What's Light Got To Do With It
Light
Can simply not be held
It finds a way to shine
Tie it up and hide it
Lock it in the basement
Beat it down until it whimpers, still
It needs but one crack to survive
Exacting its destiny
Bursting forth its energy
Living on sheer will
Anna Mae was such a light
Nutbush may have lost a girl
But Heaven gained a soul
And though her mortal figure rests
Her light will live forever
Proud Mary radiates
River deep and mountain high
What’s love got to do with it?
What’s light got to do with it?
Everything
