A Love Like This
I wept in church; the story broke my heart. The devastation as the news unfurled would surely tear less grounded folks apart when trisomy 13 shattered their world. His hours in this life were but a blip; in fact they only numbered forty-three. Yet Isaac saw their home here on his trip to join his Father in the heavenlies. His father built his casket out of wood and bore his little body to the grave. Somehow in all of this, he understood and gratitude crashed through the grief in waves. God used this tragedy to great effect; though brief was Isaac’s time upon this earth, the gospel conversations led direct to eldest son’s salvation and rebirth. A quiet congregation fought back tears and marveled at how faith overcame fear. A truth that simply cannot be ignored: a love like this comes only from the Lord.
