Discrimination

We are pushed in living
And believing
That world has changed
And liberty is inked with golden page

Go all over
And you shall discover
The practice of apartheid
Very much strongly held

Discrimination’s like a snake
Its teeth in poisoned prejudice,
Causing ache

Discrimination, abolished all warmth and spirit
And returned with a new hate
Relishing its pain brought
Never thought of halt

It is lack of understanding
That goes on unending
Whether in advanced countries
Or countries of poverties

Color plays important part
People may not say on face but start
The use of language in slur manner
This creates bitter feelings

When you are in minority
Or not in majority
You shall be kept at bay
From power and have no say

This leads inequality
Imbalance in taking decision directly
Show the intolerance
And sometimes witness full violence

Why do you think you're better
If your culture is not the same?
Yes, maybe you seem different
But deep inside all are the same.

Why do they think they're better?
If one is black and one is white,
If one is man and one is woman.
They are the same, that is their right.

If one is straight and one is gay,
They are no different, just the same
If one is Christian and one is Jew,
All come from God, we are the same.

try snd get to know all people,
And show them what you think and do,
You'll see how others live their lives.
When you like them, then they'll like you.

If one learns to understand
And respect all points of view,
Then peace on Earth must surely come
It is up to you. And you. And you....

So Old Acquaintances Forgot Drawn Back Together

Should old acquaintances
be forgot

Fear not dear fellowship
of extended family and
still but close estranged friends

Since alas last we met as we
do on Old New Year's Eve again

Sigh not as surely rotten circumstances will surely draw
us back together

Under the guise of one this
fragile life's most
cruelest of intentions

When we are forced to gather
each and every one of us
adorned dressed in sullen
black

To so called feign celebrate
the untimely death and passing
of a certain someone

We cared enough so much
about throughout our life

We felt duty bound to appear
amongst the many mourners
here today

Because you yourself quite
well know that if death was
on the other foot

And it was you not their
remains being lowered
into a shallow grave

They would be doing exactly
the same are you are now

Stood teary eyed with hands
firmly pressed behind said
back head tilted downward
to six below ground zero abyss

Gladly wishing and willing
to take your place instead

The topic toast and boast
of old acquaintance

Gone but not to be forgotten

Come strike the countdown
clock

Of next years

Old new years eve

Premium Member My God, Thank You For Binding Me With Your Law

June 14 Scripture Meditations Based on Proverbs 7

Key Verse – Proverbs 7:2-3 Keep my commandments, and live; and my law as the apple of thine eye. Bind them upon thy fingers, write them upon the table of thine heart.

MY GOD, THANK YOU FOR BINDING ME WITH YOUR LAW

Thank You for binding me with Your law’s commandments
Along Your love’s caring accomplishments
That I may esteem Your favour in all my divine involvements
Sincerely glorifying You in my engagements.

Thank You for binding me with Your law’s wisdom
Along Your truths about Your kingdom
That I may seek Your will with spiritual freedom
Surely pleasing You while overcoming boredom.

Thank You for binding me with Your law’s direction
Along Your guidance through Your instruction
That I may follow Your ways with devotion
Steadfastly magnifying You midst praise-filled jubilation.

Thank You for binding me with Your law’s standard
Along Your principles in moving spiritually upward
That I may value Your entrusted ministry with due regard
Soberly offering to You midst trials so hard.

Thank You for binding me with Your law’s righteousness
Along Your holiness for my uprightness
That I may labour in Your work with willingness
Strongly depending on You for my diligence-goodness.

Thank You for binding me with Your law’s record
Along Your inerrancy as my Saviour and Lord
That I may trust Your Word, the Spirit’s sword
Securely living for You along faith-ford.

Christ Was the Holiest and Humblest Man

Christ said to his followers gathered around
him," Follow me through my journey,
I can't promise peace but salvation;
the betrayer has already kissed me,
and I am ready to shed my blood
for your sins and give you back Heaven.'

If even an unbeliever instantly renounces
his faith and embraces Christianity,
and he sincerely believes in Jesus
willing to walk with him the rusty roads
and climb steep hills to convert others
who derided him spitting in His face shamelessly:
hasn't he found the true refuge and his mighty throne?
Can anybody break into his home built out of stone?

Christ was the holiest and humblest man,
despite Satan's rage to make him sin;
he surely prevailed sending him back to Hell,
be on the Savior's side and live well.

Between the lines of Poetry Soup
Lies partly hidden the real scoop

Poets with emotion’s overflow
Spillage of which, they do not know

Leaks between lines of what they write
Discerning souls, bring them to light

Fellow poets with this "disease"
Wanting to love, wanting to please

Can read between the lines so fair
And see love affairs written there

And secret longings all scream out
Though unstated, there is no doubt

Which poet is in love with whom
And which affair will surely bloom

Clear to read Love’s Richter scale
The in between codes, never fail

Poems present and poems past
Love or friendship, now which will last?

Terms of endearment, every one
Is a love song that can't be sung

Between the lines, you can’t deny
Affairs of heart are flying high

For we are poets one and all
Programmed, it seems, in love to fall…

With those whose words can so ignite
Who touch our souls with sheer delight

Chorus:

Between the lines
Between the lines
The love is there
Between the lines

The long standing and hidden pain
The hints of love that's gone insane

Between the lines
Between the lines
YOUR love is there
Between the lines.

Take care of your sister my momma said.
That is all that ran through my head.
You never know if she would have a seizure,
And don't let anyone try to tease her !

As years go by I try to keep her in reach.
I tell her be careful don't go to the beach.
Did you take your pills, did you eat ?
Do you need a ride, do you want a treat ?

Oh my god I wasn't there for you.
You seized alone, what should I do ?
Two weeks in the hospital, I came everyday,
You wanted out, didn't want to stay.

Wheelchair bound with a broken hip
Damn dear sister why did you have to slip.
You became belligerent and oh so snappy.
Being off your meds made you so unhappy.

STOP !

Stop telling me what to do!
Stop following me like a mother bear.
Get out leave me alone!
And don't come back I really don't care !

I didn't understand that coming off her meds
Would create a person that I didn't know
Since a wee one the seizures controlled her
We hovered over her because we loved her so.

My sister cut me out of her life
Didn't want to be told what to do.
I really didn't blame her, I know that's what I'd want
To think and do for myself and then follow through.

The doctors put her on so many pills,
Some days she's lost, some days she's thrilled.
It's the trances I hate, there nothing to do
But watch that she is safe till it's finally through.

I've learned that the lady I see this day
Isn't the sister with whom I played.
Her poor mind now functions the best it can
Considering the meds even affect her stand.

We are back together with love in our hearts
I don't tell her what to do and she no longer roars
I have a new appreciation for people like her
Her meds control the seizures, she doesn't need more!

My sister is an amazing strong lady who has been through hell and back.
She should surely have a reservation beside the throne of God.

Premium Member A Last and Lasting Acorn

Deep within impermanence and continuity of change

Seeds lie shielded waiting and protected for the moment

They trust that the cupid cupule holds the bow and arrows

Firmly based in the grasp of nature and uncharted destiny

Sheltered for the generation of life's resilient circulation

Encased in a rough nutshell of inevitable wheels of life

Resides with un-shattered purpose a simple magic miracle

A gem more powerful than the chronicle of human nature

One day she says I'll be a forest in the budding aspiration

Of hope and kindness that spread with wind and fortune

The elements will nurture me until I'm ready to stand tall

For now I must be grateful for my budding tender youth

I don't grow fast but when my roots grip fertile undergrowth

My canopy gives wings to dreams and certitude of aspirations

Love is the meaning of the fertile soil gracing my surroundings

Founded in heaven I grant my strength to future generations

Equipped with a kernel of truth and change along the lineage

Core and essence transform vile lies from the sediment of time

Sometimes you close your eyes and trample on my saplings

But I'm a survivor and take care knowing that I'm truly loved

Surely you can cut the branches and try to break my promise

Craft treasure chests or dressers from my hardened resolve

Put another log on the fire and watch me rising from hot ashes

Build turrets for your fortresses of power and castles onto sand

Sometimes I drift in raging waters unable to steer my voyage

Float in the ocean and yet when spring resumes I'm here again

Smoothed and ground in the knowledge that my acorns live

Whatever weather may embrace my nascent children's fate

I can't complain for when I hand over the torch and novelty

When I'm old and felled down to size by turbulence and storms

I can rest assured that fires and drought did not snuff my passion

And that my final passage opens opportunities from start to end

Premium Member Winter's Tears

Aching, trembling like the dewdrop as it slides, wistful, across a petal… down a tearstained cheek – our ancestor’s heart’s quake ~ quote by author

Wrinkled now, thoughts carved out - all in the past
like the graying hairs left, heaven's forecast
reminding his dreams that their time has passed
autumn leaves, falling softly in contrast
stirring winter's icy cold, all aghast
darkest shadows breaking through to holdfast
weakened by the years, heartfelt tears, harassed
changes in hues of life's sorrows, at last
death welcomes those who heaven surely asked

Premium Member A Love Like This

I wept in church; the story broke my heart.
The devastation as the news unfurled
would surely tear less grounded folks apart
when trisomy 13 shattered their world.

His hours in this life were but a blip;
in fact they only numbered forty-three.
Yet Isaac saw their home here on his trip
to join his Father in the heavenlies.

His father built his casket out of wood
and bore his little body to the grave.
Somehow in all of this, he understood
and gratitude crashed through the grief in waves.

God used this tragedy to great effect;
though brief was Isaac’s time upon this earth,
the gospel conversations led direct
to eldest son’s salvation and rebirth.

A quiet congregation fought back tears
and marveled at how faith overcame fear.
A truth that simply cannot be ignored:
a love like this comes only from the Lord.

Lifting my weary an drugged head
"Hey'
Is all that croaked
From a dried throat
As the Irish gals
From Donegal
Those medical Angels
Surely sent
By family past
Dote about
My sickening
Karmic Dragons breath
Did seek me out again
Only so many times
I be lucky
To duck an weave
Its directing
More of
A spray
On the other side
The midnight tree
Wounded Deer
Do run
Till Deaths door
It comes
Laying down
Forest floor
And welcomes
No more runs
They know
As well as I
It ain't over
Till I die
Ozymandias
It shall be
Long after
I fly away
Smiling
Knowing I won
Splitting the Atom
Isn't for thee
You" l have to be satisfied
Surely
You get to keep
Human trafficking
No one
Would suspect
A Copper Head Potato
Well
That's not entirely correct
So I
Blink
Cause mother, wife, an children
Are in danger
Best I not leak
To much
As fateful paths
Merge
Shared suffering
Isolation
