Summer Breeze, Gentle Breeze

When the summer breeze comes along my way,
It freshens me up and makes me to sway,
Gently, I feel like dancing and swinging,
Soft, this summer breeze makes me go singing...

	Chorus:

	Summer breeze, gentle breeze,
	All my languishing flees,
	Summer breeze, gentle breeze,
Brings me joy, brings me peace.

When the summer breeze blows its cool incense,
It lightens me up and calms every sense,
Children around me feeling a tingling,
With summer comes the ice cream man jingling...

	Chorus:

	Summer breeze, gentle breeze,
	All my languishing flees,
	Summer breeze, gentle breeze,
Brings me joy, brings me peace.

Bridge:
Feel the whistling summer breeze
Rustling through the verdant leaves,
Feel the breeze gently singing
Summer's here - good news bringing...

	Chorus:

	Summer breeze, gentle breeze,
	All my languishing flees,
	Summer breeze, gentle breeze,
Brings me joy, brings me peace.

Blue mockingbird is not singing now,
Within the emerald green shrubbery,
Near blooms deep orange red and gold,
Under the sapphire of daytime skies!
The lazy clouds are puffy and white;
And there's such stillness and peace.
It appears to encompass all the world,
In its sunshine golden yellow splendor,
That highlights all the wild colors!
Blue mockingbird is mysteriously mute,
In the fragrant heat of aging summer,
Screaming its beauty loud and softly.
There is a butterfly upon the rose,
But no squirrels are madly scampering.
Come later to hear mockingbird sing,
With a beauty beyond all describing,
When honeybees start buzzing around,
And there is movement on the ground!

Summertime, summertime, summertime bop
Come why not to the summertime hop
Movin’ n’ groovin’ dancers everywhere
Wearing flowers in their hair.

Summertime, summertime, summertime bop
Boppin’ around the clock till one drops
Swingin’ and swayin’ havin’ a great time
Until midnight chimes.

For young hearts it’s a brill time
To bop away all day
Summertime’s a dreamtime
For gathering friends along the way.

Boy meets girl and girl meets boy
As billowin’ breeze blows
Romance fills the air
As the summertime flows.

On your feet, to the beat, dance in the street
Give it all you have got
Rotate those hips, do the jive and the twist
Maybe try a fox trot.
For that’s summertime
Yes that’s summertime
That’s the summertime bop.

Summer days are coming
To take you in my arms
In summer nights, we shall be
Singing our love songs.

When the Moonlight would rise
The sleeping waves of Sea
And your sweet arms would be
Encircling me close to thee.

Summer days are coming
To take you in my arms
In Summer nights, we shall be
Singing our love songs.

I know why you watch
The Sea waves rising to kiss
When the Moon began to pour
Its love drops on the Sea.

Watching the joy of Sea waves
You always come in mood
And then like the rainy clouds
You shower your love on me.

Summer days are coming
To take you in my arms
In summer nights, we shall be
Singing our love songs.

O’ Darling I am waiting
For the Summer days to come
As in summer days you shower
Your rain like love on me.

Summer days are coming
To take you in my arms
In summer nights, we would be
Singing our love songs.

In the chartreuse lawn,
the music of rustling leaves I hear,
singing the song ‘summer is gone’,
I listen the footsteps of autumn clear.

The screen of summer dust drifts away,
satin sky radiates aquamarine allure.
The cloud clumps turn white from grey,
sail shapeless across the serene azure.

Lemon leaves absorb autumn colors fast,
painted tangerine and saffron before they fall.
The cadence of color on them won’t last,
it would disappear at winter’s call.

Amethyst grass on lavender meadow
wears pearly crown of radiant dew.
In crimson splay of watermelon sun they glow,
as the horizon hoists a dainty day new.

As the sky soaks the lilac sunset splinters,
the shimmer of coral twilight I feel flow.
I hold it for my days of dismal winter
to get the warmth of autumn afterglow.

I used the song parts in this poem:

I never dreamed you'd leave in summer.
I thought you would go, then come back home.
I thought the cold would leave by summer,
but my quiet nights will be spent alone.
~ I Never Dreamed You’d Leave in Summer, *Written by Stevie Wonder and Syreeta Wright*

As I walk along,
 I wonder
what went wrong
with our love
~ Runaway *Written by Del Shannon and Max Crook*

'Cause I've done everything I know
to try and change your mind,
and I think I'm gonna miss you
for a long, long time.
~Long, Long Time *Written by Gary Wright, Sung by Linda Ronstadt*

My poem, Summer Runaway, follows:

I never dreamed you'd leave in summer.
I thought you would go, then come back home.
I thought the cold would leave by summer,
but my quiet nights will be spent alone.
I’ve never felt so lost and confused.
I’m no longer warmed by the summer breeze.
This time, my heart is broken, not just bruised.
We used to stroll ‘neith these willow trees.

As I walk along,
 I wonder
what went wrong
with our love,
a love that was so strong.
Could be, I can’t see
that somehow
we’re not meant to be,
or someone,
and you must be free.

So, go along, your own way
now that you’ve left my side.
I hope you find happiness.
There’s nothing I haven’t tried,
'cause I've done everything I know
to try and change your mind,
and I think I'm gonna miss you
for a long, long time.

Summer Hit Parade

Here comes summer -
In the good old summertime –
In those lazy, hazy, crazy days -
A summer breeze blows through my mind –
The scent of jasmine – summer mood
On summer nights –
“Oh – oh - oh!”
Slammin” the screen door
When elephants play on the lawn
“Doot, doot, doot – out my back door”
No summertime blues –
Hot and gritty –
When summer comes to the city
Staying cool up on the roof
On the blue lagoon – in the boondocks –
Fishin’ in the dark – crusin’ on warm summer nights -
Or on the boardwalk,
Like Ipanema,
“Down by the sea”
Girls in itsy bitsy teeny polkadot bikinis
For boys of summer
Surfer girls – beach boys driving woodies –
Summer girls - surf and sand – barefoot blue jean night –
Surfin’ in the USA –
Love letters in the sand – barefootin’ -
Suntan cream – building sand castles for
A summer place –
Warm summer mood -
Drinking slowly the summer wine
“Wella, wella, wella, wella!”
Living’s easy on the summer side of life –
“Tell me more! Tell me more!”
Hot fun in the summer sun
“Sum – sum – sum –sum – sum- sum - summertime”
Cooled by the summer wind –
“Sing along with us –de-de-de-de-de-de!”
“Come and sing with me! Da-da-da-da-da-da!”
And when the summer rain beats upon my windowpane
I’ll remember you
All summer long – the long, hot, summer -
Even as I see you in September
Suddenly last summer a summer song –
Summer love - my sweetheart of summer.
All summer long makes me feel fine! Summertime! “Whoa–oh –oh!” “Do-wah!”

Premium Member A Summer Tune

Reminded of a summer tune
I heard one summer’s day in June
so long ago when life was raw
and fresh eyes saw the things I saw

I sat and pondered life and time
and echoes of a life sublime
I played that tune and journeyed back
and listened to my own soundtrack

The song evoked a sun filled sky
as all the clouds had waved goodbye
the sand was hot, my feet on fire
an ice cold beer was my desire

A Juke Box lured with satin sounds
so I began to make my rounds
I crossed the boardwalk, ushered in
and let that velvet night begin

The ocean’s memories still hold
a wealth of stories yet untold
but to this day, that song I hear
recalls the sand and sun and beer
