Blue mockingbird is not singing now, Within the emerald green shrubbery, Near blooms deep orange red and gold, Under the sapphire of daytime skies! The lazy clouds are puffy and white; And there's such stillness and peace. It appears to encompass all the world, In its sunshine golden yellow splendor, That highlights all the wild colors! Blue mockingbird is mysteriously mute, In the fragrant heat of aging summer, Screaming its beauty loud and softly. There is a butterfly upon the rose, But no squirrels are madly scampering. Come later to hear mockingbird sing, With a beauty beyond all describing, When honeybees start buzzing around, And there is movement on the ground!

Hello Evelyn Buehler, I love this nature poem. A mocking bird is the colour Blue! I have never seen a mocking bird. Enjoy your day my friend.

Nature's silent lapses can be as pleasant as the sounds. :=)

There is a kind of hush when Nature is quiet. Sage words, Evelyn... Don't know if this occurred to you, but the title works two ways: First, in the way intended; second, to correct a word commonly misspelled as 'quite.' ~ Ex-English Teacher

That is 'quite' observant of you, Teacher. Thank you for the happy thoughts. ~ Well-informed Wordsmith
