I will paint the most glorious dragon today.
She will come to life upon her completion and
She will take a name for herself.
She will breathe fire on my enemies, and she will gnash
Her yellow teeth and scare their pants off.
My enemies will be sorry they ever wronged me!
I will watch her take them by their feet, and throw them around
Like dolls, into trees, and over houses, they will all be crying.
Grandma! She interrupts me with her big blue trusting eyes.
What about not hurting people? What about loving everybody?
I stop and think, not coming up with anything.
I know! She says, laughing and clapping. You will be a super
Hero Grandma, and you will catch them all and give them hugs and stuff.
I look into her eyes, knowing I am going to completely fold now.
Yes, I agree. That is exactly what I will do.
We both smile.
Yesterday I was walking in the early morning fog
When I stopped at the edge of a field to watch a man and his Frisbee dog.
The man would throw his Frisbee east, west, north or south
the dog would chase it, jump up in the air and catch it in his mouth.
Next that dog would trot that Frisbee back and lay it at the man’s feet
The man would pick it up…toss it again…and this scenario would repeat.
After each chase the dog would wait as excitedly as he did the chase before
and I couldn’t tell by looking at their faces which one enjoyed it more…
I noticed the more I stood there watching them…seeing how that Frisbee flew
seeing how that dog would jump…I was smiling too.
I watched until they finished…until the final chase was done
and marveled at how dog and man were having so much fun.
My thoughts drifted back to our dog- he couldn’t catch a Frisbee at all
but he would act just like that Frisbee dog when we threw a tennis ball.
And I remembered when we played fetch…how I loved to watch him run
how just like this man and his Frisbee dog…we too had so much fun.
Our pets will pass away too soon…before us…this is true
and now I wonder if there isn’t an explanation…a rationale for why they do…
To remind us life is short and to get the most from our life span
perhaps we should be chasing as many frisbees as we can…
Perhaps we should be running in the fields…jumping over logs
and having as much fun living…as that man and his Frisbee dog.
(This is a fictional poem)
I regretted trying to pick up a woman who was drinking coffee.
I used a line on her and she threw it at me.
It went in my face and on my shirt.
It was scalding hot and it really did hurt.
I made certain that the next lady I tried to pick up didn't have any coffee to throw in
my face.
She didn't have coffee but she did have mace.
The next lady I tried to pick up turned out to be married.
I couldn't walk after her husband broke my legs so I had to be carried.
Trying to pick up women is something that I've come to regret.
Now I talk to women online because they can't throw coffee on the internet.

When I was only ten years old, I yelled at my TV
For I could not believe the filth they played to kids like me
Right there upon my TV screen, a frog with skin of green
Was lusted after by a pig whose plans were quite obscene
That frog would always act like he was playing hard to get
But that there pig would have her way… it was a certain bet
Well, some years on I met that frog and frankly I saw red
I glared right at that dirty frog and this is what I said…
Up yours, Bacon-Balls, there’s no ifs and no buts
I’d bet ten bucks you let that pig have access to your nuts
So up yours, Bacon-Balls, your love life is a crime
A frog that sleeps with pigs should be a frog that’s doing time
Amphibians ain’t meant to speak, but he’d been on TV
He stood there with an attitude and tried to make me see
I glared at him and said there’s nothing here to be discussed
A frog that sleeps with piggies is a frog I’ll never trust
Up yours, Bacon-Balls, there’s no ifs and no buts
I’d bet ten bucks you let that pig have access to your nuts
So up yours, Bacon-Balls, your love life is a crime
A frog that sleeps with pigs should be a frog that’s doing time
See, I’d just seen my dentist and he told me you’d been in
He said he had to throw you out or land one on your chin
He wouldn’t see you then, nor would he polish up the gnashers
Of any frog whose teeth and breath smelled much like bacon rashers
Up yours, Bacon-Balls, there’s no ifs and no buts
I’d bet ten bucks you let that pig have access to your nuts
So up yours, Bacon-Balls, your love life is a crime
A frog that sleeps with pigs should be a frog that’s doing time
That frog has really messed me up. My nightmares feature girls
They all have snouts, four trotters and a little tail that curls
My given name is Herman so my friends all call me Hermie
But in my nightmare all those pigs squeal, “Come to Mumma, Kermie!”
Up yours, Bacon-Balls, there’s no ifs and no buts
I’d bet ten bucks you let that pig have access to your nuts
So up yours, Bacon-Balls, your love life is a crime
A frog that sleeps with pigs should be a frog that’s doing time
I only hope that, one day, on him, law enforcement calls
And at the gallows they will hang him by his bacon balls
Be sure that I shall be right there to watch him as he falls
And as they pull the lever, I’ll cry, “Up yours, Bacon Balls!”
It's not the pitch-black scene that surrounds me ominously.
Suspense-filled 'what's hidden within?' feelings heavily haunt
Visions of serpents creeping around precariously
Appear and disappear like nightmares and jeeringly taunt
Though, sometimes, death-like is this dark environment outside.
There's a purgatory-like gloom encircling me within.
From the angels of inner illumination, I hide
My wrath, rage, hate, and mercilessness throw me into sin.
A glimpse of awareness, yet, like a little ray, is seen.
A lamp of optimism, though flickering, is burning still.
Why should I be my foe? Nay. May my friendship with me clean.
Shouldn't I, like an enlightened self, do the divine will?
The nectar brim fills when petals unfold in detachment.
Hungry flies and bees around drink to their hearts' contentment.
Attachment, aversion, and delusion are malignant.
Defeating darkness, I find existential fulfilment.
Do you
always feel
like....
Somebody's
watching you
That
would be me
REALLY
I look
inside souls
to find
ugly moles
And
when I dig in
I'll FIND
your
hearts desire
It's
my little game
thats fun
in
my playing
and
when I find
what's
really inside
I'll
unease you
just to
please you
because
I'm
FEROCIOUS
because I
Just want
to see
how much
you'll blush
I'll
snow you
just to
throw you
Because
my intelligence
is rewarding
my eccentricity
I've got
Betty Davis
Eyes
That are
apon you
So don't
be foolish
and let
weakness slip
I'll be
right on you
Because
I've got
Betty Davis
EYES
Kim Carnes song
I walked into that place
Sun shining on my face
Knowing I'd leave soon
But as my heartbeat picked up its pace
Growing fond of this new space
I already dreaded the sight of the moon
I never once thought of leaving
Even though It could never be my home
I still just kept believing
I could forever blindly roam
But soon closing time came
I was no longer treated the same
The dishes were served and the bill over paid
But the servers grew cold and their smiles started to fade
However I still would've stayed
Even in a place with no lights
And cold nights
I would've been the most loyal of clients
Even if I had to be a cleaner , any kind if alliance
That meant I would belong to this building even if it was no place to live
I would throw tantrums , behave like little children
I would throw in everything I have to give
But it wasn't enough
Neither was my love
And then the cab was here
It pulled up to the place
Like I pulled down my sleeves
To wipe the tears of my face
Full with love unrecieved
It was time to go home
To leave like I always knew I'd have to
Even though it was prone
Why did I have yo leave it , leave you
Give me a castle, scepter and crown.
Magical power such as the ability to fly,
Throw in world peace if you have extra time.
Gift me with enthusiasm, joy, and love.
A rhinestone tiara, pink feathered boa,
And a sexy, gorgeous body to die for.
Throw in unity for all nations if you want.
Give me a golden throne room and memories of bliss.
A glamorous silk robe embroidered with peacocks and purples.
Throw in love for fellow man if you have to meet some moral criteria.
Gift me a corpulent intimidating twenty-two foot pet dragon
With a sense of humor, but the ability to roast my enemy for dinner.
If this is not possible, bring me something shiny that you would bring to a crow.
Suggestions: rhinestones, polished glass, aluminum foil, chrome, a door knob.
Master Debaters
By Franklin Price
2/15/2015
Master debaters are really great
We've seen them on TV
Jerking us around a lot
Making little sense to me
Speaking little of the issues
Would rather get down in the mud
Want to speak of how they're heroes
And the other guy's a dud
I question their abilities
And if they're qualified
They like their chicken baked
While the country likes it fried
If you think this poem is silly
So are debaters on the stage
Their child-like interactions
Really put me in a rage
None of them are qualified
Never been the president
Never in the military
When others signed and went
Now they want to be the chief
Of the military clan
How can they be commander
Of what they don't understand?
They speak of illegal orders
That other presidents have signed
They'll sign orders to negate them
Doesn't that just blow you mind?
Will throw away what they don't like
No matter that it's law
Can't think of a more foolish thing
That I've ever seen or saw
Watch closely who you think you like
What they say that they can do
If the Constitution says they can
Then they're the one for you
The sound of army boots marching upon marble tiles
that leads into a corridor near the towers
and the echoes of screaming children
brought me to my knees and I found myself
in an unusual place staring in space
I am staring down the corridors of hell
I wake up thinking that I was dead
I must have had a bad dream for
Everything around me was surreal
I couldn’t explain how I got from the
the train to the square but lots of
people had gather there and a special
event was happening there, a rally was
about to begin and some people were
getting ready to sing and nightfall suddenly
Arise he spirits of the dead
awake out of your slumber
arise and join the band and
march through the street lined
with gold and replenish your weary souls
You have been sleeping for a hundred year
while the devil is creating havoc over here
arise and come to the square, there is lot s of things to
do over here, the rapture has come and gone
and left many furlong on the dry lawn
Pick from where you left off
before they throw you in the dark
the grave has no power over you
loosen yourself to love and it will protect you
arise ye sleeping soul, and meet me at
the square and you will be made whole
The morning sun burst though the skies
spreading its radiance upon the earth
and filled the street with laughter as the people
were awaken from a deep slumber
morning compose a strange hymn and the people
begin to sing, and they wrap the morning
around their waist and threw their hands in the air
and give praise.
