They set the standards high
expecting alot from the
guys who were selected
to represent the covent title.

beauty and magnificence
they kicked the ball around
awhile talking
often bragging
It was clear a couple
of the guys were agitated or intimidated
it was hard to tell
a level of competition was elevated
by what was asked of these men
" The Pro Wrestling Showcase"
was what the event was nicknamed
I heard one guy explain to another
why it was important for him to understand
it would ease the pain of him being
defeated
I heard them jive and giggle
everyone got quiet when they started
reading out the accomplishments of all the champions
one huy there never held any gold
he stood there
shifting from side to side
asking nervous or out of place
once he smiled while the tall guy
spoke until the tall guy snapped at him
for smiling or sporting a sill grin
they let everyone know the importance of
the prize
andus of the nostalgia that
the title represented
they told people they were
looking to expand there
audience
and were willing to offer
prizes to establish an interest
were people
and groups could prosper along side
of the host company
a jerk promoter
told one of the lesser known promoter
to stand and look cute and keep
your mouth shut
look at what real men with
money and ability can do
one guy told another guy he was putting
his families recipes for boudin and Pao Doce
and relish to make a great event even greater
he told the guy observe not allow
the simplness of greatness to make
him think he ws as great as he was.
In the Presence of Greatness
one often allow themselves to think
they are as great as who they are with
It is disgusting that 734 people died at Mecca,
Last Thursday, when so many lives were lost,
Needlessly, for want of crowd control officials,
To restrain the 1.4 million who’s emotions cost.
Religion is never an objective thing,
It's extremely emotional, out with rational thought;
And the ritual that the pilgrims were approaching,
Was, in my opinion, religion’s most irrational shot.
It was the Stoning of the Devil ritual,
Which celebrates Abraham’s obedience to god,
Who told him to kill his son and ignore all conscience,
Rather than listening to Satan, who seemed to have the nod.
This sacrificial story sickens me to my stomach,
Always did, always will, still does:
That you should reason by faith any action,
That's it's valid, whether moral, immoral, or even just a shove.
Killing your own child just for a voice in your head,
Which says he’s love’s superior, consummation,
Is insane, wrong, and really quite mentally ill,
And certainly should not be taught in admiration.
As a child it was one of my main objections,
To faith, the liturgy, the Bible and god,
Who today should be represented by elders or imams,
Who should contrive to keep within morality’s rod.
When you’re at Mecca, the epitome of your faith,
Approaching the most irrational ritual in your life,
Your emotions are bound to get the better of you,
Such that regressive behaviour will be your strife.
Iran blamed the Saudi authorities,
For having no safety mechanisms in place;
Fundamentalism should come under, like all else,
Crowd regulation laws and standards which grace.
Even the Billy Graham stadium events,
Used ushers and councellors to ensure,
That people were behaving considerately:
They were ready to attend to and direct the pure.
I would like all fundamentalism to be regulated,
Supervised by a human-centred body,
Such that god coincides with morality,
Giving seekers their lofty and loving somebody.

Abraham’s sacrifice of Isaac is in Genesis 22:1-19.

NOTE:THIS IS AN OPEN(organic) FORM VERSE using spaces&breaks without grammatical symbols ,the ' open' relies upon 'the one breath limitation' & so inherently requires the 'reader' (reciter) to input and responds thus making this enigmatic form a two way interplay & interpretatIon unique to the moment& changing according to mood is inherently variable.

"The Slip-ins"
Why should I continue to write
these feathery songs,
these blanched banjo tomes,
these wilting poésies
of a lost little life ever circling
like a memory stone thrown
across a lake of discontent
into the bottom of a dark pond
where the sulphar trolls
with their attached pilot fish
of no kingdom come spin
their spindly venomous and childish reasons
along their tongues those sticky webs like a cast net
toads reeling blue flies in
smiling at all the joy stolen
where they store the chord of me
silent and vibrationally buzzing
like a good mummy
for later feeding,
I am trapped
in the blistering better knowledge
of those angry joyless monsters
who like love-hungry creepers slip in
ripping me away, pulling me down
far away from Blue Sky

“War is an absolute failure of imagination, scientific and political. That a war can be represented as helping a people to 'feel good' about themselves, or their country, is a measure of that failure."/Adrienne Rich

Stones
piled high
twelve laid by
on Jordan’s shore.
When wand’ring youth ask why –
“What are these heavy boulders for?”
Trustworthy parents, help them to explore
the river bank and crossing where My might was shown.
Let them know why the priests marched in before
the water wall started to soar.
Tell them with just one try
the bare sea floor
was found dry.

My thoughts upon viewing Stonehenge. I remembered the passage from Joshua 4 and Joshua's command for the parents to tell their children of the meaning of the stones that were piled on the shores of the River Jordan. If someone had written down what Stonehenge represented, we would have no questions about it.
Could it be
That we will never be?
It cannot be
That we played with fire
Without playing the lyre
Could it be
That you are a liar?
Ready to jump into the pyre
My heart does bleed
And plead
For Mercy
I am Capricious
Even Luscious
In your bed
Always coloured red
Yet
You abutted
Never Pretentious
I am Anxious
Could it be
That you do not agree?
With my Faith
What would become of me
Should you let me be?
Without my Side
You will truly Hide
Your eternal Pain
In Vain.
I had really thought that you represented Love
I had really believed that you were a form of the One Above
The one for whom my heart beats
Ever since He saved me from being just an evil atheist
I realize now that I was just being fooled
Indeed, in matters pertaining to learning about myself, I needed to be schooled
See you, now I do know that mundane love would never equal divine love
Yes, now I do know that for earth and its beings, I should never ever drool!
Why, I do know that I am not a perfect being
I am made of flaws
But when I was suffering the consequences of those painful blows
I did get that which I needed most, a mystical awakening
So, see you, now I do know much more about myself
About life, about the meaning of faith
Now I do know that I shall have to cater to my duty
As well as to that which fills me with pleasure, my creative poetry
Now I do know that sometime, I shall meet with death
The opening is it, leading to the world of eternal life
The doorway which would lead me to where does be that which I want
True love, in its genuine state
Indeed, I am thankful to those painful words
They gave me everything that make of me a poet
Yes, for these were my very first odes
Though mistaken was I, on the matter as to whom they are meant!

MARKED CONFEDENTAL, THE EVELOPE WAS SEALED WITH GLUE.
WHAT WAS INSIDE WAS AGAIN IN A SMALLER EVELOPE SEAL, "BEWARE OF LEAKING INFORMATION!" WHICH WAS WRITTEN IN THE LEFT CORNER.
AGIN I OPENED AN EVELOP AND A ANOTHER WAS INSIDE THE SECOND ONE, THIS " HAD A wARNING" MESSAGE ATTACHED TO THE EVELPOE, IT WAS STAPLED TO THE CORNER, I OPENED USING THE DIRECTIONS, I TOOK FUL DIRECTIONS BY WHAT WAS WRITTEN, IT MAYHAVE ALLOWED ME ACCESS TO THE FOURTH AND FINAL EVELOPE, WHICH SAID TO OPEN FROM THE FAR CORNER, WHICH I DID, A BIG THUMB PRINT INDICATED THE FAR CORNER.
I PULLED BACK THE SEAL TO REVEAL A SECTIONAL BOOK OF DOCUMENTS,
THESE PAPERS WERE CONFEDETAL AND WARNED AGAINST OPENING ON THE LEFT SIDE AND THAT THESE FOUR ENVELOPES CONTAINED DOCUMENTS THAT WERE FOR MY EYES ONLY.
IF THE WORLD KNEW WHAT THESE PAPERS CONTAINED, WE'D ALREADY BE NEGOCATING WHO WOULD BE REPRESENTING US IN THE " dEZZO, dAY cLASH" WHERE THE BEST OF THE BEST STAND BEFORE THOSE WHO WISH TO DEFEAT AND BECOME SEEN AS BEST IN THE FEILD! " dEZZO dAIZ, ONCE WORE THE LEATHER AND GOLD, WHICH REPRESENTED THE CLASSIC TOURAMENT THAT ALLOWS THOSE WHO ARE UNRECOGNIZED TO BE PUT FIRST, AND THOSE WHO WISH TO BE SEEN AS BEST TO LOOK PAST THEIR OWN SELFISHNESS, AND BE RECOGNIZED AS "mODELIO eL mAGNIFCENT" THYE SECOND BEHIND THE CHALLENGER. OPPUTUNITY FROM VICTORY, MIGHT THE NIGHT MAKE MEN INTO CHAMPIONS! EACH CAUSE DEFINED AND EACH PURPOSE WEIGHED, "TO STAND BEFORE MEN AS MEN, AND WREST TO BE SEEN AS GODS!"
Don, my main man,
i've known you almost all of my life
you were a legend, an icon, a symbol
you represented freedom and culture
and expressed to the world what we were
besides what they thought we were
and you brought us music, that art
that we all share and the people
that made that music all number one hits
from Elton John to James Brown
if it could be called soul you brought it to us
you were'nt outragious, outspoken or scandalous
just a deep voice in a suit announcing the next song
it's been a long ride on the Soul Train. you made history
and i never ever heard of you doing one thing bad
except the last thing you did
They were Hollywood farmed; the girls, the pink and blond feathers-
shoes on their heads, but when they began to give birth to human
chickens there was a national outcry. Cops cordoned off each home
where an avian pregnancy had occurred. A comprehensive
government birth control program had fallen short;
the girls had mated, but with what?
The chicks (we called them chicks), were hairless, not bald, feathers
as thin as needles grew from their heads, but the skin was plucked
as if some evolutionary edict had demanded they be retail-ready.
The off-spring were quickly taken away for cold-storage.
Within hours each young mother had been represented by agents.
Legal teams coalesced around bewildered families. They were told
to say nothing, sign nothing, promise nothing, but they did.
The girls began to talk.
None of them could recall having strange sex. They social networked,
argued, trash talked, became best friends forever. Giggled on
‘Late Night’ talk shows. They composed lists of their favorite things. A
chorus of tweets became raucous.
The unusual births were sporadic, incidences became less, soon there
were no more reports. The media moved on. The girls struggled
to stay newsworthy, were medicated with drugs manufactured
by masked workers. Gradually they began to shop in small groups again.
Their behavior closely watched by celebrity therapists and
ornithologists.
The girls kept their shoes in designer shopping bags and on their feet.
When asked why they had once placed shoes on their head,
they would run away clucking hysterically.
Godmother fashioned the most gorgeous crown for Amaryllis’ head.
Bronze, blush, butterscotch, eggshell, mango with hints of red.
Her friend said, “blush, mauve, opal, peach, sand, and seashell.”
Amaryllis Elf noted then that these colors were represented as well.
She had never noticed the plethora of colors amaryllis could hold.
Although the fruity exotic fragrance of this plant could never get old.
Amaryllis dove into the flowers and giggled with her favorite elf king.
The next day the violets, cone flowers and lilies gave out a big sing.
And Amaryllis ended up wearing a new diamond ring.
