the closer I get to God
the more the adversary goes hard
doing its best to disrupt my life
as I elevate towards my Lord Christ
I desire to talk the talk
I aspire to walk the walk
to step like my chosen Savior
to strut with a christ-like behavior

the more the enemy tries to invade my heart
with destructive tendencies
to come between God and me

So many reasons given for love
on why 'I love you' but is that true?
why do we need a reason for it?
many love letters written but what's new
Can we not love yes L-O-V-E
just because that's what we feel
hey do we need to feel to know it
give it your tongue withy a squeal
She loves you yea! yea! yea! Beatles said
knowing it can't be bad but is it really good?
you want to love that's so very indescribable
blows your whole being it doesn't need be nude
This needs a special person no less
where, why or when is the question
well life has the answer out there
so go out to feel love your lesson
Love is such a special feel effect
an explanation beyond your mind
when one senses what it's about
you know for sure love can't be blind

Without the Lord, I don't know where for sure now I'd be
He sends me so many blessings that's clear to see
He gives His unconditional love today and forever
He grants me His forgiveness, He'll abandon me never
No matter what I do He always sees me through all
There are those days when it's so hard to stand tall
But with Jesus by my side through everything I can go
Because His love and grace helps me each day and more grow
With Him nothing is really impossible at all, and this with certainty I know
He gives me love, hope and strength,and in my heart His love just flow
He helps me see better when things go wrong and I'm feeling down and blue
I am so happy and thankful that I know God as my Lord and my Savior too.

Last night I awoke to the sign of Orion, and the big dipper pouring beauty into her
countenance.
Though the stars say she is a Capricorn, a meager goat, I see Orion’s majesty every time I
stare into here full lips and wide Sophia Lauren Smile.
Her sleek and slender body bodes of Spartan stubbornness.
A stubbornness that’s had me fuming on the wrong kind of sides, of the wrong kinds of days.
Most days, we spend our lives like firefighters, putting out 101 degree fevers, cars
breaking down, and trying to make ends meet on a student’s stipend,
And as days pass, we see separation as an impossibility for how could we possibly survive
without each other?
But last night, I was freed from the stress of overfilled garbage cans and overdue
research projects,
To see her high and lifted up in the unconditional light which she shines for so many,
So many children, to whom she’s been a second mother, screaming, “Ms. Lucas!!!, Ms.
Lucas!!!,” as we see them in the mall.
The countless times that she’s saved me form suicide with a hope unfettered and sincere,
You see last night, I got a quick glimpse into my life as heaven sees it, and I saw my
wife for the first time, lifted high into the deep night, shining for the world.
Oh don’t get me wrong, I truly see her everywhere,
Every where there is courage, I see her wringing the neck of the crack head that almost
kidnapped our oldest in Chicago,
Every time I see kindness, I see her soothing voice in my ear saying, “Keep going baby,
you’re almost out of the tunnel.”
Whenever I see pain, I see her face when she looked down at her dead father’s body, stoic
and resolved that his tragedy would not mar her memory of his greatness.
Every time I see strength, I see a woman who buried her brother in the same summer of her
honeymoon and still smiled wide with sincerity.
But last night, God removed the veil, and I saw her through heaven’s eyes,
Glorious and heroic,
And in that moment I realized that nothing can stop me, because I sleep next to Orion.
Machel, the hero of old.
I don't understand,
This reflection I command.
Nothing goes as planned,
I watch my hopes disband.
Disappointed again and again,
Doing the best I can.
I don't understand,
Unconditional demands,
The grand scheme at hand.
I'm a Tired rubber band,
Ready to snap if I expand,
I couldn't be a better man.
I don't understand,
This plan of a Promise land.
It cost so much I can't stand,
Money feels bad in my hands,
Keeping me trapped to demands,
Testing what I can withstand.
I don't understand,
A way to create it on demand,
Spread it through the mainland.
Ending hungers command,
Letting Love become,
The Promise Land.

It is my graduation at age 50
There she stands with me, graying
Reminding me of her age these days
Not Me without Her!
She’s love and compassion, miracles
That happen when you’re a mom
I stand beside her, to the right
My cap sideways with a smile
That speaks of accomplishment
Not Me without Her!
Her heart seems connected to my own
Interacting through joys and tears
She hunches close to my side
Proud that I have done this thing
That she never did in her lifetime
Not Me without Her!
She races to my aide anytime, night or day,
Always prepared to love without conditions.

You are scared
You are scared, of the cage you think love puts you in
So much so, that you have not realized the cage you put yourself in for being scared to be loved
And through eyes
That does not make you free
Or wild
Or this out of the box thinker
It just makes you scared
It makes you fear life
You have been so hurt by whom ever
That you fear giving yourself completely to someone
Because if you do that
If you surrender
Then you know that you have no more control over you
For someone so free spirited
You fear love
I am not saying it is a good thing or a bad thing
But nonetheless, it is your thing
And in fearing love
You are going to run into yourself every single time
I can tell you want connection
I can tell you crave intimacy
But you will not allow you to be open to love
Love is not a cage
It is the most freeing feeling, that has ever come into existence
It is not to put anyone in a cage, but only to allow them to love you
So you have the will to want to live
To crave to live
You no longer crave to live
You only live by rules and routine
True love
Is unconditional and it is free
And those who knows its power, knows not to ever take advantage of it
It will never put you in this cage
Or want you to stop living life
And those who want to cage you
Are those who want to do nothing but trap you
Want to control you
And nothing more
That is not love if someone wants to do that to you
The best way I can describe love verus no love
Is that love knows one day it will have to let you go
But in doing so love will continue to love
It is not going to stop because you are no longer around
And with no love, it knows if it lets you go that it will not continue to love
It does not know how to survive without you
Because it has attached itself like a leech
But if its real love, if it is true
It wants to open the door to the cage that you and others have placed you in
It wants to open that door an allow you to flow freely
Into the unknown
And into the universes beauty
And I only hope one day, that you are conscious enough to realize, that love has entered your life
And I hope one day you will be open enough to receive it when it does
