Happiness and Joy

Never will another season bring so much joy
A feeling of love, togetherness and happiness
Ring out them festal bells and let’s be jolly
A savior was born, condescended, we are happy
We go to church, offer praise most joyful
Screams of delight, Children playing happily

Lovers holding hands gazing happily
At the beautiful sites, mountain's peaks, rivers of joy
Birds singing sweetly in the air, their songs so melodious and joyful
Every home, through their windows flowing sounds of rapture and happiness
The drunk on the street had one wish to make him happy
Give me some rum, he said, that will make me good and jolly

I played this song last night and it is so fitting, for the topic says Joyful, Joyful
It’s the season of good cheer, a time to give, to dance, to eat and be jolly
Only you can determine your level of happiness
To give of your means it is easy, but to give of yourself many cannot do this happily
Give without grudge, with no intention to receive, that's how giving becomes a joy
To exercise these gems will cleanse the soul; give warm feelings, make us happy

Laughter in the trees, laughter in the breeze, season of laughter, everyone is happy
Gift for baby, gift for mommy, gift for daddy, even the cats and dogs had to be joyful
What the world craves, so elusive for some, thank God in His love, we find great joy
Come one come all let’s jump on the bandwaggon, riding the coach called Super Jolly
The invitation is out, don’t settle in doubt, cast off your cares, ride with us, happily
Great people great love, warmth, sharing caring, all things good gives you happiness

Take friends, co-workers and fellow poets, toss in this great soup pot of happiness
Recycle love, make this world wonderful, song writer says, ‘don’t worry, be happy’
The world needs people who are positive, will see the best in others happily
A smile, a word of cheer, a few words of encouragement, make another’s day joyful
‘Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way’, what good is that if we are not jolly
The Lord has come, so unto this world be peace, love, and most important of all, joy

There is truth and beauty in the person with happiness, looking radiant and joyful
I would give my money just to be happy, to see my loved ones and friends real jolly
Luxury of life I would trade off hapilly, to have the thing the world craves for, joy

Premium Member My Favorite Number

I was born on July 20, 1958.

Being one of seven children and having a mid-summer birthday, even as a young boy, it was
not uncommon for my birthdays to come and go without much fanfare.

In the winter of my Fifth Grade year at school, we had an assignment to write a short-story.
I was already in love with writing way back then. My short story was on a topic that was
very much in the news at that time and a very interesting and exciting theme for a young
boy. I wrote a short story about me being the youngest astronaut in the space program and
being selected to be the first astronaut to walk on the moon. I was aware at the time, that
the US and USSR were in a Cold War race to be the first country to achieve that lofty goal
and I knew it was bound to happen soon. To make my story even more special, I wrote that
this wonderful event would take place over the coming summer, on my birthday!

Well, lo and behold, as the winter turned to spring and spring turned into summer the Apollo
11 space mission launched from Cape Canaveral carrying three astronauts, two of whom
were targeted to walk on the moon.

As my 11th birthday approached, without any notice from anyone else, I watched in awe as
the Apollo 11 made its way to the moon. On July 20th, 1969, the lunar landing module,
Eagle, set down on the moon! I remember expectantly waiting for the astronauts to be given
permission to exit the Eagle and step foot on the moon’s surface as the hours of my birthday
ticked down.

It was about 10:00 pm eastern time when my parents finally sent us all to bed on the news
that Mission Control made the decision to wait until the next day to send Neil Armstrong out
of the lunar module. With tears in my eyes, I went to bed thinking that I missed my chance
to share my birthday with history and to have had my short story prognostication come true.

At a few minutes before 11:00 my parents woke all of us up to come watch as Neil
Armstrong could wait no longer and talked Mission Control into letting him walk on the moon
without further delay.

So, at about 11:00 pm, on my 11th birthday, the men from Apollo 11 walked on the moon for
the first time in history. One small step for man and one giant link to history for one small
boy in Charleston, West Virginia.

And, that is when 11 became my favorite number.

Perhaps it's my theory; or is it my unwritten hypothesis? It's not a proven fact, but just a personal observation.

There are some people who geniunely need other people. At least in their minds, they cannot live without other people.

And I must say that I'm not speaking of co-dependency. There are people who geniunely do not need other people.

At least in their mind, their lives are better without other people. And I must say that I'm not speaking of anti-social behaviors.

There are lyrics in a popular song that seem to address this topic: "People who need people are the luckiest people in the world".

For the longest time, I did not understand the meaning of the song. It's nothing that I really talked much about, but I think I really get it now.

I once had an overseer and friend whom I considered to be a 'social animal'. In other words, It seems he had an addiction for people beyond normality.

I'm not sure if he felt pulled to them for their better well being, or wealther there were wounds in his own soul that required unusual social connections.

Anyway, perhaps the song is right; people who need people are luckier. Some are less social, but human nature seems to compel us towards each other.

Who's the Real Sell Out

What is this world really about?

I can listen to the President and still not understand a word out of his mouth,

Is he for the American people or is he only in office to institute wars,

He captured Saddam so I guess for his father he has settled all the scores.

But look at our nation right now; we’re still suffering from poverty,

Why not show our kids in the ghettos something else wonderful to see,

Let’s do away with the crimes and take the guns off the streets,

This would be my main topic for when the President and I come to meet!

“Dear Sir, how are you doing my name is Curtis and I’m a tax paying citizen,”

It seems like you’re glorifying your capture of Saddam but this war we didn’t win,

We have soldiers in Iraq dying for absolutely no reason,

And if they abandon your Father’s war you’ll hold them for treason!

Saddam was said to possess weapons of mass destruction,

I think an impeachment is call for before you lead us into corruption,

In 2005 I think Florida’s voting poles shouldn’t be mention,

And by the end of 2005 voting, George Bush Jr. should be awaiting his pension!

I have spoken about one of the problems in our society so I should assail another,

This cry for awareness goes out to my fellow black brothers,

We are caught up in Babylon’s system with all our material items,

Sean John puts out hundred dollars sweat suits and we’ll rush out to buy them.

Big Tymers wear these icy chains and we label them as stars,

While young black men sees this as truly living while locked up behind bars,

We have been brainwash and told that this was the way to be living,

I don’t believe in those views because my state of mind is to be giving.

I was born into this world with a little weak mind,

It was easily corrupted that it directed me to a short period of crime,

But a wise man came into my life and showed me the right way,

He’s in Heaven now but I still bout my head to him every night when I pray!

In time of dismay I know he’ll always be by my side,

And I thank you again Tennyson for teaching me to keep my pride,

At the beginning of this poem I asked, “What is this world really about?”

So everyone take a look at yourselves and tell me who’s the real sell out?

Saloon
Squeezed between office buildings
On lower Broadway
Desolate and out of the way
Faint neon sign marks the place
For the downtown art scene.
Poetry readings on Sunday afternoons
Only the regulars show up
Invited or not
Some mount the stage and
Recite a piece or two
To scattered applause.

The beat goes on
Summer nights fly by
No Sunday readings now
It’s Saturday and it’s a different place.
Crowd mingles
Three deep at the bar
A/C working on overtime while
Marvin Gaye’s What’s Going On plays
Jazzy and soulful
A monster hit
To no one’s surprise.

A hangout for anyone
Bodies waiting to meet
An Agent.
Or maybe a Publisher.
Or a Rep.
Anybody. Somebody. Anyone know somebody important?
Naw, this ain’t the place
This is St. Adrian’s
A place for
Artists.
Writers.
Sculptors.
Working class dreamers.
Pretenders and losers.
Wannabes.
Lost children and
Casual loners on the prowl.

Carol, alone in a corner booth
Glass of white wine in her hands
On the rocks of course
Smiles at everyone like a Mona Lisa.

Jack Micheline
Bronx’ original Beat
Wrote River of Red Wine in ‘58
Manuscript under his arm
Waits for someone
To buy him a drink

Elaine, beautiful in a peasant blouse
Scent of musk oil like a halo
Motions
To the young men
Who watch her hands
Move like deadly weapons

Stan’s a photographer. Sleepy, one night
Left his equipment in a car
Morning arrives and
Broken windshield screams
You’ve been robbed.

Junior, a sculptor, needs rent money for a walkup in the East Village
Otherwise he’ll live on someone’s couch
Gil does commercials
Until he finds an old lady
Then Hollywood here he comes
And Glenn is a writer with lots of ideas
But no paper and no place to go.

No one asked what I did for money
Or where I lived.
I was accepted with a simple sitdownhaveadrink.
Sometimes there’d be ten of us
Squeezed in a booth or
Around a table
Talking and talking.
Any topic not important
Just to meet and forget for awhile
The nagging loneliness and rejection.

It’s well past midnight
Chairs scrape the floor and there’s an echo in the walls
Left behind are empty glasses and stale beer
As the place begins to empty out.
We leave
Hitting the still streets
Looking for a cab
Or the nearest subway
But before we do
We promise to meet again.

It Was You

It was you from the moment I seen you.
I knew in my heart I would be the one to rescue you, but in the end you ended up saving me.
I see in your eyes the pain that lingered inside.
From your past relationships your pride was on cloud nine.
My theory was to put your fears aside.
You feel like I am like all the rest, so you continuously put my love through a test.
Why won’t you let me love you?
My love is a virtue, forever lasting external statue.
It was you my handcrafted imbue tattoo I cling to.
If you only knew how I truly feel about you.
I was sculpted only for you my sahib, I am your rib.
You’re a reflection of me desperately wanting love, but scared of the many risks that come with it.
Love should have come with an asterisk.
You’re my only weakness causing infectious affection.
It was your personality that spoke volumes to me, showering me with chivalry.
Persistency kept me where I wanted to be.
Let me be the one you need, all you need is faith as tiny as a mustard seed.
Abundantly this love will be an adjustment for you, and me.
If you should have a nightmare just know I will be there.
If you’re hurting and need to cry, I will be the one to wipe your eyes.
For my love only identifies.
I fell in love with you, not for the things you’re able to do.
                  It was simply you…
If you should happen to get laid off work, I will be the one standing in the door.
The only one you brace oneself for.
Your personal landing gear, I am whole heartily sincere.
I will be your rocking chair.
If the time comes and you begin to lose your hair, baby I will be your favorite barber chair your personal concierge.
It was you that introduced your love voodoo.
Only wanting you timeless déjà vu.
You made me love you; you are my lifetime band aid.
Now let me be your brigade, your right hand grenade.
You’re forever nursing aide.
The sharpest in your drawer knife blade.
The one and, only ace of spade your jack of trades.
Equivalent to money your love is symbolic.
A polished rocket you’re extraordinary, and solid.
Biologic process but simply flawless.
If I am getting off topic I might be losing conscious.
Thinking of you makes me forget my surroundings.
My heart starts pounding echo sounding.
I automatic start smiling, it’s simply astounding.
You knew it has always been you.
           It was you.

My Experince

First of all I wish to share my personal experience about my career.
Actually I am working as an educator. After my training, I found a job in one of the reputed colleges. I started working in this industry because one of my aunts worked in this industry. In her point of view, this is a very good field for youngsters to do interesting and satisfying work. Sharing what we know to others is one of the satisfying and godly things we can do to our society. This is why I chose to apply for this.

Now let’s come to the topic. As we all know, 20-30 years ago, Education was based only on teachers, libraries and books. People used to sit for hours in the library looking for the books related to their assignment works or research paper. But nowadays, everything and everyone is connected through Internet. Now we can complete the same work within a minute by surfing through the websites.

One of the great writers, ‘Ernest Agyemang Yeboah’ said - “What shapes the best in us dies when the best education dies! The best in us shall always be undermined when those that are responsible for shaping the best in us are always undermined!”

Whatever may be the skills, surely those skills will help the child later in it’s life to achieve something great.

Here we list some of the important skills which every child needs to incorporate.

Build concentration and self-discipline
Keeping yourself focused on one thing is really important, especially for students. Children grow according to some common schedules, habits, and routines only when their parents teach them. This will also help them learn control and focus on one particular thing.

Communication
It is important to develop interaction and communication between the children in everyday life and exchange ideas to develop their healthy, social and emotional skills. They should understand what to communicate and share with others. Sometimes they will need their parent’s help regarding how to share it most effectively.

Include reading habits
As we all know, reading is the best way to connect with yourself and with the world out there. As they improve their reading habit, they will be aware of words, particular situations, emotions or stories.
d respond to them, and help to solve their questions or confusions.

My Inner Breath Part:2

Fight for your country but we're all brother in soul
Why are we so ignorant of the situation
Why is there so much hatred between our nations
Why are we fighting for the wars
There has only been massive destruction in the course
They say fight against but when will it stop
We are just playing a game that's killing at the top
How i wish for no more discrimination only charisma
The hope for no more judging and no more racism
One united world is what we'd call it in those days
Not knowing the resemblance or the difference in those plays
Trying to make a change for a better place
I'm going to evolve into a change that rearrange
I'ma be a leader not a follower in my story
i"m not afraid to race in my glory
Watch me grow in these multitudes
With a desire to overcome in positive attitudes
Not just another one in the crowd
Wanting me, myself and i to be proud
Not if people know how I'm feeling
Or if my notes are any much revealing
I want to be listened to and memorized along history
My melodies will be more than the different like Elvis Presley

More than the unique but not lie the usual
Not afraid of being who I am I'm not unusual
Day by day trying to figure out what God plans for me
everyday Im looking for my destiny
Knowing none of this to you might make any sense
But lets worry about the now not the past tense
now there's a time for every season
Knowing everything happens for a single reason
Knowing how it feels to be alone in a world of many
But i have Jesus and I'm sure that's plenty
Cause and effect being human is a result of virtues and defects
There's a time to live and a time to die
There's a time to live and a time to cry
Wanting to do something here and about
Exhaling a shout
Wanting to cry out that for sure
Making a single wish on a million shooting stars
Believing I'm locked up but not behind bars
Locked inside a maximum security called inner self
Going through something I've never delft
Why is this happening to me
Reasons are complicated to see
Or to believe in such disasters
Sometimes i wish i could just die faster

A topic which seems long way off is really not that far
My soul locked inside a body jar
Sometimes having those dreams that make you doubt and intervene
It changes your perspectives with a rotation of electives
A mentality in a state of maturity
Not close to being a fallen angel with any much purity

For God's Sake

FOR GOD’S SAKE

When living "...of the world" despair unfurled.
I lost sight of heaven’s glorious pearl.
Truths shouted out from the depths of my mind.
God’s loving whispers to me stayed entwined.

Higher education became my goal.
Scientific teachings soon took its toll.
My mind strung out on various theories.
My soul, in doubt, became very weary.

But faith persevered and earned the prize.
My trust in God was more realized.
Despite what seemed to be a worldly life,
The soul of me soon felt less strife.

A professor asked my Evolution class,
How can creationism truly be? Alas.
Scriptures say God created…in seven days.
Right? Who shall rule in this duel of ways?

The Bible contradicts itself, He said.
His words from there, down doubts highway sped.
Evolutionary theory is certainly logical.
Creationism seems to be mythological.

Then came the clincher, clarity disparity.
The Bible says God created in seven days.
After the seven days, confusion starts to blaze.
First it says it’s finished; then, it starts to haze.

During that lecture, I was compelled to know.
Believing God created; what did the Bible show?
I prayed to grasp truths as man’s theories grew.
I did not choose to tell faith in God adieu.

At that moment, nothing else mattered.
I refused to let my faith be shattered.
That professor, on that day, changed my life.
My golden goal grew to be God’s true light.

Creation pondering absorbed my essence.
A lifetime flew without great wealth’s presence.
I was blessed with children; around them joy revolved.
But there was no rest until those questions were solved.

Strongly stayed upon life’s different path.
Even, when disrespect judged me with wrath.
I loved my children and bore the wait.
Seeking, the answers congealed…my fate.

My life was spent pondering this topic.
When finished, at last, truth embraced God…logic.
Then, my soul found rest from its weary state.
Thus, in the world…not of the world, I wait.
