Premium Member Going On An Expedition

I am going on an expedition I told my family sweet.
I might FaceTime, Zoom, Twitter or maybe tweet.
But I have to seek my fortune, so backpacking I will do.
I plan to go to Europe, Scotland, Ireland and maybe Timbuktu.

Can we send you with some food? My mother asked, alarmed.
It might get moldy, I replied, but with her offer I was charmed.
I finally agreed to ice cream bars which did not last the day.
I ate six of them in the bus station before I made my get-a-way.

My baby cousin tried to sneak into my knapsack, so he could go.
I told him I would videotape myself, and give him a weekly show.
I may ride an elephant in India, I will bring you a jewel doll.
I plan to stop by the shrines, especially the Taj-ma-hall.

I may stop in Florida and dance with glee
I said to my sister, and swim with a manatee
Don’t’ worry; I will send you a postcard,
Before I dance with a London guard.

Do you have time for lunch? My mother asked.
She wants me fed good and hard, it’s her ut-most task.
I can down a bit of soup, but then I have to get to Donner’s pass.
And Stonehenge and Shangri-La, before I fish some Scottish bass.

Will you be stopping in Rome? Asked my cousin Shasta.
Oh, definitely, I said, and I will see some igloos in Alaska.
Is there any continent you will not visit or be?
I hope not, I told them. And I was off toward the sea….

Jazz a Little Later

Unforgettable the feelings of such right
Astonishing pleasant evening nights
Hollow are the darkest shadows
All that really ever matters
Is that when we’re gone, so, so long
~
It won’t be long, for we’re settle
All that is better
When we leave it up to Him
If by chance I bid you a do
I’ll see you later in a vivid dream view
Upon this closing night bliss dim
I leave you a little better

Until the dawn, new days light…
Jazz you a little later

BEBOP BLUES Dedicated verse for Delores Matthews-

How do ya! Do Rebop blues
Them there, tied up shoes
Crampin’ my style rebop blues
Like a misbehaved child

While far away
Them their prey
On the innocents
Of the human frails
So sad, ain’t no way mad
Souls glad, B renewed
N them rebop blues
Angry disarrayed
Purposely arrayed
How you do, what cha’ choose

Bebop blues

So closed
Let loose
Striding lies
On the innocents
Angry disarrayed
Purposely arrayed
So sad
So mad

How do ya! Do Rebop blues
Them there, tied up shoes
Crampin’ my style rebop blues
Like a misbehaved child
Chorus:

Jazzin' N Jivin on a Saturday night, feelin' oh so right
The rhythm's swingin' sweetly, the vibe is oh so tight
Rebop blues in the air, groovin' without a care
The trumpet's wailin', the piano's sailin', in a musical affair

Midnight groove, in the city blues
Lost in the moment, no time to lose
Re, re, re, re, reRebop Blues
Ya, ya, ya, yah can’t loose
When ya choose Rebop Blues
Saxophone cryin', drums keep tryin'
In the heart of the night, the music's flyin'
The bass is walking slow, the guitar starts to flow
A symphony of soul, where the spirits all know
Rebop blues whisper softly, secrets in the air
Melodies intertwining, in a jazzy love affair

Bebop blues

Premium Member And the Rain Came

I will turn back the pages of time,
to mom and to when I was a little girl;
mom would fill my pool and in I jumped,
she called me pixie and I giggled.
Then, she turned to her garden,
     trimming black-eyed susan;
     and white shasta daisies,
                             and I helped too.
        I had my own tools,
            and I worked hard.
She gave me a small patch in the sunshine,
with bright petunias and yellow marigolds.
Mom planted coneflowers for the monarchs,
I planted columbine for the hummingbirds;
                            and yarrow for bees,
     oh, I loved the garden.
Then, mom said we need some rain,
                             so we prayed and waited;
and the beautiful rain showers came,
gently falling on all the flowers and my columbine,
petunias, yellow marigolds, and yarrow grew huge;
and some crazy creeping thyme I had planted !
      This is a treasured page
in the book of my life.
