Before the day unfolds from crumpled sorrow prior to dawning
yawning fake cumbersome fawning’s creases nocturnal tossing
turning ragged motion rigor ante mortis refuses to leave the sheets
and pleated feat of forlorn furrows of a haunted mind and soul
The tired hangman’s girth and girders glide crushingly from heaven while
moon shadows’ frizzled fragments show no mercy reflect the blinding
darkness’ solar soaring cannot quench the thirst that is no more as grimy
star dust descends in acrid shivers on the burning frosty condemnation
A pillow case draped round the neck perverts the petting pecking order
of a reckless needy comfort long past the passion of redemption’s kiss
burst bent spent and hollow the cotton duvet draped in remorseful sores
blends easily with heavy weights and suffocating nothingness of dawn
When shadows leave no reflection as mirrors of the past and present cast
no more glimpse of prism when compressed condensation remains the
only lonely companion left to soothe like grating acid wounding scabby scars
all light goes out and vanished freedom plies it’s murky clarity again
Seize then this day that comes your way:
Soul do not stray on fickle play.
Seize your sure will with intent clear:
Live what you feel as love funds cheer.
Seize thus your quest to journey far:
Love frames your best as darkness mars.
Seize the bold truth that bids your fest:
Dare act with proof of soul's pure test.
Seize clear outlook and know your heart:
Listen and hook your poignant art.
Seize sacred feel that calls to you:
Dream and live thrills in all you do.
Seize thus the prize your soul must know:
Love pays the price in light that shows.
Seize faith and hope with love and grace:
Love facts your scope as light rays trace.
Seize then and face the moment grand:
Look to pure grace to see my friend.
Seize happy cheer when gloom waves doom:
Death holds no fear for soul that blooms.
Seize here and now that placid peace:
Love does endow a vital ease.
Seize ample chimes to love each play:
Love beyond time and space each day.

(Note: "Carpe Diem" in the Latin means: Seize the day, or Seize this day. This is an invocation to "Live each day to the fullest as it will not come again." The gist of the invocation is to treasure and cherish your time on earth by being and living the best version of your self fully each day because tomorrow is not a certainty!)
Kids never let a rainy day
deter enjoying a fun time;
no matter what, they go and play
regardless of the adverse clime.
They never save a sunny day
because tomorrow it may rain;
put it aside, pack it away-
use when the weather's bad again.
For adults, rainy days do change
our thinking on what's best to save.
Life's joys we sometimes rearrange-
stack them away and think it brave.
We must not put aside today
to save in rainy days' dark bank.
Tomorrow can be whisked away
forevermore, shut down, left blank.
So live today through rain or shine,
and like a child, spend all your joy.
No need to save life's gifts, resign-
say Carpe Diem, and enjoy!

Carpe Diem: Latin, means seize the day; enjoy the
present, as opposed to placing all hope in the future.
Though years slip by through time
if you live long enough and rewind;
you get to see that history
is ever a repetitive cyclic mystery.
Refugees and immigrants raped
always seeking some escape
when faith, land, house and home
do not withstand the change and roam.
What is it about faith and land
that we take life so easily
in a self righteous stand?
The earth and sand lies troubled
drenched in hate and fear and bloody rubble
unable to grow lush in unseen lost beauty
as the seeds of change die in duty.
Man progresses and reconstructs
where earth of promise begins to self destruct
repainting it in greed and desire disabled
as Cain rises again once more against Abel.
Why does the story of brother to brother
never seem to change
and the good in humanity is smothered?
Those finally set free only in retreating
still find their fate unfound and fleeting
and in the end revealed the truth believed
and permanently lost remaining unachieved.
Slip sliding footsteps of the aftermath
trace imprints in the well trodden paths
and new found short lived peace
forever lies stolen and fleeced.
Why does the record never teach
lessons learned
to be continually un-reached?
We have been here before
resettling the same score
forever destined to repeat
living in our self conceit.
Seize the day, the changing times
stand and hold true to new paradigms
all are equal, deserving of the moment
giving hearts, trusting minds with eyes open.
We have been here before
lets learn the lesson at last
once and for all, evermore.
This existence is wonderful you have so many paths to choose
So go after what you want like you’ve got nothing to loose
Don’t waste time and let it slip away
Fight for what you want and always seize the day
Live every moment in life for what you whish and dream
Reach for the stars with no regrets because they’re closer than they seem
Search your open heart to know your hidden desire
Then take it by force and you’ll be proud while others will admire
Work as hard as you can and it will definitely pay
Choose your friends wisely and don’t let anyone get in your way
Live every moment in life for what you whish and dream
Reach for the stars with no regrets because they’re closer than they seem
Have a plan and stick to it know your objectives don’t estimate
Don’t stray from it and let your enemies change it with their own worthless debate
They are opportunities around every corner everyday is a new beginning
Conqueror all your fears and accomplish your goals and it will make life worth living
Live every moment in life for what you whish and dream
Reach for the stars with no regrets because they’re closer than they seem
Looking back to what has come and passed
taking what was to forge this moment, You Are The Sun Alas
and Blazing Beyond the perils of time
to Rise like the Phoenix from Ashes to Light,
and as the Ticking Talks and the sway drifts like the Wild Pendulum
and the memories shimmer and have come and gone,
and all that remains Whisks with the Winds Of Life
and you count your Blessings and Shine Bright,
and just as the Seasons that Come and Go
and just as every Rose has a Thorn,
we except what is and Bravely walk forth
and in this Instant, Let All Things Go
and as we look ahead, we're reminded of those who have left too soon
and live in such a way, through the Waning Moons
leaving our mark for Eternities Sake
so as the Seasons Pass, Remember to Seize The Day
for nothing is promised besides the Grave
so Live You Must, Before It's Too Late
The roaring twenties prohibition.
Left violent crime to seize the day.
An act of folly, no forward vision
Of curbing crime, and their ambition
To supply hard liquor, and disobey.
The roaring twenties prohibition.
Failed to prevent, what was tradition.
A paradox says that,'crime does pay'.
An act of folly no forward vision.
Corruption is blind no opposition.
The 'cotton clubs' were there to stay.
The roaring twenties prohibition
Was needful then for more attrition
And fighting crime, without delay
An act of folly, no forward vision.
Until the lawmen gained submission.
Who was to blame? Society will say,
The roaring twenties prohibition.
An act of folly, no forward vision
3/ 2/ 2015.
In shadows deep, where sorrows dwell,
A whispering voice, regret's cruel spell.
It haunts the heart with echoes grim,
A haunting melody, a mournful hymn.
Regret, the weight of choices past,
Leaves scars upon our souls so vast.
The road not taken, chances missed,
Aching reminders, clenched in fists.
Oh, wistful heart, burdened with pain,
Longing to rewind and start again.
For time's unyielding, relentless sway,
Leads us down paths we cannot change.
Through tear-filled nights, we seek release,
From memories that refuse to cease.
But lessons learned, they slowly seep,
From depths of darkness, we shall reap.
Let regret be a teacher, wise and keen,
Guiding us to live a life serene.
For in its grasp, we find the strength,
To shape our future, free at length.
Embrace each moment, seize the day,
Let not regret obscure the way.
For in acceptance, true peace is found,
And from the ashes, new joys abound.
quot: "The teacher who is indeed wise does not bid you to enter the house of his wisdom but rather leads you to the threshold of your mind.".. Khalil
I met him at a square dance, beneath the stars,
A square of joy where laughter filled the air.
Not long before he saw beyond my scars,
And asked me to change my path with care.
His lessons weren't just found within the class,
But in the way he taught me how to see—
No pressure placed, just guidance when I'd ask,
A teacher, yes, but more—a friend to me.
In the darkest days, he stood by my side,
A mentor, a teacher, a steadfast guide.
When pockets were empty, and hope ran thin,
His hand reached out, pulling me in.
Through trials and pain, his smile remained,
A beacon of light when all else waned.
How can I forget the strength he gave,
The reason i survived, the way i stayed brave?
With every step, he lit my way,
His kindness helping me seize the day.
In this foreign land, I owe so much,
To a heart so warm, to a soul’s gentle touch.
"Where do we poets go?”
I wish I could know
and trace a path of glory
which I admire in awe.
*****
The words I do follow
into them resides my soul flow
A journey of two lovers
of no full stops and commas.
No introduction made
the bond is intense
a connection of no pretense
oblivious of the first thread
of the weaved word.
No main body
could develop a true love story
or bring it to a closure
a sustained presence
that assures a genuine composure.
Dare I ask the poet
“Why did you in love
fall?
as the words when spilled
elevate your all!”
Or shall I wonder
if for each other’s company
you crave?
a willing surrender
a wonder about which
you rave.
In the realm of words
the poet, longs to and dares
fashions of words
shapes and shades
breaking all the rules
for the love of a poem
beyond the norms.
*****
With every work of art
a true part of the soul we impart
we seize the day
of pleasure and pain
and in life
earn the name of human.

“Where do we poets go?”
I really don’t know!
I just have my pen to fuel
walk an entrancing path of poetry
and aspire to carve a shining jewel..
