April 9 Faith in God Bible Meditations Based on 2Samuel 16-18
Key Verse – 2Samuel 16:12 It may be that the LORD will look on mine affliction, and that the LORD will requite me good for his cursing this day.
FAITH IN GOD WHO LOOKS ON OUR AFFLICTION
God looks on our affliction by His graciousness
While He takes away our pride and haughtiness
As well as our grievous selfishness
By faith’s increasing submissiveness.
God looks on our affliction by His authority
While He checks our motive and priority
As well as our earnest sincerity
By faith’s magnifying truth-certainty.
God looks on our affliction by His light
While He conquers our cowardice and fright
As well as our failures’ blight
By faith’s cheering might to do what’s right.
God looks on our affliction by His ready aid
While He subdues our distress and pain of being dismayed
As well as our frustration to answers that are delayed
By faith’s growing trust to His love that does not fade.
God looks on our affliction by His counsel through His Word
While He smites our doubt and confusion-discord
As well as our unbelief due to fake news’ record
By faith’s clinging to the Spirit’s sword.
God looks on our affliction by His wisdom
While He corrects our vanity and boredom
As well as our slothfulness to work for His kingdom
By faith’s driving spirituality along divine freedom.
God looks on our affliction by His love constantly
While He teaches our heart and mind with His precepts daily
As well as our character for servanthood willingly

a brood lumbers in the fold of an oak - slumbering
while mary go round and round - catching the affections of her father
under my bed - blooms are enchanted to leave
and a hidden mole peaks from pink lace like a blackeye susan emerging from a field of golden hairs on the hills and valleys below your waste - dew
passion and tenderness, a peter and cupid caress - springs forth bunnies and children
there innocense - now frolics from a twinkle in their parent's eyes
like laundry hung out to dry - the warmth of spring and pastels of her petals subdues children to huddle, enfolded in her downy comforter

God empowers us to do His will as we thank Him for His gift
Such assures us our eternal salvation of soul’s uplift
Verily great against hell’s penalty-rift
Toward faith’s work along heavenly lift.
God empowers us to do His will as we delight in His joy
Such subdues our problems, fears and guilt that annoy
Verily glad along prayer and supplication’s convoy
Toward faith’s performance for His labour we can employ.
God empowers us to do His will as we obey His instruction
Such helps us for our miraculous transformation
Verily ready along our revival and rejuvenation
Toward faith’s action along His direction.
God empowers us to do His will as we trust His promises
Such aid us claim His forgiveness that cleanses
Verily steadfast throughout all ages
Toward faith’s courage against doubt-surges.
God empowers us to do His will as we listen to His counsel
Such guides us in learning along life’s challenging hassle
Verily wise to teach us vanquish vain worldliness-bustle
Toward faith’s endurance in building divine testimony-castle.
God empowers us to do His will as we wait for His coming
Such drives us for faithful service and Gospel-proclaiming
Verily true to check us against selfishness and others’ blaming
Toward faith’s excitement around blest fellowship that is heart-warming.
God empowers us to do His will as we praise Him for His Scriptures
Such teach us to manifest compassionate gestures
Verily holy in every angle against haughty postures
Toward’s faith victory in serving Him midst His wondrous ventures.

There is fullness in emptiness from self
While cravings of ego are negated
Freeing us against our boastfulness-shelf
Since bliss makes drenched heart remain elated.
With victory* for reaching-out terrain
Fullness is gained as emptiness from pride
Subdues despair of futility-pain
Caused by covetousness that does deride.
Keeping spirit toward gratitude light
Midst sharing, giving, caring, loving-glow
Fullness blooms in emptiness from greed’s blight
For God grants joy along helpfulness-flow.
Let us continue in our kindness’ spree
Blest emptiness yields good-works’ fullness glee.
*1 Corinthians 15:57 But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Who is this Jesus? He is perfection.
He is the Key, yet He's also the Door,
ask to gain access; enter and explore.
Reflect on His names; find their connection.
How can He be both Beginning and End?
He's Lawgiver, Faithful Witness, and Judge;
also an Advocate who will not budge,
royal Sovereign, He is my loyal Friend.
He's Author of Life as well as the Word;
He's Cornerstone, Capstone and Solid Rock.
His still small Voice calmly commands His flock;
Can the Lamb of God be our Good Shepherd?
Root of David yet Seed of Abraham.
The Sacrifice who wears the High Priest's shoes,
Servant who submits; Master who subdues,
a Righteous Branch, He is the Great I Am.
He's both Gift and Giver of Salvation,
He is the Son of Man and Son of God,
divinely human without fake façade.
He is Builder, and our Firm Foundation.

When I groan in my sin-inflicted pain
Languishing in misery brought by disobedience-stain
Sorrowing midst fleshly triumph so void and vain…
God offers to me His grace I’m unworthy to gain
...putting my life into His peace-quarantining domain!
When I cry for divine aid and support
Excruciating from my downfall’s discomfort
Wailing due to my worldliness and its guilt-haunting escort …
God pours His mercy for my ultimate resort
...leading my faith toward His peace-upholding fort!
When I need urgent care
Beseeching for an assured welfare
Ailing with discontentment’s scare…
God presents His promises which His words declare
...exposing my soul to His peace-enlightening stare!
When I sigh anxiously
Murmuring against unfairness bitterly
Questioning my situation regretfully…
God subdues my doubts by His concern lovingly
...lifting my heart by His peace-driving might earnestly!
When I struggle against frustration
Succumbing to iniquities’ oppression
Leaning toward welcoming desperation…
God reaches out to me with His restoration
...bringing my efforts to His peace-working sanctification!
When I complain in difficulty
Mourning over my unexpected calamity
Grieving because of pride-bruised infirmity…
God corrects me to submit to Him with humility
...breaking my will against His peace-strengthening authority!
When I immerse in failure’s business
Wallowing in the futility of slothfulness
Afflicted with illness of fruitlessness…
God awakens me thru His compassion’s gentleness
...pushing my service to His peace-empowering bountifulness!

HEART THAT PRAYS UNTO THE LORD
Our heart prays unto the Lord Who reproves our bad motives
As well as our doubtfulness due to humanistic perspectives---
He disciplines us from craving for worldly incentives
By His principles’ directives.
Our heart prays unto the Lord Who rebukes our hypocritical secrecy
As well as our discontentment when we feel insufficiency---
He straightens us up for our supplication-fervency
By His mercy’s persistency.
Our heart prays unto the Lord Who restrains our earthly desires
As well as our carnal yearnings for temporal wealth that soon expires---
He guards us so as not to plunge into lustfulness’ mires
By His revival fires.
Our heart prays unto the Lord Who smites our offensive indolence
As well as our disobedient silence---
He awakens us from fruitlessness’ opulence
By His working’s prevalence.
Our heart prays unto the Lord Who negates our opposing disposition
As well as our wrong direction---
He leads us toward Scriptural action
By His sanctification’s transformation.
Our heart prays unto the Lord Who subdues our shameful haughtiness
As well as our arrogant selfishness---
He builds us up for faith-strengthened service-effectiveness
By His perfection’s holiness.

MY GOD, THANK YOU FOR CHASTENING ME
Thank You for chastening me of my sins
With Your holiness that divinely wins…
Here am I repenting from wickedness midst worldliness dins
And seeking Your forgiveness from Your mercy-bins.
Thank You for chastening me of my transgressions
With Your grace that girds against abominations…
Here am I acknowledging my perversions
And clinging to Your pardon’s provisions.
Thank You for chastening me of my selfishness
With Your goodness that corrects self-exalting humbleness…
Here am I forsaking self-righteousness
And hiding in Your love that rebukes enviousness.
Thank You for chastening me of my arrogance
With Your meekness that subdues pride’s endurance…
Here am I surrendering my vain craving for earthly extravagance
And abiding in Your satisfaction of heavenly assurance.
Thank You for chastening me of my iniquities
With Your discipline that straightens lives despite filthiness-caused infirmities…
Here am I submitting my doubts and uncertainties
And trusting Your promises of perfection-securities.
Thank You for chastening me of my disobedience
With Your help that transforms from rebellion-insurgence…
Here am I turning to You from my useless expedience

Never impossible along my Saviour’s invitation-pleasure
He bids me to come freely by the faith He does require
Granting my soul sweet respite in His tranquility’s enclosure.
Blessed wondrously to be assured by His calmness-safety
Enabled am I to linger longer in communion partnership
Plunged in His love that subdues every trace of anxiety
My heart thanks the Lord for His gracious friendship.

The Sovereign Creator is pleased with helpful modern inventions
Making mankind benefit from telecommunications so well
But for sure, He feels bad when in their vexing malfunctions
Email users in their exasperation feel their brain-nerves swell!
The Perfect Designer commends responsible computer experts
For their good contributions, indeed numerous
Yet He admonishes those geniuses to be accountable in giving alerts
Warning people about internet-driven virus!
Thus, I seek God for His wisdom
When confused with social media's bewildering entanglements
I’m sad though for those who abuse information-freedom
As they deny and neglect consequences of their engagements!
Likewise, I avoid being deceitfully puzzled
By varied scams’ alluring appeal and financially enticing
Thru global “get-rich-quick” transactions for netizens to be wealth-dazzled
Using fake identities; yet others’ privacy --- compromising and exposing!
I do trust* God to prevail over “hacking” ventures
Of ill intentions, never amusing, to wreck information sites
Such are shocking inhumane gestures
Dominated by selfishness-blights and greediness' heights!
Hence, I rely in God with faith Who knows what’s best
For my communication partnerships despite websites' criticism-attacks…
To the Lord do I yield my questions for His great answers to the fullest
Since His omniscience subdues my doubts with His truth’s packs!
*Psalm 118:8 It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man.
