To have a girl like you Our love is my miracle

Inspired by a love story.
A new love song.

To have a girl like you
(Our love is my miracle)
By Michelle Morris
09/01/2026

For years, I was alone
Isolated amongst the crowd
Screaming fans, players in the band
Walking through it all in a hazy cloud

Who was I to know
Who was I to care
Who was I to dream
Who was I to dare

And yet it happened for us
We blew up and became famous
Still, the only girl I'd ever loved
Cheated on me, my heart left aching

And so it goes, and so it goes
Who was I to know
And so it flows, and so it flows
Who was I to hope

To have a girl like you
Come along in this lifetime
To unbreak my heart
You were my sunshine

To have a girl like you
See me for who I really am
To have a girl like you
Make me feel like I can

Becoming famous
Is not always the greatest thing
You're surrounded by fake people
All wanting you to be king

To own the throne
But not the crown, for sure
They'll keep on taking from you
Always wanting more

So when you meet someone
And you really click
You see the soul inside
It makes your world seem to fit

So, when you meet someone
And they truly care (for you, you, you)
You know that being with them
Is what you have to do (oh, yeah)

To have a girl like you
Come along in this lifetime
To unbreak my heart
You were my sunshine

To have a girl like you
See me for who I really am
To have a girl like you
Make me feel like I can

Who was I to know
Who was I to care
Who was I to dream
Who was I to dare

But with you here
It all comes full circle
My heart is healed
Our love is my miracle

To have a girl like you
Come along in this lifetime
To unbreak my heart
You were my sunshine

To have a girl like you
See me for who I really am
To have a girl like you
Make me feel like I can

To have a girl like you
Come along in this lifetime
To unbreak my heart
You were my sunshine

To have a girl like you
See me for who I really am
To have a girl like you
Make me feel like I can

Knock Me On My Knees

knock me to my knees
don't let me get back up
knock me to my knees, baby, don't let me get back up
run your fingers through my hair, sugar, and treat me like your little pup

knock me to my knees
soften my landing when i fall down
knock me to my knees, honey, soften my landing when i fall down
rub me down with your warm hands, darlin', and make me feel like the best man around

you can have your way
you can put on display
i'm your toy so go on and play
i'll be your playtoy all day....baybay

knock me on my knees
love to the depths of gravity
knock me on my knees, sweet love, love me to the depths of gravity
i am your all-the-time love, pretty lady, your way you can always have with me

Best Friend and Wife Come a Little Closer

Indie song. Inspired by friends from school - a love story from a long time ago. Beautiful.

Best friend and wife
(Come a little closer)
By Michelle Morris
02/06/2023

We met when we were young
Schoolyard fantasy of love and hugs
You became my special friend
And you were my boyfriend in the end

No matter what, you stuck it out
All my issues, all my doubts
You loved me for me, pure and simple
Forever and always, blessed as one

Come a little closer
There's no doubt about it
Feel it in our souls now
Light up everything

You were always there
The best thing in my life
Come a little closer
I'll be your best friend and wife

Together we've built a life
Had a family and friends
A loving home and partnership
We've worked hard to make it blend

No matter what, we stuck it out
All our challenges, all our doubts
We've lived and loved, pure and simple
Forever and always, blessed beyond words

Come a little closer
There's no doubt about it
Feel it in our souls now
Light up everything

You were always there
The best thing in my life
Come a little closer
I'll be your best friend and wife

Come a little closer
Be my everything
My one true love forever
Soulmates and best friends

You loved me more than life
You were always by my side
Come a little closer
I'll be your best friend and wife

Forever, forever, forever...
I'll be your best friend and wife
Come a little closer, baby
I'll be your best friend and wife

Best friend and wife...
Best friend and wife...

Premium Member Sweet Carolyn

Corresponding to the song "Sweet Caroline" by Neil Diamond

When it began,
All those years way back when
All the poets like me, who knew you well
You, touched our hearts
And our hearts felt your warmth
Who'd of believed you'd come along

Hearts, touching hearts, reaching out
Touching us, touching you

Sweet Carolyn, our times never seemed so sad

I've been inclined, to believe it never could, But now I
Think of you gone
Although we're saddened
We can only smile, thinking of you
Although we hurt, and hurting may last forever
We can only smile, hurting for you

Hearts, touching hearts, reaching out
Touching you, touching us

Sweet Carolyn, your presence touched us, clearly
You will be missed so dearly
Rest in peace, our sweet Carolyn

*Dedicated to the very lovely Carolyn Devonshire
May she rest in heavenly peace

Pied Piper

Pied Piper in the village square – a man
With a wooden flute and a golden plan –
Whatever are you doing here?
Did the elders panic, call you in
To purge the town of salt and sin?

Are you here to blow the bugler’s call
Enlist us for a noble cause
Or show us more of days to come?
Perhaps, at last, to save us all
From what we’re always running from?

Have you come to lead us all away
Or lead us all astray
(At least a few, if not us all)?
Have you a list of names to call
Or have you been instructed
To simply play your tune
And accept all comers unobstructed?

How will you declare success, Pied Piper man?
Based purely on arithmetic?
By the countless heads you lead away
The burglar, banker, drummer
The muggers and the toughs?
Or will one lonely soul be just enough?

               -----

I have heard the magic of your song
A siren call that strikes the soul –
Have felt the urge to heed, although
My conscience cries out “No!”
It’s simply that I wonder – no, acknowledge!
That it’s better off to lead, than to be led
(And therein lies the struggle, the conundrum
Which so many men have failed to plumb)

Oh, Pied Piper, piper man, you are charismatic
And your song, sweet and clear
Was once upon a time magnetic
But those who have once been led astray
Are twice averse to being played
And the sound of the pipe is mournful more
Than ever it was when heard before

For there’s nary a tune that you could play
That would leave us less forsaken
Than the staggering loss of our yesterdays
That your wicked charms have taken

Hope it won't be wrong

Even if loving you were deemed offence,
Then let me forever rot in a jail.
In your love’s ocean, far my heart will sail,
And there I will scale any mighty fence.

At that time, nothing again will make sense;
So long as your love remains without fail,
And you ensure that true love will prevail,
Only then will our deep amour commence.

So long as what you return is true love,
I'll brave the darkest seas and still sray strong.
My love will sing aloud your sweetest song,
Then over all things you shall rise above.

All others for your sake I will forsake;
I just hope loving you won’t turn out wrong!

Moon and moon cakes, moments of joy;
I sight calm lake, ideas and ploys;
Dream of fine stakes, dream and enjoy!

Autumn is here, autumn feels good;
Urge schemes with clouds, urge meets song sweet;
Toils vanish near, toils follow mood;
Unwind, be loud -- unwind, dare greet.
Moon shines so clear, moon strikes the woods;
New moon glows proud, new moon I meet!

Feel autumn sing, feel autumn ply;
Embrace fond moods, embrace fond rhymes;
Stillness now flings, stillness now sighs;
Touch feels so good, touch lives fond times;
In autumn's face, in festive pace;
Voices call out, vibrant and free;
Arouse child's grace, arouse and trace;
Lanterns now shout, lanterns I see!

Feast and fancy, feast and parade;
Echoes of cheer, echoes of fun;
Expound and see, expound and trade;
Love paints right here, love plays with pun;
Indulge fond feel, indulge fine play;
Note happy times, note cheery parts;
Glimpse clear appeal, glimpse warm array;
Sanguine verse rhymes, sanguine lines art.

Premium Member Story Song

If I could write a story song
          Our loves’ beginning, told in time
In beautiful, eventful words
                Perhaps a Sonnet of a rhyme

If I could write of younger days
                   Of unexpected rendezvous
Of fate’s design or destiny
             I’d write of how I first met you

There’d be no Taxis, Chances Are
        No Auld Lang Synes, no Lyin’ Eyes
There only would be tears of joy
    For having lived love’s sweet surprise

If I could write a story song
          Then every word could fill a page
For love needs only thought to live
      And thought defies all time and age

And so my story would portray
       The fortune of love’s wondrous gift
Of one remembered summer night
    Of wandered hearts, no more to drift

She wears her clothes awful tight
the boys look with pure delight
She's petite and very sweet
she's the girl you got to meet
         Sweet Thing...Kiss me

Sweet thing you talk too much
Sweet thing a little out of touch
Sweet thing making me think such and such
          Sweet thing...Kiss me

The way she walks the way she talks
The way she wiles with that smile
The way she looks got me hook
The way she moves she got the groves
          Sweet thing...Kiss me

She's nobody's fool, got her rules
She plays it cool, got you schooled
Baby baby such a tease
           Sweet thing...Please Please Please

Sweet thing you talk too much
Sweet thing a little out of touch
Sweet thing make me think such and such
            Sweet thing...Kiss me
