Is it the hour yet?
before the last sun
of fall has set
to think on those here
and those
who've passed on.

I ask with bowed head
in solumn prayer
though she'd never ask it
for our temperate Ofie
whose light has left.

Wrapped in family's loving own
surely the sun will see fit
though she'd never ask it
a bright ray to show her the way
home.

Always proud of hers,
though not prideful
not one to fuss
no, not at all..
put in an honest day's work
for all of us
before..
she heard the final call.

True in heart to all she met
we commend her to rest
though she'd never ask
ray of sun and prayer blessed
our dear Ofelia left.

Premium Member Ray Charles On a Lonely Night

Ray Charles on a lonely night
Feel it mostly in his fingertips.
He play in every shade of blue.
His touch be intimate and true.

Ray Charles on a lonely night
Come to Harlem like a fool for you.
He lightly tease his baby grand,
And mess around with loving hand.

Ray Charles on a lonely night
Must have Georgia on his dirty mind.
With unchained heart he hit the road,
To end up busted a la mode.

Ray Charles on a lonely night
Had a problem singing, What’d I Say.
He made the call to ill response,
And music critics’ nonchalance.

Ray Charles on a lonely night,
One mint julep doesn’t ease the sting.
America, it sheds its grace
On those who know and keep their place.

Ray Charles on a lonely night
Play a solo act with no Raelettes.
He can’t stop loving someone when
It’s always cryin’ time again.

Ray Charles on a lonely night
Would often say, Let’s go get stoned,
And seven Spanish angels be
The birds who keep Ray company.

Ray Charles on a lonely night;
Like Johnny Cash at Folsom,
But maybe even more so.
Tell me what’d I say…

Premium Member X-Ray Vision

Somewhere out of nowhere these feelings came about
A lustful, yearning desire appeared without a doubt
This time it was me, which made it oh so strange
To adjust the way I was feeling, something had to change

The vision of his body, his kiss, his touch
Is thought about more than often, like wayyy too much
The feelings tend to linger as I'm trying to understand
What it is exactly I'm feeling about this man

I can sense his presence through his smell in a room
When I enter quietly hearing my favorite tune
The vision in my mind is a sexual chemistry
As I sit and lay and think the thoughts of him inside of me

Being around him makes me want him more
As the adrenaline builds up like never before
The stimulation is felt as my heart rate increase
And I am longing inside for these fluids to release
But to put out this warm, feeling of fire
Cannot be done with only one desire

I tell him what I'm feeling as it's difficult some days
He tells me I'll be alright and I'm just going through a phase
He's patient and he listens and this helps me get through
During this time of uncertainty when I'm not sure just what to do

In many ways we are just alike and would be a perfect fit
But I understand the reason and he helps me deal with it
I know it will never happen, the vision inside of me
For what I was experiencing was my personal fantasy

Ray of Us

The love is overpowering,
the insecurities buried beneath the shadow of helplessness.

The desperation to touch your soul,
your unspoken words,
your life’s puzzles—
it veils my mind like an illusion.

You are slipping away from my fingertips,
you are hiding your broken pieces.
You have sealed your lips with untold stories.
You are evaporating into the twilight.
You are pushing the boundaries of your unseen self,
you have consumed yourself in disguise.

But I ---

I’ll be the listener of your never-heard stories—
stories that unleash the pain within.
I’ll be the beam of light to guide you through the anguish,
through the alleys of memory lane,
through the scattered pieces of your soul.

You and I ---
We will illuminate our world with a ray of hope.
We will find our love in a hopeless place.

X-Ray Glasses

(This is a fictional poem)

I bought a pair of X-ray vision glasses.
I could see women's breasts and asses.
I was surprised to learn that the X-ray vision glasses really worked.
A lady got even when she learned that I was acting like a jerk.
She set fire to my X-ray vision glasses and I cussed and hollered.
She destroyed my glasses that cost four hundred dollars.
I was angry and I told her that she looked like a chimp.
She attacked me and now I walk with a limp.
I told her that she had big warts on her ugly face.
She reached into her purse and pulled out a can of mace.
After spraying me in the eyes, it took two hours for me to be able to see.
Don't buy X-ray vision glasses or you may end up like me.

Nam; for Ray

You can look back now
being much older
for they had pulled your number
in the lottery
you had won the grand prize
an all expense paid trip
to neverland
courtesy of Uncle Sam
hand me down helmet on head
slightly used peace in hand
in turn....
you marched
others had before you
falling prey to an unforeseen enemy
some....a surface wound....
the others are all dead
shall we hold a funeral
where no one will come
and everyone will cry ?
some surrendered to hallucinations grasp
pseudo-reality for sanity's sake
the sane could have only dreamed reality
but you had won, you had found the answer
you crossed over....the brook beneath you
babbling under the pretense of happiness
crimson from end to end
to no-end

Ray Shell

She is someone who has been so quiet all the time,

That ray shell is as sweet as this tastiest slime.

She has the gift of gab that truly stands out,

That ray shell is incredibly good and has strong clout.

She is someone who can’t be immediately be noticed,

She’s well reserved and proper to take all of those dissed.

Out of her shell is a young intelligent one,

That ray shell is lavishly cool and a lucky one.

Looking at her is a picture of a one ordinary girl,

That ray shell is candid and doesn’t even know how to curl.

I just discovered how excellent she is in her field,

That ray shell is a girl with dreams who is ready to build.

She is silent but talkative in some other ways,

That ray shell is sparkling in those darkest bays.

Her smile shows her very well attitude,

That ray shell is a tremendous music like a sweet etude.

RAY OF HOPE IN TUNNEL

The sun behind the charcoal cloud pierces a hole
Light streaks of the tunnel strike the forest canopy
Layers of leaves hold them in fraction not the whole
Make the trunks of the cold trees warm and happy.

The foliage splits the rays in tangled tunnels bright
Furrows flashing patterns on the gloomy ground
The forest regains its tunnel vision lost in the night
To mark the lighted pathways to the world around.

You go outside the forest under the open sky clear
The Illuminated life shines in the splendor of the sun
Unshrouded sight reaches the distant and the near
With your open mind carried by untunneled vision.

When despair drives dark clouds in your stormy day
Gloomy life makes for the mind a narrow channel to run
Look through the bright hole in the cloud of dismay
The ray of hope will illumine the tunnel of your vision.
