Meeting friends
I am not a nice person I have little time
for meaningless natters and tend to be grumpy
and often I can be rude, and I'm not too fond of pomposity.
I{m unfailingly friendly with people who have fallen
on a hard time, there is a musician who came to Portugal he had
A job playing the guitar at a restaurant than the pandemic struck
and musicians were the first to go.
He prefers to eat outside well aware people think he is a tramp.
He has like me have travelled much, and we have a lot to talk about
I would not dream of giving money it would be offensive.
My other new-found friend is a man who looks like a retired diplomat
he had been to Sweden and Norway and was critical how Norway
had become too reliant on oil at the expense of other industries
such as shipping, fishery and farming
He asked me one day for twenty cents I gave him 50 cents.
No, he said I only need twenty to buy lactose-free milk.
He is slightly eccentric but very learned.
In the street where I live there are many new; rich people and
as such, snobbish and often intolerable beings.
But I have two friends, and it makes it interesting leaving the house
even if it is for a short time during the day.
Whatever happens when days counted as weeks?
And years counted as astrological countdowns
What ever happened to disco rap battling drums?
On streets filled graffiti and sand castles
Whatever happens to shoes with no laces?
And bras with no straps
Backpack ladybugs with taps
Bell bottoms Montreal
Sweden Russia Columbia streets
Backward aimed down guns strictly meant for
Cisco band operative thieves
Whatever happens to justice stringing down a cubical wall?
Hanged down gavels London has fall
Lint brushed suits and gated Citadels
Bells ring time church broken pulpits spill
What ever happened to make up brushing Mack trucks?
Highway in France
Long stroking discipline Chinese to Japan
Whatever happened to words screaming off a page?
Sandy still beat breathing cells covered backward again
What happened to life metaphoric acronym?
Made fun of stage left to mend
Jokes to tell anchors to sail
What happened to the decrease in operating jail to sale?
What happened man made fictional crap
Backsliding genocide and presidents’ mysteriously vanish
What happened is told with a story that has no end?
Stopped up water turned brown cased in a sprite river bend
What happened what happened if the time was not set?
It will be broken and told to lie up a case with no Chef
No knife no swords
The word would not be told
What happen to happen?
Happen has caught a cold!
You thought with your army victory was won
But Vladimar Putin just look what you've done
Sweden and Finland are now joining the alliance
Giving you the middle finger in their defiance.
They've seen what you've done in the Ukraine
And they do not want to suffer similar pain
NATO is now expanding like never before
And soon it will be at Moscow's front door.
Good overcomes evil every single time
In the near future you'll pay for your crime
But you can't leave Russia; you're in a cage
And if you do an assassin will engage.
Only your close family will mourn your loss
All the civilised nations won't give a toss
Your scum army too all deserve excutution
The sane world would see it as retribution.
Ukraine will win and they shall overcome
Your army are rapists and murdering scum
They'll always be synonymous with atrocity
And the image they portray is one of depravity.

Going out on a limb! :)
Yee haw, woo hoo and holy crap
We beat the U.S. by crickey
It's Canada's game so it's only right
Forever ingrained in our psyche
The women won gold as predicted
But our men will have it much tougher
Up against a talented team from Sweden
For gold, it'll go down to the buzzer
Look at the pink patch of land to the north
Just above the 49th parallel
It'll be coloured a very bright red and white
Sound will reach ten thousand decibels
There's really no question in this guy's mind
The gold is a foregone conclusion
We are the best, there's no longer doubt
No longer will there be confusion
Go Canada Go! will be heard loud and clear
Olympic Gold Medalists in hockey
Reigning champs for the next four years
Can't blame me for feeling cocky

Valor
Valiant Danish women –
Village of Helsingor –
Virtue's vital vanguard
Veiled in the Sewing Club
Violence victims freed
Via Oresund’s strait -
Victory of valor
In 1943 after the Nazi occupation of Denmark, the women of Helsingor Denmark formed a resistance group called the Elsinore Sewing Club. Under this guise they were able to save hundreds of Jewish Danes from concentration camps by ferrying them across the Oresund Strait, two miles to neutral Sweden. It is estimated 90% of Denmark’s Jewish population was saved. It is a remarkable story of valor and compassion.

God, I have a prayer for you today.
It’s just from me, but please hear what I have to say.
Millions are being abandoned, starved and soon alone, where some in Ukraine are still free to roam.
Children are becoming hungry, helpless and alone.
Give them bravery, messengers of God,
imaginary staffs and protective rods.
(Psalm 23)
Our leader’s horrible disdain has caused many to join The Hopeless Train.
Beg your angels to collect their pain.
Smalls tears are turning into puddles of fears.
Guardian angels, Ukraine needs protection, guidance and love,
hope, reassurance and your spiritual hugs,
from all your celestial beings above.
To my Deedoosh and my Babusys hold each other tight.
Hnhely, we pray for you today and tonight.
To Germany, Danke
Great Britain, Much obliged
Sweden, Tack
France, Merci
New York City, Thank you
And The United Kingdom.... our freedom.
Keep Ukraine’s enemies away.
From those on TV and those who are evil, far away.
President Zelensky my hope for you,
End the war for Ukrainian’s families,
Stand strong,
believe the world will right this wrong.
"Keep rising, keep moving, your silence is the loudest response"
Help Ukrainians to be brave in the face of fear.
People are trying to support you far and near.
Unite us together
and please now forever.
God, you listened to my prayer today, thank you for hearing what I had to say.
Cyn-filteration..propagating a world stage cynicisam
Also, sin-trifi-cation, pervading the chatterers on hills

administered.' Down to the so named gentry, and
Aspiring winners.? So what is this councel
Whence springs its root? More to the point
Though, where is its fruit? Is it M A I D in
Canada, or the choice to die, in Sweden or
Britain.? Where some try' to introduce.? But that surely Gods choice.? Is it you will
Own nothing? Or farmers can't grow.' At least independantly.' Do you not Know.? So

Caleb Vasquez wanted to accelerate civil war
Tried to shoot up a Mosque, didn't get past the door
His manifesto said the race war is coming
Under our feet, the tremors are humming.
He didn't like blacks, illegals too
He admired Hitler, and that Nazi crew.
He asked why historically Jews run from so many places
He thought that proved that evil hides behind their faces.
The Patriot Front blames Jews for immigration
Hundreds marched recently, to my consternation.
But I look at Sweden, Germany, they opened their borders
It wasn't a Jewish ruler who gave those orders.
I look at Russia, that brought illegals to the Polish side
Putin wanted to cause chaos, at least one Polish guard died.
I look at the boats coming into Britain from France
French leaders won't stop them, a puzzling stance.
So Jews get it from both sides
They flee Muslim anger, flee a rising tide
From Canada, from Sweden, and from France
For a safe life, they look for a chance.
Then they are blamed by some folks for the surge
Jews have gotten killed because of that in Pittsburgh
Now Mr. Vasquez went after Muslims and killed three
I hope he's wrong about civil war as our destiny.
The Mosque he shot up also went off track
Two 9/11 hijackers prayed there before their attack
And the Imam said Hamas attacks were the result of genocide
This was days after Oct 7, after torture, and homicide
Vasquez also blames women, for not dating him
I don't blame them, but he's not alone, and that's grim.
I don't want this civil war, can't we be brothers?
Don't want to be blamed for the sins of others.
A veteran winger of the American women’s soccer team,
Megan Rapinoe is much maligned now,
for she unexpectantly missed a penalty in the shootout
in the crucial match against Sweden that caused
the USA, the defending champion, to crash out
of the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023.
Amidst controversy, Megan was included in the team
at the last moment for her 4th World Cup appearance,
in recognition of her talent as a crafty player,
known internationally for her astute style of play,
scoring 63 international goals,
2 directly from corner shots, a great feat.
She is the recipient of the Golden Boot
and the Golden Ball awards for the best tournament player
at the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2019 in France.
She is recognized as the Time magazine’s
one of the most influential people of 2020,
and received in 2022 the Presidential Medal of Freedom,
nation’s highest civilian honor.
Her autobiography (One Life) detailing her early life,
career highlights and setbacks,
activism for racial and gender equality,
and personal relationships,
became New York Time’s best seller.
Though she failed the USA soccer team,
and crushed its hope to win the 2023 World Cup,
and even if she disappears
from the women’s international soccer scene,
Megan Rapinoe will be remembered as a legend.
Bob Dylan, Woke
I can’t help but digress
When Bob Dylan expressed
(And consider gender sexist),
“How many roads must a man walk down
Before you call him a man?”1
They say he was the voice of a generation,
A poet deserving of privilege
And a Nobel Prize in Literature.2
Step back and contemplate his self-portrait,3
The mask of woke; pick, choose, and pass.
And I look at myself and reflect,
That Bob Dylan’s self-portrait
Is just a reflection of myself.
