In Response To My First Poem

Could it be That we will never be? It cannot be That we played with fire Without playing the lyre Could it be That you are a liar? Ready to jump into the pyre My heart does bleed And plead For Mercy I am Capricious Even Luscious In your bed Always coloured red Yet You abutted Never Pretentious I am Anxious Could it be That you do not agree? With my Faith What would become of me Should you let me be? Without my Side You will truly Hide Your eternal Pain In Vain.
I had really thought that you represented Love I had really believed that you were a form of the One Above The one for whom my heart beats Ever since He saved me from being just an evil atheist I realize now that I was just being fooled Indeed, in matters pertaining to learning about myself, I needed to be schooled See you, now I do know that mundane love would never equal divine love Yes, now I do know that for earth and its beings, I should never ever drool! Why, I do know that I am not a perfect being I am made of flaws But when I was suffering the consequences of those painful blows I did get that which I needed most, a mystical awakening So, see you, now I do know much more about myself About life, about the meaning of faith Now I do know that I shall have to cater to my duty As well as to that which fills me with pleasure, my creative poetry Now I do know that sometime, I shall meet with death The opening is it, leading to the world of eternal life The doorway which would lead me to where does be that which I want True love, in its genuine state Indeed, I am thankful to those painful words They gave me everything that make of me a poet Yes, for these were my very first odes Though mistaken was I, on the matter as to whom they are meant! 29 Sept 2015
