Premium Member Tina Turner Songstress Rip

Tina, I saw you perform in Oakland, CA,yes, long ago.
But God has chosen to bring you to His eternal home today.
You, Hall and Oates, Huey Lewis and the News were all part of
      a magical, music show.
I feel, in heaven the Angels will shout a welcoming hooray!

How beyond grateful, I was to see you sing, dance and play.
My daughter had to stop me from dancing in the aisles.
I just was so moved, I jumped up to dance, all smiles
Your son left this planet in the year 2018~ how you cried!
Not tonight, you can swing on silver stars, side by side.

Premium Member Tina Turner In Wonderland

Tina lost her footing and fell and fell and fell and fell.
Where was she falling? Was this the beginning of hell?

What the heck? She blinked hard. Where was she?
A sign on a large table that was high up said eat me.

I’ll eat you! Tina said, when hell freezes over.
She marched to the door, wearing her pumps she called rover.

The door was locked, so she began doing her dance.
Rolling on the River, it always made her ex’s heart prance.

She got louder and prouder and the door exploded and melted.
She could have not been sexier if she had been kilt-ed.

Do proud Mary next! The Mad Hatter shrieked from the door.
Cheshire Cat and Tweedly Dee and Dum were there, by the floor.

Tina began to spin. Her short skirt showed off her sexy legs.
Okay she said, but after I do you will fix me some cheese eggs?

The whole menagerie was watching, and cheering, as Tina let loose.
The Mad Hatter ran over and gave her a pinchy-goose.

This stopped production and some of them gasped.
But Tina had seen worse, so she gave him a clasp.

She’s such a good sport; the best Wonderland had ever seen.
Off with her head! Yelled the Queen of Hearts, full of mean.

They hid her in a clamshell and served her breakfast too.
Tried to keep Tina Turner forever, just between me and you.

But she is a survivor. She always escapes a bad scene.
And she did it as a lady, showing not one ounce of mean.

Premium Member Concert of My Dreams

The concert of my dreams would include Cher and Tina Turner.
Throw in Andy Williams, Perry Como and the Glen Miller Orchestra
Adam Lambert, Jessie Blaze Snider and Lady Gaga will be doing solos.
We will have Roger Taylor of Queen on the drums, naturally.
Bette Midler is dressed in style as our guest conductor,
she breaks into song and Whoopie takes the maestro hat.
The Beatles have come back to life, to round us out.
Willie and Johnny Cash have just arrived to get this party started.
Is that Mama Cass I see? And Helen Reddy?
Oh, yes, this concert rocks!
I close my eyes, optimistic they know what to do, and well!
The concert of my dreams!

Premium Member The Choice Is Yours

The choice is yours. There are four cauldrons of magic potions.
Choose green, and you will be happy the rest of your life.
Choose blue, and you will become empathetic and loving.
Choose yellow and you will be able to turn invisible.
Choose silver and you will be able to travel between planets.
Choose gold and you will be able to run up the side of skyscrapers.
Choose pink and you will be able to swim with sharks safely.
Choose red and you will be able to sing like Mariah Carey.
Choose purple and you will be able to dance like Tina Turner.
Choose aqua and you will be able to look like Cher did in 1971.
I choose rainbow, the wise woman said.

Premium Member What's Light Got To Do With It

Light
Can simply not be held
It finds a way to shine
Tie it up and hide it
Lock it in the basement
Beat it down until it whimpers, still

It needs but one crack to survive
Exacting its destiny
Bursting forth its energy
                       Living on sheer will

Anna Mae was such a light

Nutbush may have lost a girl
          But Heaven gained a soul
And though her mortal figure rests
Her light will live forever

Proud Mary radiates
       River deep and mountain high
What’s love got to do with it?
What’s light got to do with it?
Everything

Premium Member Opal Engagement Ring

They were a young couple.
Did not care about traditional wedding stuff.
She said she did not care about a ring.
He felt strongly that she should have one.

He got down on a knee and proposed.
Not in front of witnesses or family.
But in her favorite place, and she said yes.
He sealed the deal with a sparkling opal ring.

It had been suggested to him by her sister.
Tina knew that her sister loved opals.
They were married for over fifty years.
Their financial circumstances changed.

He offered to trade the ring in for a diamond ring.
His bride said “no thank you” each time.
This beautiful opal ring had led her down the path
To a perfect new life, with her perfect groom.

Premium Member For My Husband

I’m learning to see
the different colors that encompass
more than a shadow
of myself.

When I was 17, I loved silhouettes
(in photographs, drawings), etc.
I understood silhouettes
because they are simpler
than understanding people.

And now, at the ripe age of 39,
let me just say,
there was once a woman (me)
who loved you more than she loved herself
(which is love, according to the poems).

I would dance to Tina Turner
in the middle of Walmart
for everyone to see,
but just caring
that you were watching

and I’d serenade you,
like Daniel Levy in Schitt’s Creek
because you are
“Simply the Best.”

Premium Member Cantina Tina

Cantina Tina never met one meaner
Though she sure looked pretty as the night grew long;
And so did I, in the mirror of the john.
Bottom of the bottle is where the grass is greener.

A Skid Row guy with an eye for Pasadena;
Spend my nights between seventh and third
With old Jack D ’til the world is blurred.
Bottom of the bottle is where the grass is greener.

Out of County jail for a misdemeanor,
“No sir, Judge won’t be doing that no more;”
Hot foot it down to the nearest liquor store.
Bottom of the bottle is where the grass is greener.

Once had a girl, oh boy, you should have seen her
“It’s poker, pool, or me if you want me staying here:”
So yes, I went ahead and chose the boys and beer.
Bottom of the bottle is where the grass is greener.

So here I am, eyeing Cantina Tina
She’s sure looking pretty as the night grows long;
And so do I, in the mirror of the john.
Bottom of the bottle is where the grass is greener.

Premium Member Tina's Night

Beltran ,the artist, has seen Christina,
seen her crawling form, statuary still,
in the field of grass
inching only in the minds eye.
He has wondered, as did Wyeth
what might she have been
been before the polio took her lower limbs
when she could stand and walk upright.

Beltran's nymph Christina 'light' in sailor pink
sleeveless and fragile stands stalwart
and considers the blacken air, the
skeletal house the ghost lights in the sky.
No forward motion can we spy
and action lays behind her
her arms and wrists crossed.
And though the rows invite cajole
the Little Tina toward the night
we see she's having none of it
a tornado comes this night.

Premium Member I want Tina Turner to Knock on my Door

I am trying to narrow this idea down to one
If I could choose one person to knock on my door
Bette Midler, Cher, Reba, Dolly Parton and Liza Minelli come to mind
Wait! Tina Turner; yes, I want Tina to knock on my door

I have loved her energy since the first second I saw her
On TV in the sixties, doing Proud Mary like only she can do it.
The way she moved those flashy sequins was unbelievable
Those dancing legs and that unique voice, showing me woman power

Woman power. Wait a second. I loved Helen Reddy too.
I am woman, hear me roar – that changed my entire life.
And I love the other four that I already mentioned.
No, it is Tina Turner, definitely I want Tina to knock on my door.
