One person's enjoyment is another man's bummer
we are all a product of our environment
and our early years on this marvelous sphere
it can determine our path and our perspective
on how we approach the years ahead
personally, I was brought up in a definite
all four season environment
where the coming of the next one
was looked forward to with great anticipation
in winter, the joy was building snow forts
snowball fights and skating on the ponds
spring brought thoughts of love no matter our age
great lovers in our young minds
summer was next with its joyous warmth
and carefree sunny days
the world was a beautiful place
autumn with its glorious array of color
and the fresh aromas
so to experience the four Canadian seasons
is to experience life itself in all its glory
I am forever thankful!!!
The thought of you makes my heart sing
You inspire a fire with yellow joy you bring
And I can dandelion dream do anything
Even esteem skating upon Saturns rings
If love is a timeless black hole
I’d be hopelessly consumed
Left my planet of silver soul
To space travel with you
Not knowing the sky
Is not as big as our love
Time can’t fly or divide
What universe has for us
Anything you ask of me
Will get a cranberry reply
Anything you want baby
For you set my star on fire
I find delight in the night
And safety displays in day
For a body’s last delight
Engage you in a new way
Galaxy sings a song of peace
And you mentally take me there
Words fall like candy confetti
Stars shine in your heavenly hair
We are one in spiritual bliss
There is a symphony of harmony
There is a unique mind kiss
As you teleport your love to me
I am ready to emerald explore
Wherever we may travel to
For love is a planet I adore
A pleasure to explore with you
The split level blinks
at Chestnut End under
twilight's tremble, ripping me,
the oily menhaden bait,
from the under boot
The Chestnut dwellers bold
interrogative flushes him down
then plunges-up the flotsam
village scrawler
the way you talk
to a blooming night blooming
to a blow-fish blown unsuspecting
of the scuttle, skating the wake away
The insomniacs billow from
their raged ranches, wisely,
and after supper, tumbling
the trickster tumbledowning
the scrawler, the baitster
dip-fished in his own inkwell.
Ripped and chipped
in my underbrush
I hunker down loading
the mossy mossbunkers
inside my spitball.
Kicking, winding up
tumbling down madly aiming
for the ramshackle fence,
escaping once again
in my handsome
lederhosen.
Tomorrow I may be dead!
Today I shall tell my wife and family
how much I love them.
Tomorrow there may be tears!
Today I shall wear that coat that everyone
hates...except me.
Tomorrow there may be prayers!
Today I shall go roller skating
even though I have never tried before.
Tomorrow people may gather!
Today I shall eat greasy food and drink beer.
Tomorrow goodbyes may be said!
Today I shall look at women, just a little longer.
Tomorrow I may be just a memory!
Today I will push my way to the front of the queue
and when people ask me what the hell I am doing?
I shall reply
I am living for today...
I’ve known him, his heart
Since I was just a child –
Roller skating, listening to music
Playing and dreaming, echoing
hope in the glistening whispers
teenage miracles – mysteries
lifting the spirit with winds, leaves
Snowflake wishes in tempting
Breezes, memories blending to
Relieve and breathe… intimate pieces
Gentle feelings and tender kisses
Stirring up grace and peace,
Filling the moments with inspiration
He is the first kiss, the bliss
Reaching past my insecurities
Mending the uncertainty with faith,
Pouring grace, like dewdrops –
Shimmering, glistening with praise
Into the sauna of my life,
In dreams so big they embrace
My spirit, coloring my heart vibrant
Hues of music, dancing in plain
View, erasing the darkness
With creativity and insight, beauty
Beckoning through the flames
Burning away the trembling aches
Roaring through the thunder,
Inviting my heart to wonder…
He is my finest hour, my prayer
Answered by One who knows my thoughts
Gives me the truth on a platter
Where answers are His way of saying
I’ve given you what you asked for…
Your blessing is this man who you call
Husband, friend – and with him…
You can find a way to accept the pain
A way to realize the miracle, to have faith
And to be the person who God intended
You to be – the person who breathes
Loves unconditionally!

Ted is a novice when skating on ice
Kept slipping and falling twenty times twice
Body shattered and battered
And his teeth were all scattered
Prayed the tooth fairy will give a good price
Soups and soft food is all he can now eat
But he fancied something that is more sweet
Poured treacle in a large cup
Then quickly drank it all up
Feeling sick, vowed he would never repeat
He felt very hot and started to fret
From every pore he was pouring with sweat
He went outside to cool down
Some wasps where flying around
And saw his body as a sweet object
He screamed loudly, hollered, blubbered and cried
As the wasps were all stinging him with pride
His body grossly swollen
And dignity now stolen
Wished instead gone for a horse and cart ride

A blessed
Winter Day
Dressed for the
Holidays. A pure blanched
Vision awaits me so I reflect out loud.
Satin white angel hair snow, sleeps light on our street,
enriches the raw pines in a virginal base coat of flurries.
Families dressed for the holidays, lovely, quite the treat.
There are voices singing, travel soft on a passing breeze.
My senses are ablaze on this blessed winter day.
Children's faces bright red from play rekindle memories.
Remembering crafting sculptures, the element, like clay.
Snow fights, where we'd take refuge behind shrubberies
Lights energized, dance with the dark as their partner.
Colors, tints the nights complexion in a luminesce glow.
Smoke from pillow covered roofs make my heart flutter.
My days of improvised ice rinks, skating with the flow.
A holiday surrounded night ignites passions deep.
Making snow angels, pulled on a toboggan down my avenue,
Picking a frosted pine then wrapped and thrown into our Jeep.
Heading home with that years tree to dress and decorate anew.
But it is now and time to play in this our new frosting of snow.
With my two baby girls we use it to bake as if it were dough.
Life is different now, as an adult with my children, I go slow.
Savor every moment, their youth a gift, repeats like an echo.

She was a cute little girl with orange dancing shoes.
Those dancing shoes had rhinestone eyes that could schmooze.
Her name was Willa May, and she had a bear that was purple.
He begged her to name him King Bear Krabby McMurple.
Of course she did, because she was in charge of her bed.
Which is where he sat watching Willa May paint her doll red.
At night they would cuddle up and go into a deep fun sleep.
Dream adventures took them all over the world in a big yellow jeep.
They drove to Africa, Hawaii, the Atlantic Ocean, and Timbuktu.
They saw parrots in the jungle. One of them a brilliant azure blue.
They tasted Belgium chocolates when in Europe, so delicious too!
They travelled the world over and over in their hazy nightly hue.
Mommy and Daddy sometimes went them if they decided to let them in.
They went swimming with the dolphins, and the sharks loaned them a fin.
They loved their dreamy dreamtime, they took naps each Saturday.
The rest of the time, they hung together, skating, biking, and had bubble play.
Miss Marple is a famous sleuth
She investigates and gets the truth
Murder intriguing has been committed
Just as well she's quite quick-witted.
Whom does this crime benefit most?
We can rule out our charming host
Victim was found dead in his room
Around his body flowers strewn.
Completely by accident Marple saw
Delivery of flowers at kitchen door
Where busy maid spends her day
All mundane tasks are sent her way.
She might be poor, but that blackguard
Sent flowers with invite scrawled on card!
Never expecting she would not comply
The fillet knife aided his dying sigh.
Flowers she threw in such distress
Then walked away from mortal mess
Bravely she sought Marple's advice
Who said 'she was skating on rather thin ice'.
Enigma surrounds this long closed case
The victim, no gentleman was a disgrace
Home in her cottage, thinking things through
Marple wondered what Poirot would do?
