FAITH IN GOD WHO EXHORTS US TO HEAR HIS COUNSEL
God exhorts us to hear His counsel against vanity
While pursuing after us from destructions of futility
Making our faith trust His truth’s certainty
So we can be strengthened with His might’s stability.
God exhorts us to hear His counsel against sinfulness
While forgiving us of our confessed guiltiness
Making our faith strive for sanctification’s steadfastness
So we can be purged toward living in holiness.
God exhorts us to hear His counsel against deception
While teaching us His doctrines and instruction
Making our faith go toward heavenly direction
So we can be guided to overcome temptation.
God exhorts us to hear His counsel against dishonesty and lies
While leading us through His precepts, immutably wise
Making our faith increase by Scriptural advice
So we can be courageous to fight any pretense or disguise.
God exhorts us to hear His counsel against foes’ cursing
While safeguarding us from fears’ oppressing
Making our faith follow His commandment-enforcing
So we can be enclosed around His preservation-blessing.
God exhorts us to hear His counsel against threats’ pain
While encouraging us along stewardship-terrain
Making our faith persevere for diligent service despite strain
So we can be grateful that in His trainings we did spiritually gain.
God exhorts us to hear His counsel against hardship’s sorrow
While pulling us from anguish and travails’ woe
Making our faith radiate in His light despite trials’ blow
So we can be fruitful, testifying about His great commission’s glow.
