The Moderators
(Republican debate 10/28)
By Franklin Price
10/29/2015
The moderators were not debaters
They were not supposed to be
Should have controlled and asked the questions
Not to agree or disagree
Should have taken answers given
And moved on to the next
Why they chose there to participate
Has me really very vexed
The evidence was plenty
Moderators there to stir the pot
Directly Bait debaters
To develop their own plot
Debaters stood up to them
Tried to keep things pertinent
Tried to address this country's issues
Those they would face as president
Moderators tried to cut them off
Did not want to hear their views
Strife among the candidates
Raises ratings makes better news
To me control and questioning
Was a joke that was not fun
I'm sure the debaters were sick of it
Long before the night was done
If candidates are serious
About a win election day
The next debate get moderators
Who will keep out of the way

Awakening the country from stupor,
we stop all military manoeuvres,
erasing racial hatred from our home,
that all human beings, fearlessly roam,
greening the earth, leading by example,
love of humanity, be our mantle,
focus on education and healthcare,
home for each soul, free from poverty snare,
whilst encouraging entrepreneurship,
finer soul uplifting arts, our flagship,
space and solar energy, our focus,
love our religion, along Gods locus
judicial reforms for trials made speedy,
food for the needy, jail for the greedy,
guns, drugs and prostitution all must go,
with our ethics built on love throb mellow,
mooting single world governance in peace,
weaponised such, that no foe we appease,
disaster management a focus zone
friendly with neighbours, faults quick to atone,
thus an iron fist in a velvet glove,
strong as lion, yet gentle like a dove.

Never talk religion or politics for more than ten minutes because it will only end in an argument. ~Mrs. Jewel
I do not like Trump's personality,
But I can say unequivocally
There were no new wars when he was Chief,
And inflation had not yet become a thief.
The economy was a boom,
Iran was close to doom.
We did not have a border flood
With nationals of every blood.
Our current President is sinking fast
into his senility and would not last
Without his staff
To choreograph
His every step;
and his speaking is inept.
So when you vote in '24
Please remember this
Biden cares more for China and Iran
Than for his own country's common man.
In past elections I’ve heard told
Voters adding an extra box and throwing old Bugs into the fold
How bad does it really have to be?
Could Bugs Bunny maybe help set us free?
Poor Elmer Fudd would definitely be of no assist
They took away his gun, no proper reach around and no kiss
Daffy Duck has also taken his leave and gone south
He was just no match for Bidens quick wit or Trumps loose mouth
But seriously folks I think we are all screwed
We’re damned if we don’t and damned if we do
Some say the Donald is a little bit touched
But what’s left of Joes faculties, not much
As we get closer to election day, reality will surely bend
Beware of fake news my friends and this apocalyptic end
I know who I’m voting for, me and my toot toot
Bugs Bunny for president, now wouldn’t that be a hoot
Nothing means
anything any more
Empty language
swirls in the fetid air
“signifying nothing”.
Our hard-won Constitution
no longer promises.
History? What history?
Our White House,
the very symbol of democracy
with its famous rose garden,
tended with love by many
presidents’ wives,
destroyed, paved over
like any nondescript
hotel courtyard, sterile,
uninviting, lacking relevance.
East Wing façade only
to be removed (we were
lied to, as usual) as we saw
entire East Wing illegally
demolished, making way
for Trump’s monument to
himself, a tasteless nouveau-riche
ballroom, cheapened by
show-off gold and more gold!
History be damned.
Slavery, abuse of
native Americans
and their children?
Separation of children
and parents, no legal recourse,
never happened, we’re told.
Did we once have a
black president?
Portrait hidden in
an unused stairwell.
Only whites need apply.
“Word of Law” now
meaningless jargon,
Decrees and decisions
bought and paid for
by the highest bidders,
sycophants to the power
at the top, evil radiating in
every direction,
like rivers of sewage
from a burst pipe.
Hate contaminating
all facets of life.
Governmental goals only
power and vengeance.
Grifted cash by a felon,
Our elected representatives,
sworn to protect us and our
Constitution, instead relegate us
to the dustbins of yesteryear.
Bill is my name, fresh-pressed, dressed in all green,
flaunting the face of a president.
I have long been a resident,
resting in your fold.
Envy may be a guest when I'm seen,
And people treat me like gold.
I'm a man of trade, made valuable by trust.
I can be a fool for stringency
or a tool for generosity.
Use this time for introspection.
I'll reveal your motive of kindness or lust.
Your use of me is your reflection.
I am wanted everywhere I effect,
a hot topic on Wall Street,
known by strangers before our first meet.
Dollar is my alternate name.
Make sure you treat me with respect
for I can bring you honor or shame.

There on my wall, my painting of his home-
a piece of history from long ago.
I contemplate the image and at once,
as in a foggy dream, he steps outside
into my space, his hand outstretched to mine.
We dance the minuet; he bows to me
with a brocade coat and white cravat of lace-
tall, impressive man with a powdered wig,
a soft, bright twinkle in his dark blue eyes.
I wonder if he knows I live within
this town, where his headquarters were back then;
how celebrated was his presence here,
and how I now admire and study him,
who spent his time here in my town as our
First President of the United States.
George Washington twirls me around again...
kisses my hand, as I, with a curtsy, smile.
And then, at once, he glides back to his home.
I often think, if he came back again,
how he'd resolve the chaos of our times,
his spirit, having witnessed from above
all the disastrous choices leaders made,
and start from fresh with love-of-country heart...
begin again with 'gifts of hindsight' start.
No Surrender
There are those who stand proud
and salute when Old Glory is raised
where one has fallen to protect his daughter,
while others surround a wounded president
of these United States of America
who has been grazed by an assassin’s bullet
(as if it were a wake-up call for freedom’s sake
to bear arms to defend that which is rightfully ours)
and rises with his arm raised and fist clenched
and blood on his face, determined to win
(as the sun shone down on Butler, Pennsylvania,
on Saturday, July the thirteenth, two thousand and twenty-four)
under the red, white, and blue Star-Spangled Banner,
"Fight, fight, fight!" No Surrender!

Assassination attempt of the 45th President of the United States, Donald J. Trump: Saturday, July 13, 2024, 6:11 PM EDT (UTC–4), Butler, Pennsylvania, U.S.A.
Paul Ryan seems too concerned,
I fear,
that there are non-MAGAs who actively seek to harm
the U.S. President.
While I am among those
who would prefer to live in a nation
that never would have ever elected a kleptocrat,
an anti-Lady Liberty Colossus,
this is because we feared he might deliver on his promises
Which felt like more of a threat to healthy democracy,
thereby bringing far more harm upon himself,
and the rest of us,
than we would ever wish
upon our worst enemy.
DT2 is harming himself
quite Make America Sick Again
effectively.
He needs no Make Business As Usual
greedy and corrupt help with that.
