Premium Member The Underground Wall--- a Simon and Garfunkel Tribute

I wrote a poem on the underground wall
for Emily, whenever I may find her.
Her lips are bouncy like a red rubber ball;
you can tell the world so they'll remind her.

For Emily, whenever I may find her,
Punky's dilemma has now come to an end.
I'm Richard Cory and let me remind her;
he was my brother, and I was his dear friend.

Punky's dilemma has now come to an end.
The French Twist on Bleecker Street is fighting mad.
He was my brother, and I was his dear friend.
I'll hide somewhere they can't find me, writing pad.

The French twist On Bleecker Street is fighting mad.
Her lips are bouncy like a red rubber ball.
I'll hide somewhere they can't find me, writing pad.
I wrote a poem on the underground wall.

Song Titles

the entry below is compiled with love song titles
it is an exercise to create an entry using just titles
I hope you can recognize them
thank you extraordinary song writers who create such work

may this day find you all well
thank you Victor Buhagiar for the inspiration this morning
I wrote this fast Victor so I don't know how it appears
I'm a little rusty with little concentration

"love songs"

the first time ever I saw your face
in case you didn't know
is unforgettable

at last
love is all around

a moment like this
something sprinkles
evergreen

ever lasting love
is in your eyes

till there was you
more than words
the power of love
brings me close to you

I can't help falling in love with you
may we never close our eyes

amazed
beyond the sea
blessed am I

god only knows
everything has changed

always and forever
turn around look at me
I"m here with open arms

Premium Member Norah's Song

I turned your picture to the wall
 Saying I wouldn't need you
It makes no difference to me now
You've ruined me, I took the fall

Saying I wouldn't need you
Was just my way to say goodbye
You've ruined me, I took the fall
Don't know why I cannot cry

Was just my way to say goodbye
It makes no difference to me now
Don't know why I cannot cry
Wish I could move on, somehow

It makes no difference to me now
It's not too late to carry on
Wish I could move on, somehow
If I could, I'd shoot the moon

It's not too late to carry on
Out on the road, I'm homeward bound
If I could, I'd shoot the moon
It's a long way home and long time gone

Out on the road, I'm homeward bound
I don't wanna hear another sound
It's a long way home and a long time gone
In the end, I'm a lone star gal

I don't wanna hear another sound
It makes no difference to me now
In the end, I'm a lone star gal
I've turned your picture to the wall

Premium Member Feel the Love Tonight

She whispers, “Can you feel the love tonight?”
“Yes, we all fall in love sometimes”, I said.
“It looks like someone saved my life tonight,
Don’t let the sun go down on me” I pled.

“Yes, we all fall in love sometimes”, I said.
“My lady, what’s tomorrow? Are we friends?
Don’t let the sun go down on me”, I pled.
Who knew that harmony so quickly ends.

“My lady, what’s tomorrow? Are we friends?
Alas, this tiny dancer danced away.
Who knew that harmony so quickly ends?
My candle in the wind went cold that day.

Alas, this tiny dancer danced away.
Now skyline pigeon’s a high flying bird.
My candle in the wind went cold that day
For sorry seems to be the hardest word.

Now skyline pigeon’s a high flying bird,
“I think I'm going to kill myself”, I cry.
For sorry seems to be the hardest word -
My little Jeannie’s with some other guy

“I think I'm going to kill myself”, I cry,
Her blue eyes were the hardest thing to lose.
My little Jeannie’s with some other guy,
So I guess that’s why they call it the blues.

Her blue eyes were the hardest thing to lose
Sing me them blues, ‘cos sad songs say so much.
So I guess that’s why they call it the blues -
I miss her love song and I miss her touch.

Sing me them blues, ‘cos sad songs say so much
Some circle of life mysteries bestowed
I miss her love song and I miss her touch
She hears me sigh, “Goodbye, yellow brick road”

Some circle of life mysteries bestowed -
It looks like someone saved my life tonight:
She hears me sigh, “Goodbye, yellow brick road”
She whispers, “Can you feel the love tonight?”

Premium Member The Best Part Of Me

(The words in quotes are Ed Sheeran song titles.)

"Remember the name" you loved to repeat?
"Kiss me" again on Piccadilly Street.

Smell the "supermarket flowers---" lilies, roses, and such.
"Take me back to London," where our "shirtsleeves" would touch.

Two "hands of gold" framed with silk sunshine,
clinking together our glasses of wine...

"The hills of Aberfeldy" were never so green
with "a perfect duet" of "the joker and the queen."

Now, from our "castle on the hill," you aim each dart.
Could you find a kinder "way to break my heart?"

"I see fire" raging in every half-truth.
Is "this" the end of us, or just "the end of youth?"

"All of the stars" and "1000 nights"
were witness to some incredible sights...

"One" "perfect" "photograph" beside Big Ben...
Now a picture torn, in need of a mend.

Our still life moments have seen "happier" days.
I can't "stop the rain" of "salt water" haze.

"Shivers" surround me like the windy, grey sky.
"Sycamore" leaves flap fast but never fly.

Your coat, your lips, the blame---"put it all on me"
in public view like "overpass graffiti."

"Bad habits" lead to a thousand "first time(s),"
"a beautiful game," and a thousand new rhymes.

I see the "shape of you" in each "dusty" leaf.
My eyes search the ground, drowning with grief.

"Life goes on" without a yawn or a dream.
The "spark" of my heart is in your "bloodstream."

"Don't" "cross me" out of snapshots, in hopes to forget.
The "best part of me" will change all regret.

Premium Member With Poppy Red I Paint It Black

Feeling rife with satisfaction, I paint it black,
hours, minutes, seconds, let it bleed as tears go by.
Time waits for no one, she’s so cold - no looking back;
wild horses in my veins and I’m a fool to cry.

Hours, minutes, seconds, let it bleed. As tears go by,
can’t you hear me knocking, Heaven? gimmee shelter..!
Wild horses in my veins and I’m a fool to cry ~
sweet brown sugar is waiting for me to melt her!

Can’t you hear me knocking? Heaven, gimme shelter,
sympathy. For the devil shattered paradise;
sweet brown sugar is waiting for me to melt her.
Life, a beast of burden - shooting my tumbling dice.

Sympathy for the devil shattered paradise.
Waiting on a friend; sister morphine. I’ll miss you
life. A beast of burden shooting my tumbling dice,
it’s all over now, give the damn devil his due.

Waiting on a friend. Sister morphine, I’ll miss you.
Time, waits for no one... she’s so cold, no looking back.
It’s all over now. Give the damn devil his due
feeling rife with satisfaction... I paint it black.

Premium Member Someone Like You

I'll find a remedy for my broken heart.
A round of applause, you've melt my heart to stone.
I couldn't make you feel my love, from the start.
I'll find someone like you, I'll search for a clone.

A round of applause, you've melt my heart to stone.
All I ask is don't come back with a hello.
I'll find someone like you, I'll search for a clone.
I'll keep chasing pavements to find that rainbow.

All I ask is don't come back with a hello.
One last goodbye to your sweetest devotion.
I'll keep chasing pavements to find that rainbow,
Set fire to the rain and show no emotion.

One last goodbye to your sweetest devotion.
No turning tables, stop rolling in the deep.
Set fire to the rain and show no emotion,
its water under the bridge, I shall not weep.

No turning tables, stop rolling in the deep.
Rumour has it, there's a new name on your tongue.
Its water under the bridge, I shall not weep.
Forget broken promises, from when we were young.

Rumour has it, there's a new name on your tongue.
I couldn't make you feel my love, from the start.
Forget broken promises, from when we were young.
I'll find a remedy for my broken heart.

Premium Member - This Is Your Song My Brother -

Daniel my brother this is your song
If there is a God in heaven, not fake or fantasy
He knows you have a good heart
I cry at night, you will understand my pain

If there is a God in heaven, not fake or fantasy
Please dear brother say everything is fine
I cry at night, you will understand my pain
Sorry seems to be the hardest word in the world

Please dear brother say everything is fine
To forgive, I never got to say goodbye
Sorry seems to be the hardest word in the world
All is gone, this is a goodbye yellow brick road

To forgive, I never got to say goodbye
If I could fly in harmony with thin paper wings
All is gone, this is a goodbye yellow brick road
Now I am alone and lost in the empty sky

If I could fly in harmony with thin paper wings
He knows you have a good heart
Now I am alone and lost in the empty sky
Daniel my brother this is your song

Premium Member The 59th Street Bridge Over Troubled Waters

On 59th Street, there's a bridge I know
where people, feeling groovy, go to walk.
The sounds of silence: troubled waters flow -
A homeless man cries out, "I am a rock!"
Late in the evening, me and Julio
down by the schoolyard shoot some hoops and shred
as falls a hazy shade of winter snow.
"Who loves me like a rock?" I turn my head
and kiss her cheek. Like bookends, old friends chat
the dangling conversation. She replies,
"I'm Mrs Robinson now, and that's that!"
The only living boy in New York sighs;
Cecilia whispers, "Bye bye, love" with tears.
Guess I'm still crazy after all these years.
