I stood as though reborn on mounded dirt,
which seemed so moist it strangely could assuage
the ache from bowels that howled from so much hurt.
Would ground then be my cure for pain and rage?
Enticed, I deeply pressed each foot through soil
till they took root and fixed me to a spot.
My ever-thickening trunk served well to foil
the plots of those who’d cut me. . . . they could not!
My limbs, though mighty branches, could not bend;
stubbornly I fought my transplantation.
I weathered storms that God or man might send,
sightless, living long in desolation.
Self preservation did this much for me-
old loved ones passed and I remained a tree.
What do you want?
Is it articulate in your mind?
Will your wish be quelled at the point of grant?
And will you be sure of your find
And endeavor to find it pleasant
And not look behind
What is your wish?
Is it unique or common?
Will you be sure to relish
With your treasuring and opinion
That to your heirs you will relinquish
Your dear gains, their meanings and your passion
What is the need
That wishes and wants be of essence
Other than to commonly breed
Variants, varieties and their command of presence
Meaningful words and honorable deeds
Worth preservation and reminiscence

Crying out to God for preservation
for He's the one to find refuge
confessing to God Himself you're my Lord
what a privilege to know He who is huge
Many sorrows afflict the ungodly
their names God will disown
for the Lord, I've chosen as my lot
in His presence, His glory is known
My lines have gone deep down
where life's pleasant once again
wisdom I've received from the Lord
in my heart to receive no matter when
The Lord is always ever before me
at my right hand so I can firmly stand
makes my heart glad so to truly rejoice
in Christ is security a whole new brand
Been made holy in God's presence
protecting me from the darkest pit
God guides me to walk His pathway
receiving His pleasures to forever sit
(Preserve me, O God, for in you I take refuge.
I say to the Lord, “You are my Lord;
I have no good apart from you.”
As for the saints in the land, they are the excellent ones,
in whom is all my delight.
The sorrows of those who run after another god shall multiply;
their drink offerings of blood I will not pour out
or take their names on my lips.
The Lord is my chosen portion and my cup;
you hold my lot.
The lines have fallen for me in pleasant places;
indeed, I have a beautiful inheritance.
I bless the Lord who gives me counsel;
in the night also my heart instructs me.
I have set the Lord always before me;
because he is at my right hand, I shall not be shaken.
Therefore my heart is glad, and my whole being rejoices;
my flesh also dwells secure.
For you will not abandon my soul to Sheol,
or let your holy one see corruption.
You make known to me the path of life;
in your presence there is fullness of joy;
at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.)
Psalm 16 (ESV)
I’ll stay away…
from what brings pain
What makes tears fall
like acid rain
I’ll stay away…
from what is fake
What makes my heart
about to break
I’ll stay away….
From a false friend
Who makes my hope
Reach bitter end
I’ll stay away…
From selfish quest
What makes me lose
What I love best
I’ll stay away….
From hurtful write
That plunges soul
In darkest night
I’ll stay away…
From words untrue
What gives false love
In shaded hue
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
I’ll stay close to…
what brings me life
What makes my heart
Free from all strife
I’ll stay close to…
What feeds my soul
What makes my heart
Feel light and whole
I’ll stay close to….
What brings delight
What brings me joy
In darkest night
I’ll stay close to…..
What I adore
What feeds me heart
Has love in store
I’ll stay close to….
What's good and true
And so I’ll stay
Right close to you.
Eileen Manassian
People have different tolerance levels for pain. I have a very low threshold. Fragile and brittle...I break easily, and sometimes the repair work takes forever. Thus, I have found that it's best to stay away from potential heartache and pain. Sometimes we torture ourselves by reading or listening to things that will just drive that nail in deeper into our hearts. Why? That is self torture. There is enough pain in life to bring us down. We don't need to make it worse. So...sometimes keeping a distance is best. Not out of hate....it could be disappointed love...unmet expectations...previous painful experiences....or it could just be called....SELF PRESERVATION.

If this was the last war
I'd see purged the shadow bombs that press us from sleep
I'd no longer view sky high places that bleed red
to the clouds
but celebrate a rejuvenated land free from the spray of guns
I'd hear church bells careening with the swell of promise
the pull of new movement
gleaming
like the dissolution of sorrow
I'd hear laughter broad, like peacocks preening
and hallelujahs from the lips of orators
I'd invade streets smeared with the joy of dancing
I'd no longer weep at new war graves with poppies on
crosses
I'd see the sacred cord that binds soldiers to their mothers
restored
I'd throw to a meadow sunflower seeds to grow a
Van Gogh
I'd take a hay wagon ride with my lover to debate love's
curvy options
with compassion now a measure of value
for the end of war is like dreams on high volume
that mark the preservation of life
in its most vital form
beyond the reach of forgetting
Carelessly you threw away each wise act of preservation for sake of being loved
Today I wonder about yesterday. Why life took you to the brink, as you hunkered down that living rage. Losing yourself in selfless acts of heroism everyday you never counted the cost, and when life got overwhelming, you disappeared inside a world of fantasy. A place where you could not be found. An angry fist lay dormant, while you gave yourself away like a good wife, mother, woman, child. Yet that frozen smile on your youthful face never reached your amber eyes. You gave it all for free, never asking anything back. Full of empathy you lend your hands to hospitals, nursing homes and mental centers. You read to the sick, rocked the cripple and closed the eyes of the dying.
Then came the day when you faced the girl in the mirror and realized you were broken. Feeling discarded, unappreciated, lost and hollowed, you realized how abused and used you felt. Filled to the rim with unexpressed anger you went through the motions of life with efficiency but you were so unreachable.
During therapy you opened up and slowly began to understand that life was about self care as well as helping others. You finally found the courage to face your demons. Eventually you spoke your truth and forgave your abusers. Moving on, to a place of self worth. Once you realized you mattered, you found your true self and became the woman you are today.
As you separated the wheat from the chaff, you figured out what was important and what was not. Today I want you to know dear self that I am so proud of you and the aging woman that you have become.
Thank you, Dear Self
Without you, I would never have been able to heal myself.
As the blow of hard times profoundly strikes,
ever so strongly my private space in disarray,
I build a boundless wall seemingly impenetrable,
never to be invaded in the sanctum of the inner woods
for the soul to be preserved in aberrant insulation.
I become an insane prisoner of my making,
held captive behind the fragile walls of volatile psyche.
I find you disappear like mist away from my garden,
takng the fragrance of flowers I love to see bloom.
I'm caught in the dichotomy web of derangement,
whether to break the wall or stay secluded in the cage.
When the time comes to travel to the twilight hotizon,
the instinct of self-preservation dwindles in debris.
The wall collapses with the senile sense of frenzy,
I see the last sunray drizzle through the wood's canopy
from the seraphic sky where my soul flies like a bird.
I embark on the inward flight with illumined insight,
the marooned mind gains the wise vision of the truth,
gets guided by the sacred signposts on the pathway
for the karmic journey to the ultimate destination.
I lift the sunken hopes to the acme of divine madness,
the horizon of soul gleams with the spiritual light,
kindles within the beacon of enlightened consciousness,
as my perceptive being imbibes the heavenly essence.
June 11 Faith in God Bible Meditations Based on Job 35-37
Key Verse – Job 36:5 Behold, God is mighty, and despiseth not any: he is mighty in strength and wisdom.
FAITH IN GOD WHO IS MIGHTY
God is mighty in His dominion’s goodness
Never driving us toward carnality-weakness…
We must stay in His presence of graciousness
Always trusting Him by faith, our Rock of righteousness.
God is mighty in His strength’s glory
Never allowing us to immerse in misery…
We must seek His help against worry
Always depending on Him by faith as we share His Gospel story.
God is mighty in His love’s working
Never leaving us toward wreaking…
We must praise His name along our spiritual trekking
Always calling Him by faith Who guards us from breaking.
God is mighty in His care’s preservation
Never ignoring us midst our affliction’s oppression…
We must obey His commands with our submission
Always humbling before Him by faith in our service-function.
God is mighty in His Word’s endurance
Never setting us to doubt toward our severance…
We must learn from His statutes giving us assurance
Always relying on Him by faith for our deliverance.
God is mighty in His truth’s life building
Never refusing us in our need for His guiding…
We must beseech His power in our service by His leading
Always exalting Him by faith along ministry-involvement abounding.
God is mighty in His victory’s presence
Never leading us to downfall with pride’s license…
We must abide in His triumphant license
Always praying to Him by faith of supplication-incense.

A new feeling I've never felt
You smile and my heart melts
Reasons of self unforgiven
Forever grateful for each
moment I'm given
You keep me calm with serene
composure
When times were rough you
loved harder
Forever indebted to your
driven loyalty
What I've been searching for
you complete me
True love the ultimate sacrifice
Two souls unspoken
compromise
You win I surrender
No motive pure intention
I admire your ability to remain
focused
Uninterrupted for hours
endless
I envy your self motivation
Defying all odds of self
preservation
An answered prayer cast upon
my life
To see one another through
each others eyes
I promise you forever because
I mean it
My promise only last forever if
you keep it
I would be honored to become
one with you
To know you to hold you
because I love you.
