On the Rocks
Whiskey on the rocks, advised by my doc
combats dementia, so bring on the blocks
no need for a glass; I'll have me the bottle
with a big bowl of ice this baby I'll throttle

The whiskey's gone,...

RITES OF PASSAGE
Each Christmas we all gathered there,
‘Aunt Clare, has more room ,after all’ with
her trestled tables and chair.
Grown-ups swigging their brown bottled ale,
young-uns, lemonade with paper straw,
VE style parties, once more.
Lunch over, the voice...

I followed milky and mouldy scents,
down cobbled and narrow paths,
only to see it riddled with rats,
feasting on Feta and Camembert,
whilst the wine sipping Uppers prepared to
clash against the cider swigging downers!

The Fromage Frenzy and Curd...

THINK PINK

Me and Mary once went out for a ride upon the sea
I recall swigging down tequila just Mary and me
Two huge engines made that boat seem to suggest it could fly
Or was it just...

Drink up daredevils!
It’s not a joke.
The human toe in your drink
Is not just taking a soak.

It’s challenged many drinkers
And many have exclaimed,
“Ewwww, What’s going on?...

Deadly Drinking Brings Her Home
Not caring what people think
She just takes another drink
Stronger than the one before
She is swigging more and more
Trying to drown all the pain
From the sight of the blood stains
She walked into late one night
Memories of...

Chet lived creepily in the back of the tavern, hidden.
No one bothered him. He lived vicariously through the others.
The pretty barflies who flitted in chatting too loudly.
Flipping their hair. He had a salacious appetite,...

Semi-Sail
the rig sails on
the captain at the wheel
steel billowed crosswinds
and Willie's gruff twang

come back...maybe not flip-flop
rigs riggin' is sailin', movin'
waving goodbye to yesterday
I'm a stowaway into today

ahead is clear horizon
aft is crewed distant past
the...

Last Light, With Her By the Library
Inside fleshy walls, wallowing in youth,
lava coarses corrosive through peeled licorice
onward, fleeing the thundering stone
vacillating at the center of a man slugging
elderberry wine, to become both numb and Dionysus.
Yellow convertibles park on brown-banged boulevards
obstructing...

Visiting Warner Brothers for a fan was a must
In the magic and the mystery we all did trust

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Twas the night before new year, and all through the inn,
They were drinking the whiskey and swigging the gin;
They raised up their glasses, as the countdown begun,
Said goodbye to the old year, with...

The teapot house takes our meadow to the brink.
It makes us feel delightful, increasing our pink.
She is colorfully whimsical, an imaginative drink.
We feel her compassion, as around her we slink.

Have you ever been inside? A...

God Over Us
God over us
like hard rock covering land mollusks,
shielding them
from tropic sun
 (like hell raging on Gomorrah)
and velvety ocean breeze
carrying salt to season coconut water.
Zebra type, like a leopard’s stubborn spots,
Shun the selfless...

I have my first cider

Swanning around like you own the place
Swigging your drink

I have my second cider

You brag all the time, can't you shut up?
Your voice is annoying

I have my third...

Grown-ups swigging their brown bottled ale,

Lunch over, the voice decibels rose,
raucus laughter oiled by the beer
brought forth more plates of festive cheer.
Cards slid noiselessly over the American
cloth, copper coins switching from pot to pot,
enthralled children watching on, ‘til
banished with a special treat, to the cold
stairs, or now bare front room, or to play
out in the deserted  twilight street.
Every year the ritual was much the same,
a  family ‘bring and share’ , long before
such gatherings were given this name...

Yellow Dress
if i woke up from

there at the fridge

into her bloody mouth,
wearing nothing
