on the… it’s
	The door is open?
Memories of rows flag draped lead lined coffins
as he steps through the door.
And sees the boy’s young wife, naked, with a stranger.
on the… looks away, can’t watch this anymore...
	who the are you?
	Your husbands been wounded,
but he is doing well, he lies...... Well…. Wel..l
Well, he has lost both of his arms and legs,
	she said, So, he’s not dead? , , ,
no NO GOD DAMNED insurance payout,
	no no no?
He turns and leaves the boys wife
still naked wife in a State of Grace, with a
        stranger on the…..
Padre in tears walks out the door ….
        Shaking hands, he, recounts
the telegrams, undelivered, yet again, quickly,
        there’s still six more.
Fate, like Charlottes topaz eyed… tiger still lurking in shadows
As an Army nurse in a State of Grace,
hoses the blood off the floor, and stacks
the body bags by the door...

11,000 nurses served in Vietnam, were volunteers. Many still suffer from PTSD.. GrocPedia (Elon Musks) wikipedia did an interesting review of this poem. I should say that im not a
pacifycist, i was a soldier, and i would rather die a patriot than a coward...

Premium Member Hunchbacked Dreams

Into the wild scatter your docile dreams,
Like animals from rusted cages freed,
For seamless years hunchbacked by low-slung beams,
Now through ceilings of boughs can boldly feed
On oracles hung in the new-glimpsed sky,
Telling of the courage of late-fledged wings,
Paroled from pauses and a fearful sigh,
Bound for air so sapphire, the heart’s eye blinks.
Unbend those yearnings, lest they die craven,
For too long have they been told, it’s too late;
Let them be by this world unforgiven,
Or with waiting destiny at last mate.
Retake the time when life’s freshness thundered,
Before youth was by dreamless toil plundered.

Allow the Mind

Allow the mind
Afford its need to conjure
Profound:
If exaltation and majesty
Require a bit of provocation and amnesty today
Humor:
As remedy and coagulation
From the bleeding of
Pain, stress and anger
Affection:
To reach out from solitary
Disconnectedness and remind
Ourselves that human beings exist
For purposes greater than commerce,
Ridicule and acceptance (approval?)
Bizarre:
Lifting the veneer of earth-toned normality
To discover colors and shapes
Radiant with black dissonance
Thorny embrace
Begging for elbow room among the
Forbidden and unforgiven
Slow dancing to rapacious cadences
That salute unspoken, unthinkable
Luscious folly
Melancholy:
For no reason
Sans the blame of others
Spite of self
Grasping sadness leased
By absentee owners
Themselves insipid to the
Context of sorrow they predispose
And so empathy
Created by that
Ancient historian with his grandiose
Visions of humanity's
Zero sum pain
Reflection:
In, out
Distinctive and plagiarized
To give depth where blank existence
Stands naked, cold
And in need of decency
Reacting to the homogenous assumptions
That fill our tomes of daily dread
Momentary answers to eternal questions
Before the rain and incessant gray tender
Cover the need to be alive
Brilliance:
Where our grasp of knowledge
Tangled inquiry
Defines
Yields bouquets fresh enough
To place in the corner
For whomever looks our way
Kernels of cerebral popcorn
Gushing with flavor
Vengeance:
Arbitrary
Yet sometimes predestined
Stimuli and caricatures resembling
Organic matter
Causality reckoning from their
Intentional, dark motives
Resulting in your personal disgrace
And corresponding focus
Of their demise
Satisfaction:
At the end of journey
Short and sweet
Long and dreary
Each the test of mettle
From quandaries and dilemmas
Begging to be solved
Or merely maintained
Where we find ourselves
At the summit
Top of the heap
With broken smile
Tacit laughter
And the sigh of a lifetime.

the unforgiven

The Unforgiven

In a town where even the law rests
and thieves do not break out of prison
Oh, this bonny night washing my feet
in the pool in the square where
fish die for lack of oxygen
This is the moment when the unseen
the population appears,
banished as they are to the sewers
eternal darkness.
Ah, the plaza bathed in white moonlight
and they dance so tender, fur to fur
noses to noses.
Inhaling the perfumed air of their existence
The sacrifice of living underground
makes sense when,
on a night like this, nature greets them
in their heroic effort
to keep lessening the waste humans
have left behind.

Premium Member An Unforgiven Hot Thirsty Soul

You created your thoughts
your loyalties bumped high price, your thief
on your head shouldn't matter, non repented
 you're dead
Spirit soul has risen, yet it doesn't long in heaven
Yet your decaying body sizzles
In the heat of the night, in Hades Den
you fled the flight passionate schemes
no longer revelant dreams
You lie flat on your back, breath taken away by God here in a coffin
your eyes are closed
you're in a box...What
 your thoughts not found
are lost, you are lost
subliminal horizon your soul on, in eternal fire
 devastated you panging
your physical flesh no longer being
 now you're soul wishes
for a ice cold drink as your soul is dishes

Premium Member In The Shadow of Sunlight

In the pantomime of pretend prose,
the moon dances on lonely nights.
Before the lights go out at twilight,
unforgiven ice cold hearts,
remain abandoned, hoping this is the end.

Her eyes like Eve were deceived,
by manipulative sea green serpents.
Stranded on shores where time has no name,
the artistry of dread, breathed in poetic chills,
inhaling life, exhaling pain like dolent daisies.

Concealing metaphors of dying embers,
behind an avalanche of emotions,
she anticipated the rebirth of an artist,
by an art nearing the opposite side of yearnings,
because in the deepest chasm of poetic love,
an alliteration of antithesis attracts affection.

I was not as naive as Adam,
searching for heartbeats from heaven,
knowing that is how you ruin a poet.
An empathic spirit ignites pens full of fire,
burning the strings of poetic puppets -
the greatest gift of entrancement.

Rumi taught me the universe is infinite,
and so am I, so I knew I would meet my muse,
like stars greet the moon in a meadow of miracles.

As roaming romance conjured my dream's horizon.
Her name always echoed in the silence of quiet nights.
An empress without an emperor in a crumbling palace,
yearning to blossom in an epodic flower field.

Her seldom smile was as radiant as the golden orb.
Despite ghosts hiding in the shadow of sunlight,
mystical silver spirits were summoning me to her abode.
Her misspelt phrases accidentally fell on my page.
I found her burying her frozen quill under six feet of snow,
with a withered heart reliving a winter wonder nightmare,
constantly bleeding pearls in a silage of tears,
cursing her tormented tongue.

Her winter kisses were as tender as butterfly snowflakes,
but at first, her rage slashed at my wrists,
drowning me in her obsidian grieving seas,
but my soul is like a seasoned samurai full of scars.
I always believed small steps lead to great places,
and I would kiss her sorrows goodbye.

Upon realisation there's no blood in my veins, only poetry,
together we portrayed pastel coloured sunsets,
illuminating a celestial canopy of light,
sowing trees of forgiveness,
surrounded by colourful petals,
leaving behind the dark long road home.

In our internal garden of Eden,
there is no darkness,
there is no forbidden fruit nor sinning,
only an aura of love personified.

The Double Secret

"The Double Secret"

I am skin and bone
wrapped tightly around
an immaculate heart that’s hidden
but known to a fierce soul

Human daughter, sprinkled with holy water

Wherever there is Love
Inside you, there is the Light
to guide Love Home
a lost journey through Dante’s Hell now gone

Prison walls dissolve, He walks towards her

and says,

"Wherever there is Love
Inside you,
there is the Light
to guide Love Home"

Freedom is the token, Petronilla calls Home

There the Light shines, it’s
Always on
Heaven’s Gate burns bright
inside your soul

The Unforgiven, sees for once he has the light

I am skin and bone
wrapped tightly around
an immaculate heart that’s hidden
but known to a fierce soul

The Double Secret unfolds

“Extraordinary things are always hiding in places people never think to look.”

“There's always going to be bad stuff out there. But here's the amazing thing -- light trumps darkness, every time. You stick a candle into the dark, but you can't stick the dark into the light.”

“If you spent your life concentrating on what everyone else thought of you, would you forget who you really were? What if the face you showed the world turned out to be a mask... with nothing beneath it?”

“Love is not an equation, it is not a contract, and it is not a happy ending. Love is the slate under the chalk, the ground that buildings rise, and the oxygen in the air. It is the place you come back to, no matter where you're headed”
(Jodi Picoult)
