Sweet Carolyn
Corresponding to the song "Sweet Caroline" by Neil Diamond
When it began,
All those years way back when
All the poets like me, who knew you well
You, touched our hearts
And our hearts felt your warmth
Who'd of believed you'd come along
Hearts, touching hearts, reaching out
Touching us, touching you
Sweet Carolyn, our times never seemed so sad
I've been inclined, to believe it never could, But now I
Think of you gone
Although we're saddened
We can only smile, thinking of you
Although we hurt, and hurting may last forever
We can only smile, hurting for you
Hearts, touching hearts, reaching out
Touching you, touching us
Sweet Carolyn, your presence touched us, clearly
You will be missed so dearly
Rest in peace, our sweet Carolyn
*Dedicated to the very lovely Carolyn Devonshire
May she rest in heavenly peace
