Chasing the Dream

Chasing The American Dream Part1

The wonders of social media and its different applications ...
They allow everyone to make reconnections and link up broken communications...

Recently through the ever pervasive hphone What's app application...
Chanced upon a long lost childhood acquaintance while in primary education..

Going back 50 years or thereabouts, we were school kids so care free...
School was something we had to do going by our respective parents' decree...

Classmates were aplenty when we were that little and so carefree...
Being that many, some were invariably great company and others were on the periphery...

Now that this generation of us are all pushing 60, greying and decidedly growing old...
Facebook and What's app are some social media aids we indulge among friends so old...

Little wonder we are like scattered oats, prospering all over the globe...
Many of us are already dotting GrandParents and savoring our golden years...

A few adventurous souls have conquered distances, seas and the oceans...
They are no longer residing here in Bolehland, the motherland where they were born....

These adventurous ones are now Australians, Singaporeans and one is even in Kiwiland...
And of course, a few are living the American Dream, lapping it up in the Land of the Free...

Now, at the present moment in history, Bolehland here is far from rosy...
Our currency, thankfully it is stabilised temporarily, has fallen considerably...

The political situation is a tumultuous one with frequent spats of public bickering...
The ruling party appears less than satisfactory and perceived to be corrupted and less than worthy...

The common people, the rakyat, are understandably far from happy....
From the onslaught of removed subsidies, new taxes and heightened cost of living ...

So things are far from rosy here in Bolehland, very much unlike the fabled American Dream...
Where freedom reigns to provide golden opportunities of revelling in the American Dream...

So here's the glaring difference, Bolehland here is sliding down a slippery slope of economics...
While far beyond the horizon, the Trump administration is working towards making America Great Again...

What a difference...

When I Was In Heaven

King James Bible. New Testament. Revelation 6:1

"Now I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seals; and I heard one of the four living
creatures saying with a voice like thunder, 'Come and see.'"

I awoke to the sound of thunder crashing in my head. There is a faint mumbling
in the background of a violent rumbling. A whisper, now growing louder as the sound
embedded in my head is traveling deeper and deeper into my body. The sound
vibrating through my bones and radiating out of my body, such that I levitate and
ascend through the ceiling into the clouds above. I hear the voice and it's becoming
clearer to understand "Come... " the whisper was soft and gave me a chill that crept
down my spine. Passing through a cloud I was now in a marble stone hall that
stretched as long as Heaven it seems. Before me stands a golden alter "... See." the
voice bouncing in my head like thunder; a flash of light and twelve chairs appear
floating on each side of the golden alter. As fast as they appeared, they vanish in a
cloak of light. In the distance of heaven I hear the screeching screams of a Lamb being
slaughtered... then again the twenty four chairs appeared with four creatures standing
without shadows. Like a flash of lighting the images come and go. A Silence falls upon
Heaven while an eerie presence lingers along with the music of faint chords being
plucked. The music and the suspense subsidies; the voice, this time coming from the
creatures "Come..." I am content to obey. I walked towards to the creatures; they all
are winged hybrid animals covered in eyes. Some eyes looked frantic as if they where
screaming out in pain; Some where crying, others looked right at me never relaxing
their stare. " Come and See." and in his eyes I'd seen the fall of man, the end of all
days, there was a dimming light after flames enveloped the earth... I then was awake
lying on me bed, this is too vivid to have been a dream. Did I make it all up or was I in
Heaven as it seems?

Premium Member The Tariff Song

Our president says, “Bring the factories back,
Rebuild the mills, get us on track.”
He looks at the rust belt, sees sorrow and tears,
Whole towns undone by decline through the years.

I have a bike made by Trek
They can't make it here, said an exec
He explained that nobody here makes any part
A whole bike ecosystem needed to restart.

So Trump raised tariffs, a hammering blow,
But allies responded with a resounding "no."
In Germany, most consumers are taking action
In France, "Boycott USA" has gotten traction.

Down under, Aussies can now buy U.S. beef
But buyers won't buy them, the hopes were brief.
Japs and Filipinos see Trump as a bully
It's our exporters that feel the pain fully.

In Denmark, Euro products are marked with a star
It helps consumers know which products to bar.
Chinese, Irish, British, you name it
Refuse to buy our stuff, cannot tame it.

Canada has an app called "Maple Scan"
It identifies our brands, for the voluntary ban.
The leftist party that governs would have lost the vote
But Trump really got the average Canadian's goat.

Tariffs also drive countries to trade with China more
India is one example, They are feeling really sore
Japan and South Korea pursue a new China pact
Wasn't it predictable how they'd all react?

It didn't help that Trump floated the idea of Canada annexation
Doesn't he understand their pride in their nation?
Tariffs alone couldn't cover the cost,
Of trust broken, of friendship lost.

In most cases, I think tariffs were a mistake
We have to look why things in the U.S are costly to make.
Let's work on that, not create enemies from friends
Not all means reach desired ends.

And yes, many countries protect factories and food production
Subsidies, tariffs, they feel the same seduction.
But we're not blameless either, and we can sink our boat
by retreating into a fort, surrounded by a tariff moat.

Well Here We Are

at last he knows what
has been kicking his ass all these years
living a slow trauma smelling of empire
guardians of civilization on strike or asleep
concluding that non-conformists are all alike
but wait I am harsh this is all from memory
must have been the Kristalnacht last night
the simple concept fire is hot
does not have a subjective alternative
I tell you this with both lips
eyes watering from the smoke and prayers
in an instructive grand demonstration
of just the right amount
at just the right time
fortunately the farm subsidies
kept his garden of delight
in full Amsterdam trim
until Dr. Schnitt opened his skull
in a state sanctioned inquiry
involving all manner of pageantry
gave me a jolly good boot up the spizzerinctum
I'll tell you that right here right there
tweetering bluebirds now circle my head
the hum of life in there somewhere
most thoughts are unoriginal anyhow
you don't need a text balloon to survive
but it's a lot more contemporary
makes the aerodynamics a little smoother
my geneticist says I must be careful
several members of my family
have perished from documented cases
of spontaneous human combustion
must have fallen off the chameleon ride
but no matter they love you one day
hate your ashes the next go figure
not all internal signal input is valid
for this reason scalpels have been handed out
a National Dissection Day special
Nurse Lefty in her lightning bug suit
was just trying to get the job done
after the renunciation of befuddlement
and the realization she had fingers
that were much different from her toes
oh boy we're on another subject already
rhyming crocodile and Nile somehow
fighting fire with smoke see above
partially eaten in spite of the effort
even the effort was eaten
cough cough

Premium Member Great Commissions--Small Omissions

In all things, give thanks.

Surrounded,
overwhelmed by claustrophobic depression,
gratitude.

Gratitude, a sacred noun,
positive attitude, a secular verb phase.

Depression and gratitude,
depressed gratitude,
mystical oxymoron.
Impossibly essential
potential.

Repression and victory.
Hope in and through blind and deaf,
senseless faith in power of positions
over doubling down negative
to co-arise resonant resolutions.

Suppression yet naked clarity,
dualdark yet light-squared
and cubed
and fractal holonic,
holy,
sacred self enslavement,
mortality
despair.

Desecrated Earth
and inhumane capitalized bodies,
giving thanks
in dawn's promised dusk.

Within,
above,
below all,
giving thanks receiving thanks,
sacred acclimating gratitude,
humbling attitude.

Great commissions,
emissions,
omissions;
elevating attitudes
descending through our past.
Elevators rise to fall to rise
within great and small commissions.

Paradise fulfills embryonic love
as love grows roots in positive faith
as faith emerges out of naked hope
as hope fertilizes absence of mistrust's despair.

Desperation's absence
begins with absence of pathological denial,
returning Earth's embryonic trust
with mistrust,
light squared fertility
returning dualistic darkness.

Energy is capital,
our regenerative god
and our degenerating idolatry.

Our subsidies
grow our investments in future health
and our divestments out of past pathologies.

Information is the capital derivative of energy,
as exformation departs from embryonic negentropy.

Great commissions of gratifying robust systems
grow from small omissions of dissonant mistrust.

In all trusted and mistrusted things, give thanks.

The Die Is Cast

THE DIE IS CAST
“I See,” said a blind man to his deaf Spouse, emphatically
I hear the S-rhetoric She replied Sarcastically
The symptoms and signs of Stagnation
The Syndrome of intermittent Systems and Structures
Signing and later whining or wining
Structural adjustment and subsidies
The insatiable appetite for Sausages and Swine
Speculation and Smart Partnerships Scenarios
Synergies, Song of Science, Strategies, Solutions all Send Shivers down my Spine
Stock exchange and Streamlining just Sentimental
What with Solo driving, Sole proprietorship of Strings of businesses
As the faith of the Servicemen wavers, the Sales are reportedly Staggering
A Slump they call it but there’s Something Sinister
Swing into action to Subjugate these Saboteurs?
My Spirit faints But rejoice oh my Soul
Share the Spoil of the Wicked, Shillings and Swiss Francs or $ollars
If they call this Scathing, what is Stealing?
Smelling, a Stench!
Servant leaders, Surge forward to foil this Sunlight melancholy
For a calm Sea never made a good Swimmer
Study the Science of the Soil and the oil
When funds are Squandered
Guillotine the Small witty cashiers, the sardines
A Sacrifice of sorts, Scape goating and Summary Sentencing
“Where are the big bully Signatories, the Sharks”, a Senior Citizen asks?
Scot free, in Singapore in another Symposium
And who will Sub-due the enemy? Where are the species of valour, women of virtue?
Behold the Son of David, Save us!
Saviour, open your eyes and See, take our Prayer Seriously
With You on our Side we can Salvage the Situation and Scale walls

The Journey of My Land

I know all,
Even when I was not born;
My teacher told me more,
On the journey of my Land

First day of October,
Yes! My teacher said it's 1960;
Till then,
We were not matured to own our land.

Our nobles raised a beacon of hope,
Shinning with power of justice;
The white were choiceless,
Only to allow us to bear our name.

The kaakis came in 66,
Against the bridge connecting two sides,
Many bloods soaked the ground,
On 'I want to lead'.

'Ali must go!"
Was the raised fist of 78
As 50kobo increment of tuition fee
Came to turn the sky to earth.

Like a bolt of lightning,
79 came suddenly,
Giving power to a pacifist,
But left swiftly to martials

The ho-o-o-o-ho-o of ANTI- SAP,
Covered the world in 89;
Our income could not save us,
We were in cancer cell.

We totally accepted
We were in a sinking ship,
When our figure was manipulated in 93,
Our choice was denied

The snake came with mask figure,
At least we were given Democracy in 99;
But later,
It turned to rotten apple.

Do you remember 2012 removed subsidies?
It was selling #140,
While now is #630.

2017 encountered EndSARS,
Hence, talent were truncated,
Like a story left unfinished
Until it's off in 2020.

Although I was a boy,
When I could not identify the wrong and right;
My teacher told me,
Democracy upgraded corruption.

My country is the best country,
That's in printing new notes,
See how 2023 notes
Have circulated before June.

I know one day,
October 1st will see our pain;
Its flag will fly with joy
And the pledge will go with pride.

Poor Stewards

Cardboard box compassion,
canned love with a cadaver expiration date
Sub-contract the morgue delivery,
charge a mob fee that’s double the going vig rate
Profit from scapegoating the poor —
Brand X the Depression Era entitlement hate
Legislative death cargo transported,
collect a toll fee that’ll be triple the gouge rebate
Cubic Interstate road numbers
with a devil design ...
dark Transformer souls cast asunder
Route 66: a six-finger sign —
motorcade truck convoy plunder
Screaming eighteen wheelers
rolling over poverty pavement: cement blocks six-feet under
Shipping tax subsidies to the rich,
giving them nothing but the best of the best
Sending slashed welfare to the poor,
we receive only the worst of the crop rejects
Taste the tainted meat,
swallow the spoiled dairy
Dump down dignity deprived mouths
Gov’ment-approved dietary sewer —
rich grifter liquidity from piss poor stewards
Good Shepherd Jesus
fed the hungry poor faithful flock
with golden honey poured from the Rock
Bad Gov’ment hussy Jezebel
sour breast feed maggot milk
to bloated baby bodies that ghetto dwell
Being born Black Bottom dirt poor
in a harvest rich Egypt is so famine pyramid living dead
Federal Pharaoh money bow indoctrination says
it’s a raw propaganda feast for your malnourished head
Eat the putrid flesh,
drink the rancid dairy
Dump down dignity starved throats
Death-approved nutritional sewer —
rich excrement policies
from Capitol dunghill poor stewards

The Narcissistic Neanderthal

Like an archaic humanoid dinosaur
you plunder through life taking no prisoners,
with your philosophical knuckles dragging on the ground.
You are a dying breed born of privilege and tenacious greed,
tendering little in life other than your selfish need.
What is it you seek in life other than your very personal comfort?
You never give a sideways glance to anyone with no chance of adding to your
circumstance; narrow minded cruelty subsidies the shutdown of any
tenderness, allowing emotional banalities to supersede integrity.
Your karmic debt is too cancerous to be free -
a lover of women among inept men,
but piteous fodder for contempt among strong women.
Neanderthal, you tossed love off the tongue like spit flung and stung my cheek with
runny dung....in disgust I turn away at your insipid attempt at manhood.
So many conquests, so little time.
The pittance you gave is but a trail of unwitting shame,
littered like Gretel's bread crumbs into a wilderness of pain...
How sad you thought such a pittance could buy my soul.
I am no longer a member of your colonial servitude,
and you are an inept fossil long past its prime.
                 From this moment, Narcissistic Neanderthal,

I am free.
